    Hello

My school system was fine, nobody to my knowledge was armed, and nobody needed to be, I live in a good neighborhood, always have. So it's not a matter of personal experience or fear for my own safety. Arming teacher itself isn't a step down in society, the step down is entering a situation in which we need to seriously consider it a reasonable course of action. Arming law abiding citizens is the treatment, not the disease, beginning treatment just requires one to accept that there is something that needs treating. The world is already stepping down, now it's just a matter of, do we try and ignore it, or acknowledge the issue and try to deal with it? We're all stuck with a world going downhill, whether we respond to it or not, the problem is there. I wish it weren't. If the world weren't in the state it is, I wouldn't need to seriously consider that armed teachers would be a good idea, but unfortunately, I do. I'd rather not be part of a society going down hill like ours is, but I'm here now, all I can do is adapt. If I came across as offensive, I wasn't trying to be. So, my apologies.

Ha ha, is that what it's like here now? I remember a few big egos but bitchiness was always at a low. XD

Precisely, we'll have to set something up. I'm off for a while soon, anyways. We can arrange loads then.

I'm good. Just deciding if I want to stay in Manchester or not. Spending my days reading. What do you get up to in Oz?

You don't need to explain yourself, for the most part you are right, though you have to understand how irritating it can be to "debate" with a person who likes to make these ridiculous points, but doesn't want to, or rather can't defend them... after a while you just lose your patience.
  5. Ive been meanin to leave u a lil msg just wanting to say I think ur beautiful and yes I also think you should be a moderator, you'd do a better job than all of them combined. x p.s I LOVED ur comment in that suicide thread. I felt the exact same whilst reading down that thread. I'll never forget it.

MSN IS GOING? That is the worst news... Yes we do need to find a new method. Skype may be a good one. How often I can go on it is another matter. I tend to be online in 5 min spells now.

Wait, why are you back here Mr Lannister? How are you, btw!?

Admittedly, I thought it was... got a little upset for a moment there, ha. But as long as you're sure I didn't upset or anger you, then... thanks for letting me know.

I've read your post, and I do think I need to take a look at how I feel about suicide though. I think my posts are mostly pent up anger from my own experiences, which is why I HATE resorting to using personal experience as reasoning; emotions are tied too deep from experience. There's ignorance from both sides of the argument, I think. Didn't see any ignorance in your post though.

I'm sorry if I played even the smallest part in causing that anger. Hoping you and Cilla have a good evening after what I can only imagine to be a pretty scary drive home.

Just saw your comment in my blog, and I'm not sure if you'll see a reply if I leave it over there (I wasn't even notified of the comments made... useless!), so I'll leave you a VM!

I still have about £2000 saved up for when I was planning my move to America. David has no savings and I'm a little better with money, so we were thinking of having a place put in my name. In some ways it'd be better if it were in his name, but that's if there's negative happenings involving a separation in the future which I'm sure won't happen. We have thought about deposits! That perfect pad I mentioned asked for £1000 up front, so... it really was perfect. ^^'

Musings on the US Election

by Martin on 11-09-2012 at 04:05 AM
Romney vs. Obama. It was a question of realism against the idealism. Moral good vs. evil? I’d heard it described as that. It was a debate that raged on and on until the results were declared, questioned (mainly by Karl Rove), re-counted and re-counted again. Mitt Romney was the business savvy, rich Republican who focused heavily on kick-starting America and reuniting under a banner of singularity. Barack Obama is the great defender, the orator, the charmer who will restore American employment and

L'Histoire

by Martin on 10-25-2012 at 07:53 AM
The best part about having any extended free time is that after the initial boredom and frustration has passed, you find that your intellectual senses become less dulled. I find that I am often taken with a urge to research and write more, not always when you might expect it. It can be as I'm trying to sleep at 3 in the morning. I can be playing a videogame and then I want to fire up JSTOR. Usually it can take the form of a trigger phrase on a TV programme that forms a link of research - anything

Australian Agriculture - soon to be a myth?

by Martin on 09-24-2012 at 09:52 AM
I'm not going to go into extensive detail about myself in this blog. It was never the intention, being somewhat of an impersonal attempt at examining things I had been looking at in detail and then maybe discussing it further with members of the site. This post won't subscribe to this completely but I am curious to hear your opinions on the matter I suppose. This will be more journalistic than educational but I hope it might teach a few things and might even be interesting!

Aviation Accidents

by Martin on 09-13-2012 at 12:04 AM
You might think this is a fairly morbid way to start proceedings and I suppose you'd be right but I've always had a weird fascination with aviation incidents/crashes. I am no frequent flyer nor am I a fearful one but the fact remains that the modern plane is both a marvellous piece of engineering genius, and a dangerous piece of machinery when mistreated or not maintained correctly. I've spent maybe hundreds of hours online and researching documentary evidence to try to understand when something
