I described her as a "realist idealist" once. Simply, an "idealist" has an objective view of what the world should be like. It's commonly alleged that either such an ideal would never function, or could never be reached -- that idealism is impractical

"Realism" is a general reference to the perspective that what exists is what we have -- that we should accept it, as well as the confines it presents.

Thus, when I called her a realist idealist, I was saying that she held some kind of notion of what the world 'should' be, but also had practical ideas as to how to approach it; or at least held some sort of dissatisfaction with what currently exists and the order in which it exists. She is a 'pragmatic idealist'.

I'm not aware of it being an actual term, but I liked it.
