That is awesome. Good thing mine is just about complaining about school!
Duder that is halarious that we where both making threads about looking back at the same time and didn't know that the other was doing some what the same hahahhahahaa.
I got it up and running last night there is alot of room from growth in that thread and open discussion. http://thefinalfantasy.net/forums/sh...-planning.html
I think he will. Him, one other, and I originally worked on it together before we... just stopped, so yeah. He should be on board, albeit a bit less active.
i will have to get back to you later tonight when i am at a real key board instead of my cell. Think taco would want to jump on board too? Lets go ahead and take this to a shinra. I will set up a thread in concerns to it there. To many prying eyes watch your vms and mine.
The four basics we thought of were information about posts, information about profiles, information about layout, and what each forum is for. It was originally 3, but we thought that if we merged any of the four topics together it'd just be freakin' huge. Posts is BB code, limitations for attachments, how to use the advanced posting setup to format, etc. Forum profiles basically described everything that goes on in your profile... so avatars, sigs, various info, PMs, VMs, etc. Forum layout would cover threads, social groups, arcade, HP/MP, Thank You's, etc. The final one is self-explanatory! Haha. We didn't want to give each section a particular name though. We were going to use the index and say things like, "For questions pertaining to x, y, and z please click here." And just spam that for each of the four sections. There's more, but I'll wait for your reply. Don't want to hijack the project!
We could just throw it into Shin-Ra for the time being, rather than set up something new. If we just say, "DON'T POST PLEASE" everyone will probably listen. Personally I don't think it should be more than 3 or 4 posts, index included. I had actually wanted to keep each post in a different thread so that people could ask new questions and point out changes relevant to that particular FAQ section. Since it's a FAQ, we may as well keep an open mind to the questions that are asked frequently. I'm digging up the stuff that was discussed a while back. Tell me what you think of it.
Yeah I was thinking something along the same lines but still containing it down into as few posts as possible utalizing the find option and setting it up like a standard gameFAQ stratagy guide. I was thinking about actually throwing in illustrations but I think the cap on pictures per post might kill that idea. I figure I would try to make it as easy as possible while still being informative. If it was broken down into multiple posts I think it would be better to do something like this in a more private section of the forum like in the Digest Area, I was planning on working on it in the staff forum personally just to keep people from trying to post into it when I was in the middle of plugging in ideas and editing. We might be able to talk to loco about setting up something we could use that is out of the eyes of the forum and have it moved when it is compiled and completed.
We originally had this idea of having a FAQ index and splitting the content up into about two or three different sections. We would also link to the TFF Rules, etc. I think the reason we split it into pieces was because of how cluttered other FAQs were when they tried to contain everything in a single post. It was just easier to have an index pointing them in the right direction. I think that one of the FAQs was about etiquette... which I believe you or someone else covered at some point. We could use it!
I brought up the FAQs a few weeks ago in the staff forum and last night I actually volenteered myself to revamp them; including the faqs in the nav bar. Fuzz has already givin his blessing. Now the questrion is where to start.
Consider yourself hit up.
