  1. But we know so clearly that "liberal" philosophy, esspecially economic, does not work. So are you content then to press on with it with full knowledge that you're completely wrong in this regard, or will you take the opportunity to abandon sarcasm and actually support plans that work?

PS: I love the cartoon. It's a crystal clear example of naive hoping for peace. What am I supposed to take from that, I'd love for you to tell me. Am I supposed to take Calvin's line of Hobbes being a "loathsome godless communist,," as being an uninformed opinion and that communists like Breshnev, Mao, and Castro were just really great guys. It might be noted that none of those leaders were economically successful, so you might understand where I'd draw the conclusion that Communism doesn't work. War, as you may not believe, becomes necessary as it always has to preserve resources and culture. Communism, and socialism, if allowed to spread are nearly impossible to overcome and result in economic stagnation for all. If you understand that, then you might be able to understand then why people are so vehamently against the social safety nets of this president. Public Healthcare? Really? Would you give a monopoly of the Heathcare industry to Allstate? Of course not, but yeah what a great idea it would be to give a monopoly of the healthcare industry to the government right? Right on!

Well yeah, it is fitting that a "liberal" has a "liberal" philosophy. That's generally how it works, how observant.

"Surrender for peace. Not fight for peace."
  4. LOL. John Lenon was a freaking hippie. I mean seriously Hippie's always think that the world will one day just magically be this great place where people never dissagree or fight, and that's the genesis of the Utopia idea. As though there will ever be such a world.

They miss the point that fighting isn't aimless. Animals fight. We fight over resources, and the ability to survive, and the endurance of our ideals.

It's seriously silly, and Lenon was apart of the sillyness to actually propose that some utopia could ever really exist. The only people who say such things are those who are insulated and defended and supported by others and that by ignoring the fact that other people are protecting them from ever having to be attacked or to find it necessary to engage in warfare on any level, they consequently come to believe that it would never be desireable or necessary. It's really like listening to the logic of a 5 year old who thinks pets are made of marshmellows and who can't conceive of the realities of things like life & death.

The point is, there will always be people who try to dominate and dictate, and naive wishing for peace is the surest way to encourage an aggressor. Thus to secure peace, you must prepare for war, and since a weapon unused is a useless weapon, you must thus wind up using it against those who would seek to prove that you wouldn't.

Yea, like I'm no extremist, and I don't have one sided political views. I just like to see discussions instead of people getting hot under the collar and intimidated.

Are there any online databases that discuss the idea of a Utopia? I would find it interesting.

You know, this place is full of closed minded bigoted eejits. It annoys me when people close threads such as yours because they couldn't be bothered discussing something they don't agree with. It's only the internet, not a house of parliament. I don't see why people take it so seriously.
  9. Yeah, don't stress. The way I took tests was to study in advance, and the day of, maybe look at a few notes, but cramming doesn't help. It's better to have studied beforehand and just chill the day of.

I'm,,,, i don't know. I'm looking forward to an iffy weekend. I was going to go surfing in Daytona, but I might go to Disney. I'm supposed to play tennis in my local league on Sunday, I hope.

I've been stressed to the max. I should actually be studying for an aerodynamics exam, but I need to do something less stressful for the time being. The exam is two hours away, so I shouldn't be on here much longer today.

    You?

Right now, I think it's safe to say that I'm really not looking for a relationship. I stopped 'looking' almost a year ago now. Things just seem to happen randomally. That's the part I like. I won't force anything to happen. Chances are I'll come on too strong and people don't normally like that. Not to mention being single is amazing. I don't need to lose sleep thinking about whether or not someone is thinking of me. Instead, I get those random texts out of the blue. THAT's what I like. Random is fun. Keeps my life interesting and not so disappointing.
