Spamming is fun, I'll admit that, but after a while you'll start adapting to posting without spamming. I know because when I first signed up, I spammed crazy as hell. Still, when you read the stuff other people post and then look at your spam, you realize that you should help contribute to instead of derailing the thread.

My point is that you shouldn't be scared of posting because of spam. That happened to me, too, about a couple years back, but then I got over it. The worst that can happen is you get a pre-warning. If you do get a warning, though, then you know that's when you should stop. ^_^" Still, you shouldn't let it come to that, so if you're going to post something that you think would be spam, then just refrain yourself from posting it. And believe me, if making a single crap post or thread results in a leave, then I'd have left this forum well over a hundred times. =)

You'll do fine as long as you're not making idle chats or being off-topic in threads. Just go with the rest of the members' discussions and such. You shouldn't leave, just be more conscious of stuff that you post. =)

Yeah, like I said, everyone spams when they join a new forum. This forum is full of accepting people (mostly), and they would be happy to have you stay. Don't let something little get you discouraged. Like Fate said, your post quality starts to improve over time.

In any case, Zolar, if you want a good example of what not to do, look at that dude ShadowNinjaChaos. He kept making posts with garbage text that he copy+pasted from somewhere, deleted it, then did it again. When banned, he proceeded to re-register 4+ times just to be a douchebag. That's what you don't do.

There's nothing wrong about being exited about posting and being active. This forum is in need of more activity.

I did too. Seriously, Zolar, I look back over certain threads and I get embarrassed that I'd composed myself in some ways. ^^;

I've not actually seen your posts, but either way it'd be sad to see someone leave us over something silly. Stay, make your posts. Just add content (two/threeish lines seems reasonable in most sections of the forum - NOT in ID though) to them, and if you want to add something else, just edit your post instead of writing another post.

Anywho... if you feel a need to spam, there's always the Word and Humour games to take it out on. As long as you're playing the game, and not double/triple/so-on posting, you'll be alright.

The grumpy older members generally chill out a bit, they just need to get the recommended dosage of dietary fibre or else a lot of shit gets backed up and leaves them uncomfortable and irritable.

Pretty much as everyone else (exception Jin) has said, you don't have to leave. I like to think our staff is a little more lax then most places. If you give it some time I am sure that you will come to agree. I also think Polk should take his own advice if he wants to call people out like that.

You should take your own advice. Sometimes you can come across as really elitist and some people might think you're an asshole for that. That's not good for attracting new members either.

if you feel that you have been getting into trouble for spamming by a mod, then feel free to ask them what you are doing wrong if you don't understand what you are doing. The mods are mostly relaxed here, and as long as you don't break rules out of repeated ignorance, than you won't get in trouble.

and as an impartial third-party, I say sometimes Che might have the potential to intimidate the newbies but in a non-malicious way. He simply speaks his mind on the forum and gets his point across in a way that is comfortable for him but can seem blunt to others. I do know that he is a friendly veteran and is very approachable, unlike some of the other vets/lurkers. He also is one of the few vets around here that actually cares about the community. There are other veterans that tend to show up for a bit, talk about themselves and peace out.

Merlin, I think you are a smart individual and I have trust in your forum-building abilities, but I also think you can come off as elitest to other people. I also think that you have left a bad impression before your sudden disapperance that 2+ years ago period. Those people are still here, so you might have to earn their respect back.

I am already making strides to clean up my track record from the past, but it's a bit hard to do so when I am being prejudged from every angle. It was over two years ago. Sorry to get off topic again, but I really don't think that Merlin is as bad as you people are saying. I thought he made a lot of valid points a few years ago and was trying to change the forum for the better, but people just started freaking out. Also, I don't think I've seen anything that elitist from him since he's come back... If anything, I respect him for coming back after everything and trying to improve things around here when no one else seems to be taking the initiative.
