Fortunately we were able to catch this pretty quickly.
We apologize for the site's downtime earlier this evening. It looks like it was only out for about an hour. The PHP scripts went all crazy-like and the whole site was drawing blanks. I put in a quick call to Fuzz who then called the host and had them reboot the server manually. All's well that ends well -- we should be smooth sailing from this point.
These things are bound to happen from time to time. PHP is a funky monkey.

But seriously, I thought that "issue" had been resolved. I guess it decided to bite back from the grave... maybe one of the hosted sites is adding wierd shit to their sites... because its not like the main TFF site has changed any over the last year or more. Might want to look into what they are doing in their respective areas, since it can influence the server. Just a thought. ^_^
Fuzz has 35 clients on the server. He can't just "get rid of them" because they pay him.

Thanks for announcement Cesar and more importantly for the call. I was able to reboot the server from my friends iPhone.
I checked the error logs and there is rough code on another site that disrupted the mysql service. Its fixed now and shouldn't happen again. I recently got a 2nd server with PHP5 on it, so I will move clients that don't require php4 over to it to help even out the load. Most of the other sites aren't traffic intensive, but it would be good to do some cleaning.
Having a second server should certainly help, especially because I'm sure some of your clients get a fair bit of traffic themselves.

Well it depends Cesar. Even if they pay money, some companies find dead weight to be more burdensome to the overall outlook than the money they receive from said dead weight. Usually moreso in a large company where they could be allocating that wasted space to another client that will actually be turning a profit. Of course its also bad for a startup company since a dead "connection" isn't exactly enticing to potential clients. It makes them think twice before jumping aboard.
In other news, I apparently guessed correctly. Where's my cookie?
I doubt the people on the TFF Network are paying Fuzz to be hosted. >_>;
Besides, their forums here are dead, and I assume at least one or two of those sites are dead as well.
Seriously, I'm just saying. I wasn't talking about everyone, just the ones that are dead and aren't helping any. =P
haha, yeah... hosted 'network' sites on TFF definitely do not pay $$$. The clients i have professionally from personalized-websites.com are the ones that pay an annual fee. Plus a few friends/family.
I'll have to talk to Merlin - but if we upgrade Vbulletin and port the mods/code to PHP5 we can move to the new server. I think we are fine at the moment; but good to know we have a spare to fall back on.
