The Final Fantasy - FREE COMPANY (Ultros Server)

Heads up beautiful people - this will be the OFFICIAL Free Company thread for the Ultros server. If you wish to gain access to the Free Company, seek out one of the following characters in-game:

Company members of the "Member" category can also extend invites to new players, who will be placed into the "Initiate" category by default.

Please supply us with your forum username if we are not already on a shared friend list so that we know who we are adding to our in-game community.

That said, we've already got our first order of business! We need to rename the boring old default categories into something truly fitting of the TFF community. That said, we are seeking new names for Master, Officer, and Member categories! Suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

Bah, couldn't get in to be a signatory last night. Finally feeling the brunt of error 1017 - although on the plus side an additional week of free access has been promised to all users who already own the game, including 1.0 players.

I think the titles used should be directly FF-connected rather than something general, hopefully something that transcends the series. I don't know what the character limit for these titles are (20?), but some suggestions:

Light Warrior
Crystal Bearer
Party Member

That sort of thing.

SOLIDER

obviously for SOLDIER only members

which isn't me.

No worries Aerif, one of us will promote you to Officer next time we're on together!

I believe there is a 15 character limit on the titles, so I'm looking more for one-word options instead.

I say just name ranks after characters throughout the game series. Banon, Golbez, Edward, Blank. I'm thinking of characters not many people think of too.

Granted I am not on your server, but I hoped to get the creative juices flowing... or something. Perhaps some other recurring themes could be used for names, ( I really like "The Cid" but couldn't come up with anything as good for the others).

We unlocked Rank 2 tonight and crests. I've taken screenshots of all of the things for them. I don't have time tonight to upload them, but I'll do it tomorrow. It can be customized the way we want it using their presets. There are 3 fields/areas of the crest that can be changed and each comes with about 50 or so selections and about 20 colors. So there is a lot to pick. The cool thing is that this chest will then be on our Company gear, so you can walk about with the chest on it. I still need to look into see how to get the Company gear, but exciting times ahead.

Ok, perhaps just Master as "The Cid" and the initiate as "1017".

I say we name the ranks after members of the forums.

As promised, I've come with the crest designs. I've done some photoshopping to make the images a little easier to read and fit. As I explained there are three parts of the crest we get to edit and then a palette of colors to pick for each. Check out the attached images and see what you think will work for something that says TFF.

Aerif was finally online at the same time as one of us, so I've gotten him added to the Free Company and promoted him to Officer. The post above has been updated to reflect the changes. I am also extending that post to include a full member list.

I can't wait to pretend I have tits.

The chocobo and crystal tend to be the things we use as FF iconography for TFF. So I was thinking we could use the diamond field with a light blue and blue with the chocobo bust on the foreground. Those are my thoughts anyway for the crest.

Oh a few days back we hit the Rank 3 milestone for the Free Company. It expands the company chest to have more inventory room. The next rank I believe unlocks company equipment, which would have our company crest on it. The last rank comes with the most options as we'll be able to purchase actions that will grant overall bonuses to every member of the company for 24 hours.

I suppose a prime activity for us now would be to finalize the concept for this crest, given that we're all locked out of the game at the moment. You bring up a fantastic point - the crystal is very much our symbol, and have been for fifteen years now - but we need to use the moogle, not the chocobo!

Therefore, this is my official suggestion, to be taken under consideration:

Crest (second image) - rounded diamond - row 2, fifth from right edge
Pattern (third image) - diamond pattern - row 2, eighth from left edge
Sigil (first image) - winged moogle - row 3, second from right edge

Colors - black part of pattern is light blue, white part of pattern is dark blue, moogle is silver (or light gray, whatever's next to white)

Thoughts?

1: row 4 slot 8
2: row 1 slot 4
3: row 1 slot 17
4: dont care, just make something red, dark red

I guess we do use the moogle frequently as well. It works for me. Sounds like what I was thinking.

Noticed, thanks to the website that we are Rank 4 now apparently. It's pretty nice that everything from the character to the Free Company can be seen online without being in the game. That should unlock the Company equipment now. So when I get a chance tomorrow I'll have to look at it to see what it offers and the prices, since our crest will be on them.

I'm with Colt's idea.

Anyone know when they are opening character creation back up? I'd like to make an alt here.

It used to be open, but they closed it again two days ago. It is pretty random I'd say. The only thing I can really suggest is just keep checking the news for the daily updates. I'll keep an eye out as well The NA/EU are the only servers with closed creation right now. The JP servers are good. Hopefully, things get resolved on it. Didn't know Ultros would end up being so full on people.

It's like 75% of the NA servers.

The thing that is sad. At one point everyone is going to quit this game and it's going to just be the usual players who enjoy this game. All the PvPers will leave at one point. So it's like clogging up the server for no reason!

I checked this afternoon and it was only a handful of servers locked for creation, if memories serves. Admittedly, it is the one we need to actually be open so you can join us. I'm guessing it will be back up again in a day or two. They won't leave the servers like that. Though now that they opened digital sales again, there might be a new flood of people.

Good news for you, Che and Loaf. The Ultros servers are open again for character creation. Don't know if you knew already, if not, hurry now while you still have the chance. Ultros will probably get closed again.
