Or do you? Angeal is rarely mentioned after his death in Crisis Core, and he didn't get any more mention besides that game. But, was his brief cameo enough to make you a fan? Or do you truly hate him for some reason?

I didn't hate him, nor did I like him very much. He annoyed me with the whole "Embrace your dreams..." and "... honour..." stuff. Honour-bound isn't a bad thing, but his dedication to SOLDIER and his pride was irritating.

I'd say he was very spiritual, and had that wise thing going on, but resented himself. If people look up to you in a positive light, why would you call and make yourself a monster? All that self-loathing... ugh. And people thought Cloud was the emo?

Yeah, I wish there was a neutral choice in the poll, because I don't hate him, but I can't really say I'm a fan either.

I thought he served his purpose alright, being a mentor for Zack and all, but I wish he would have had a bit more development, or just some more screentime for me to get some kind of attachment to the character. I also thought he flip-flopped a lot, so he was kind of hard to read. One moment he would be helping out Zack, and then the next time you see him, he's saying that he's a monster or whatever, and picking fights.

EDIT: And now that I've really thought about it, I honestly think that Angeal and Genesis would have done well to be condensed into one character. Like say for example, have Angeal's traits be reflected in Genesis, and just not have the Angeal character. It would have had a greater dynamic when Zack faced off against him (Genesis), and there would be no problems with developing those two characters through the course of the game. This is just my opinion, of course.

Angel was sweet. I mean, he is the original buster sword user. He is the grandfather of a lineage of sweet sword users. I think Denzel should be the next in the lineage after Cloud, but that's just my wild FFVII sequel thoughts coming out.

I usually like characters that are in the "honor" type of sense.
Angeal was a good character, but I would have liked to see him use his buster sword more often(if he ever did!)
I would have found Angeal to be a nice older brother.

I liked Angeal, even though his screen time was very limited in the game. I thought it was interesting to see that he was the original owner of the Buster Sword and his passing of it to Zack, and then to Cloud. Angeal reminds me of Basch in a way with his loyalty and honour and whatnot.

Plus, Angeal looks so much like Zack it isn't funny. Secret brother anyone?

I personally didn't mind Angeal, I didn't really like him per say, but he helped Zack become the hero that he was. Sure he might of been an emo and sure he might have
died anodd death, but his loyalty to Zack never faded, and just like cloud (SPOILER ALERT) he watched his hero die in front of him and then tried to do what he could to live on his memories...Cloud did the same thing although he took it to the extreme.

Lmao. When I saw someone had posted that Denzel should be the next Buster Sword inheritor, I nearly died! Then I realized it was me from when I joined these forums like a year or so ago. I guess that idea is out the window, since he'd be inheriting the Fusion Sword now (Advent Children).

Angeal was cool, but the thing he turned into in his boss battle was a little strange. Like, why?

I liked him. I thought he was a great mentor to Zack and I admired their relationship but the whole honour and dreams preaching got a little old for me, im just like "Bro there aint nothin honourable bout your job which is to kill k?! That goes for evryone who helps Shinra and their cause" and he ended up not staying true to such words but I'll be empathetic and say he tried but with such a revelation, he just couldnt come to terms with himself and what he thought he had/would've become. So I was dissapointed when he decided that he should follow the path of a 'monster' and sad for Zack, when he had no choice but to defeat him. Maybe Angeal needed more time or a womanXD (WHAT IT HELPED CLOUD! All these guys pftt way too hard on themselves..so hotXD). Maybe that mightve helped Genesis and Sephiroth too..wait one's into a Goddess (way out your league bro) and ones into his mommy (soo cute!..mm sortaXD). Overall yes I liked him very much, Im sure he meant well, cmon he was helping Zack even after his death. Aside from all the story I thought his manliness (n that small detail where he was the only one out of Genesis & Sephiroth wearing the full first class soldier uniform) and dry sense of humour -"Sephiroth have you lost weight??" I lol'd so hardXDDD) was damn sexy..eh all the first class soldiers are. Even that jealous,whiny bitch GenesisXD
