I like the character, but that background does seem a bit too plain. I'd like how it looks all transparent, though. But I suppose it does go with your banner.

I can... somewhat read that small amount of text in the corner, but it blends in so easily, that... that's not very easy to read. o_O What else... I do like the background a bit, but maybe its a bit... too busy? Just about every pixel of this avatar has something going on... (But you ARE a stickler for filling in empty space, so...)
For a first time thing, it's very good, regardless.

It is good, but way to bright. Hurts my damned eyes. kinda used to it, cause all of your stuff is bright..

I think yours is wonderfully done~! <3 I love the faded effect Riku has behind and the vertical scanlines really add a nice effect to the overall image. Though, it'd be cool if the white part in front was a bit see-through, in my opinion. =D But still great, nonetheless.
