Sweeney Todd is my favourite by far. Most people will disagree, but I really love it. I found The Nightmare Before Christmas slightly boring... though I think that might've been because the video kept buffering and skipping, so I got a little fed up. I'm going to watch it again soon, though, on actual DVD.
But yeah. Sweeney Todd has to be mine. The quirky songs and characters are really loveable, and it's not your typical musical either. And I'm sure there's more for me to say, but I'm lazy so I'm going to finish here.
Nightmare Before Christmas.
On Blu-Ray. Omigoditisgorgeous. Nightmare is amazing, and is probably my favorite movie of all time. But I'm biased.
(NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.)
I really loved Sweeney Todd but i also loved Sleepy hollow, it also helps that he picked Johnny Depp to play the lead, that was a good choice he was yummy.
I find alot of his films rather good nightmare before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands. Im also looking forward to his 2010 film Alice in wonderland, I haven't yet found the plot for it but there will be a few well known actors/actresses. Incase anyone is interested here is the link Alice in Wonderland (2010 film - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Edward Scissorhands was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I think that, along with the Corpse Bride, would be my two favourites.
The Nightmare before Christmas comes close behind. It was so.. Revolutionary, and had such gorgeous characters and an amazing storyline.
I've been on this site since 2006 woah
Apparently everyone is doing Alice films these days. Marilyn Manson is doing one as well, possibly with Depp in it, I believe? Look up Phantasmagoria.
SORRY THREAD DERAIL.
I'm going to have to go with Froggie on this one...
Edward Scissorhands. It was so...well...it really explains the awkwardness of certain people very well. Plus, I sympathized with Depp's character and felt closest to him than probably any other screen character.
People didn't feel like they had to get to know him, just point and stare. When they found out that he was brilliant or had some talent they could use him for, he was tolerable...
It was a grandiose film that covered so many social themes that it was definitely note-worthy.

It's always been Edward Scissorhands. I liked the music, I liked the humor, and I liked the actors. It was sad, but it had a lovely message behind it.
Nightmare Before Christmas would be my second favorite. I enjoyed it as a kid(especially the tree part) and I enjoy it even now. No other film can replicate the feeling it gave.
My third would totally be Beetle Juice. I LOVE that movie. Beetle Juice is hillarious. I love the shrunken head part and the bits with the sand snake. I can't get that theme song out of my head when I hear it, either.

I'm not a fan of Tim Burton. He has this sort of "this is ****ing weird, so I really don't want to watch it" style of film making. You see, I may be insane for thinking this, but I like movies that look as if they don't come straight out of a dream. Since that's the case, then my favorite Burton film is the remake of Planet of the Apes. At least it didn't have the feel of being a Tim Burton film.
Edward scissorhands.
I liked the Sweeney Todd movie. It was a remake I read but Tim Burton did do a great job!Its awesome how its a horror movie but a musical. I also have the soundtrack and I love to act it out when i'm cleaning or something LOL.I also like the nightmare before christmas, that one has always been one of my favorites.I wasnt really into Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and I havent seen Corpse Bride yet,but I really want to,although some of my friends said dont even bother with Corpse Bride but whatever
Oh and Vesphiel I know youre new and everything but you really need to put more detail into your posts. I'm not a mod but i'd hate to see you get in trouble on your first day.

I saw sweeny todd not knowing it was a musical (not really a fan of musicals) but it wasn't too bad, good story just it was a musical.
Charlie and the chocolate factory was ok, i like willy wonka and the chocolate factory more but id did like how willy wonka was one messed up dude in the burton film.

I liked Sweeny Todd and Nightmare Before Christmas but I have to give the points to Nightmare beacuse I was not able to finish SweenyTodd so I have yet to see the end.
I did like it though.
I really liked Edward Scissorhands as well, my friend said she found it boring but I certainly didn't. I thought it was a beautiful story, of course it was weird but it was still lovely. It's funny and dramatic at the same time and Johnny Depp is the best. I also liked Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I thought it was cute. The Corpse Bride is good, I remember thinking it was weird but once again had a lovely storyline. Sleepy Hollow was okay but I'm not into head slicing. O.o
I love Nightmare, but I almost feel it's so Danny Elfmans or that it'd be taking away from him to say it's my fave. To pick something that's pure Burton I'd go Batman from 89. Yes Elfman did the music too but it wasn't a musical. The movie isn't trying to be as grounded as the new ones explaining why he can do this or do that, but the overall style and flash it carried was quite great. Forever and Batman and Robin were garbage but the 2, the only 2 he did I thought were amazing.
Nightmare before Christmas hands down. I absolutly love it. The characters are amazing and I love the animation.
Second would probably be Batman (the original), and then Corpse Bride.
No one else has said Big Fish. That is a shame, indeed. It really is a great movie. It has the best script of any Burton film, and just about everyone is perfectly cast. Go watch it.
Tim Burton. The man's truly a genious. No doubt The Nightmare Before Christmas is an awesome movie. Haha. I grew up watching that along with Beetlejuice. I also like some of his other movies like Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands, The Corpse Bride, and Sweeney Todd. I really didn't care for the remake he did of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. It was an okay movie but I prefer the original. But my favorite movie of all time would have to be Beetlejuice. I never get tired of watching that movie.![]()
I can't say that I really have a favorite. But if I have to choose, it will definitely be between Sweeney Todd and A Nightmare Before Christmas.
Nightmare before Christmas...
My soul, corrupted by vengeance
Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey
In my own salvation
And your eternal slumber
My junk:
Daz 3d! Awesome!
I will have to also pick nightmare before christmas![]()
At the end of the day, it comes down to one hero to save us all.
nightmare before christmas, corpse bride, big fish and edward scissor hands all great movies. I saw coraline, it was good, but i didnt like it as much as others.
Just a little correction... Sorry, but it bothers me a bit when Tim Burton gets credit for another's work... Actually, it bothers me when anyone gets credit for someone else's work.
Tim Burton had nothing to do with Coraline. It was directed by Henry Selick. I understand why people would think it was a Tim Burton film, because it looks like it has a lot of Burton's twisted style, and perhaps the similarities between The Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline (in terms of how the movies look) throw people off.
If you don't know who Henry Selick is, or what movies he worked on, here's a nice link that you can check out.

#1 favorite is Sweeny Todd
#2 The Nightmare Before Christmas.
#3 Corpse Bride.
Tim Burton is a really good film maker. Its a tough choice to say which movie of Tim's is my favorite between Sweeney Todd and Nightmare Before Christmas. I'll just stick with both of as my favorite movie.
Girl: Do i ever cross ur mind
Boy: No
Girl: Do you like me?
Boy: Not really
Girl: Do you want me?
Boy: No
Girl: Would you cry if I left?
Boy: No
Girl: Would you live for me?
Boy: No
Girl: Would you do anything for me?
Boy: No
Girl: Choose--me or ur life
Boy: my life
The girl runs away in shock and pain and the boy runs after her and says...
The reason you never cross my mind is because you're always on my mind.
The reason why I don't like you is because I love you.
The reason I don't want you is because I need you.
The reason I wouldn't cry if you left is because I would die if you left.
The reason I wouldn't live for you is because I would die for you.
The reason why I'm not willing to do anything for you is because I would do everything for you.
The reason I chose my life is because you ARE my life

I agree with James D big fish was a great movie. It told a very good story about a son trying to figure out his father before he died. The way Burton did the film was amazing go see it if you haven't you'll not be dissapointed
I think The Nightmare Before Christmas was his best and I also liked Sleepy Hollow. I tried watching Sweeney Todd and I got bored in the first ten minutes.I'll watch it eventually though.
