At the following time, we will be performing maintenance on The Final Fantasy Forums. During this period, the forums will be unavailable.

[Maintenance Details]
- Reputation System overhaul will be implemented and tested
- Cleanup of various reported layout issues

This topic is in regards to the new system and features. Complaints, etc in regards to the Reputation System and it's temporary removal are NOT ALLOWED. Additional details of the features will be added upon maintenance completion.

Features of Thank-You System
Phase I

• You can rate individual posts with either `Thanks!` (positive) or `No Thanks!` (negative)
• Messages are shown in your User CP as before, with `Thanks!` being green and `No Thanks!` being red
• There is no user ranking. The pips are gone and any reference to your "status" has been removed. Thanking someone does not affect the user status in any way, shape, or form.
• Limits on Thanking have been greatly reduced to encourage more interaction. These may be adjusted in the future.
• Capability of Banning users and specific forums from the Thank-You System have been added.
• Everyone is on a clean slate as far as this System goes, meaning no-one will be banned from the start.
• TFF Rules apply to the Thank-You System. Violators can and will be disciplined by the staff. If you believe someone is violating the rules, please tell the staff.

Phase II
This Phase is not implemented yet. It will be similar to sites like Digg, where you can rate specific posts, rather than a user. Kinda stupid it wasn't written that way in the first place, but I didn't design the system, Jelsoft did. I tried a few hacks but they all suck ass. Therefore, I'm working on building one from scratch. It will not be up any time soon since I have a lot on my plate.

Thanks to everyone for being patient. It might not seem like much right now, but it's just the first step. My main goal today was eliminating all the bad stuff and retaining all the fun stuff we like. If you find any bugs, (like your old Rep Count, etc showing up somewhere), please post it here and I'll take care of it as soon as I can.

I think the layouts are pretty much bug-free right now. The tables are still screwy looking on the main page, but I'm not going to mess with that until I totally replace them in a few months. It's not a simple fix.

Yeah, they're showing up in mine as well, but if you notice; there's no numbers. No points. Just the comments and the green/red/grey blips next to them.

I figured a lot of people would want all their old rep messages to stay, so I kept them in-tact for your viewing enjoyment. If you wish for your old stuff to be purged, feel free to send me a PM and I'll nuke yours for you.

Thanks for the heads-up on the UserCP though. I forgot to change the header to "Latest Thanks Received". One more `R word` blasted into hell. ^_^

There are still limits to how many you can do in a day, etc... I just lowered the limits by quite a lot. The circle should be about 5. It used to be 15.

I really think it's a great idea to have it like this. It'll stop the kind of 'competition' that goes on with rep to some extent. Nobody can compare points or pips now, but it's still a really nice way to commend somebody's post, or disagree with it without causing a fuss.

Yeah I like keeping the aspect of being able to send people messages based off of a post, so that it helps cut down on useless "I agree/disagree" posts. Obviously it doesn't eliminate them, but it does at least help.

Oh and FYI: I mean business with the disclaimer folks. The old system is buried. Any other questions or concerns regarding it or how it was handled can be sent to me or the staff through PM. I won't warn anyone for it, though. I have a heart.
