Carbuncle was my first summon. Playing FFIX. Ifrit and Shiva don't count since FF8 was more like a random night of randomness.

Oh man nice dude got it back! My friend's decks are all tournament play. He likes to have that. WTF? DID YOU JUST BEAT ME HOW WITH HUH type of strats lol.
That's why I prefer Extended Legal or just casual play, where older cards are still valid with handfuls of exceptions (or, you know, you're playing with friends and nobody cares what's legal and what's not). The deck I lost hasn't been Standard tournament legal for years. And, by the way, it's absolutely in one piece still. I got it back a couple hours ago. I'm still looking at having something ready for Standard play again since all of my friends are back into it hardcore again.
and haha yeah my friend's girlfriend watched us play one time. She was just like....what, the ****...
I usually spent my money on other stuff. I really want to build a unique deck with control and countering your counters lol. But I'm not financially stable enough to get a nice deck like that. I just play with my friend's decks.
Oh man, that sounds nuts. I haven't really been into Magic for the last three years or so (funny what you give up without even realizing when your girlfriend isn't into the same things), but that draft tournament I was at Friday night before the incident really got me craving the game again. I'm actually purchasing singles for current legality sets right now. :3
Not huge into it but I've used a Kildatha(sP?) deck. A Blue and White deck with 1 Artifact (Colossus thing with trample) and he had some cards that turned into artifacts so he would shape anew and then draw that Colossus lol. Control deck obviously. His latest had something to do with, control, survive and one of his Plainswalkers took cards and then reset the game with said cards taken play instantly lol.
Walls of Shards + Kavu Predator. Four of each. Lots of sweet old legendaries to complement the combo. The deck hasn't been Standard Legal since 9th edition, but it won plenty of tournaments. Had a 25-7 record in tournament play. Only losses came from bad draws. Okay, not "only" but... most, at least.
Yeah dude it does suck. One of my friend's got mugged one time a block from his house. He had no idea what to do and he was out of it for like a week, I felt bad for him. I was even a block from him when it happened at a friend's house. Really wish I was driving home when it happened. But I know the 3dS and phone are obviously way more important then the deck but I mean, YOU PUT YOUR HEART AND SOUL INTO BUILDING THAT DECK! You'll just have to make an even better deck now.
Eh, the cards really aren't a big deal. The $500+ phone and the 3DS I've had since launch with thousands of streetpasses... and the sentimental attachment to those items for certain reasons... that's what really bothers me.
