I don't think I'd ever been so addicted to a PS3 game before in a long time when I bought this one. I bought it just because it was there at work, and looked interesting (anything with dragons to me right now IS interesting!). Going by a trailer, I wasn't too impressed with how it looked, and I expected a half-assed RPG.
In a way... it sort of is. But in a good way. I mean, the world isn't as huge as I thought it'd be, but then I still have a little more to explore and I'm sure there'll be some expansions.
I created my main character and pawn, and found it quite hard at the beginning. I didn't really know what I was doing, to be honest. I get a game like this and it's about exploring first and questing later. But it's always good to have a little difficulty, or you end up with a piss-easy game. It's why I really liked Demon's Souls.
I think fighting was a real winner for me. Climbing on creatures and pummelling them hasn't been this much fun since Shadow of the Colossus. Customisation is pretty cool too. It makes me glad money is so easy to obtain in this game, or it'll be a total grind.
But anyway. If you liked Demon's Souls, Dark Souls and/or Two Worlds II, I think you might like this one.
