Chocobos in FF VIII?????

Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me when I will encounter my first chocobo during this game?

I am currently at Galbadian Garden.

There are numerous chocobo forests throughout the game. These are distinguished by their roundness, they all look like the same bush , of you get what I mean. I don't remember exactly where the first chocobo forest you encounter is located, but there's none on your current island. Refer to a detailed map of final fantasy 8 for reference on chocobo locations.

And the thing to remember is that Chocobos are completely optional in Final Fantasy VIII. You do not need one to complete the game. I have played through this game several times, and never used one. Here's a map of where to find them. Refer to your in-game map to help pinpoint them.

The first one I usually find is next to Trabia garden. I liked the new idea they added with these chocobos in FFVIII. Sadly, you never really heard much about then throughout the game.

Sure do. It came with a PC version of Final Fantasy VIII, though in a form of an emulator. It's fun in it's own way, you could get some really neat items out of that game to use them later on in Final Fantasy VIII.

There is always a baby chocobo which steal me my radar >< lol I have had to buy approximately 10 radars xD Otherwise, yeah the chocobo's woods have a different form than the others

Once you truly understand how FFVIII's Chocobo game works. It's not that hard. But it is the most challenging chocobo game in the series I think.

Especially that tricky forest. Good thing I had plenty of money to re-buy choco-sonars. Did you want to collect the items, or just ride the chocobos around?
