Look here, sugar tits. I'll give you Kefka, final offer!

No, kidding. I'm not saying those aren't good games but I love FFIX.

Do you like the Tales of... series?

Yeah, I'm fine. I wasn't offended or anything.

Whoa, slow down there! I don't think you got that I was joking in my +rep. And it was playing on the fact that the report button and +rep button are right next to each other. I respect your opinion, despite not agreeing with it. You seem to be overreacting a bit. But do what you feel you must. Nothing will come of it, either way.

Besides, Cesar has probably already seen it. All of that stuff gets monitored by him.

Haha, honestly, I'm sorry I shattered your picture of me. I'm actually not very much into Norse mythology... But I like the fact that Freya's the Goddess of fertility - suits me at least a bit A few months ago I was entitled "best pregnant woman ever", so... it fits. So you can probably go back to your picture of me being a Goddess of Fertility

(Why do you dislike FF9? Just curious, share all your hate. )

Pfffft... At least I can choose a favourite. You can't have 4, that's bullshit! Besides, I love Garnet, ViVi and Kuja. Don't blame me for your bad taste and wage war, mister.

    I'll take a gander.

You're back! I missed you! We're cool, man. You were mostly right about this place, and I was kind of a dick to you. I'll be civil from now on.

There's one trend that never changes over the years - drama generates activity. It's the greatest mystery of the universe. Like when people slow down to look at a wreck on the highway, or crowd around the scene of a crime.

    Small victories.

And yeah, I could have gone back to pinpoint the exact time in which that topic got out of line, but honestly, I chose not to. The majority of the discussion was remarkably good, and I didn't feel the need to shut down something that was offering such passionate discussion amongst the members, even if it was a little crass at times.

"An analysis of public records, local news reports and Guardian reporting found that 32% of black people killed by police in 2015 were unarmed, as were 25% of Hispanic and Latino people, compared with 15% of white people killed."

That is a VERY different claim than 32% OF the unarmed kills were black compared to 15% white. One of the two is incorrect. I didn't actually look at the Guardian to see which they said, because I do tend to trust that their numbers are accurate. The bias tends to be in what they attempt to derive from the numbers.

You presume a motive that doesn't exist. I have no issue with The Guardian that I don't have the the vast majority of news sources. The Guardian is simply one I find myself correcting in debates quite frequently. In general, if a source just provides data, it's usually doing alright. When it draws conclusions, it's generally safe to assume there's a bias, and likely some bullshitting.

The 3000 number wasn't based on this year. It was a previous year for which complete records are available, and cross references are available to confirm their accuracy. And that trend has also held. On an average year, about twice as many whites are killed as blacks. I think so far this year has been slightly skewed towards blacks, but I don't like to use current years, because it doesn't account for differences that happen regularly at certain times of year. White crime for example tends to be higher towards the end of the year, likely due to the holiday season.

The point of the latter bit was to discount the thought that blacks have always been humanity's whipping boy and are being treated worse than other races. In fact compared to most other races that have been enslaved, their lives have been a proverbial picnic.

There is of course racism in society. There always has been and likely always will be. But to suggest that all or even the majority of black cop killings are racist is erroneous. The statistics don't point to a significant level of bias against any race. Individual racists exist in the US. Racist systems do not.

That's what I'm talking about! I love your shtick. I'm not pushing you or anything, I'm just enjoying your gimmick.

    Lol

Figured I'd explain. I'm enjoying the show. You have an entertaining gimmick, kid.

    That was redundant.

Yeah, reintroducing a chat box would give people a reason to stay logged on between posts, and ideally draw traffic. We've had it on the forums before, on an older version of vBulletin, but I don't think any of us ever considered dropping it into the index. I'll have to run it by Fuzz and see if he'll integrate one; our index still gets hundreds of unique views daily, but that just doesn't translate over into the forum. Maybe some chatter can influence that. Thank you for that suggestion.

You rubbed people the wrong way last time you were here, but your ideas are good. I appreciate the message, even if the delivery isn't always the greatest. :3

I think poking around in the roleplay forum isn't the best place to try to drum up excess activity. I'd reasonably consider archiving the whole thing if not for the couple of people who still keep a couple threads going here and there. There's not much else I can do on my end to create where there is nothing to be created. I've spent hundreds on advertising, in hopes that we'd see some extra life while I myself was unable to dedicate my time in earnest over the last few months. E3 is stirring up a lot of conversation, and my hope is to wrangle some of it back in this direction. There is a TFF Skype chat that has a hundred messages a day some days, and it kills me that the activity is there instead of in here.

At the end of the day, it's still a handful of people who have been here for long over a decade, and the handful of extras who have joined along the way and managed to stick around. Outside of the walls of the internet, I still run into a lot of "Final Fantasy is bullshit, that game has sucked since [insert title at least a decade old]." I'm trying to find people who are interested in discussing ANYTHING, even the old games, but there are a lot of headstrong anti-RPG folk around here. All I need is two or three people who will make a genuine effort, and then it could be as simple as "and they told two friends, and they told two friends, and they told two friends..."

Don't chalk anything up as a failure on your part. You tried to do the same thing I've been throwing money, ideas, and opinions at for a couple years. Even a lot of the FF fansites that were far more active are seeing a serious decline in activity. It happens. And then SQEX will list an official release date for FFXV and the internet will blow up again. Perhaps we need a little more content variety; I've been doing a lot of talking and playing with developers these last few months. Forcing the meat and potatoes of our "product" out of repetitive announcements and occasional updated information could give us a boost too.

You're absolutely right. Hopefully someone will step in to tango with you. Your plot foundation sounds interesting. I like how you have Gilgamesh as the guardian of Overworld, rather than his more familiar comedic relief role. Sounds way more important and crucial. It echoes how I feel about how the character should have been portrayed in some of the games.
