Can anyone tell me if it's anything like the X-Men movies?
Cause although I really like the modern mythology around X-Men, the movies were kind of boring in terms of storyline, imo.
Whole movie was a mess, so many plot holes and pointless scenes and them pointles scenes not leaving enough room to develop character for gambit and deadpool. Seriously this film could have been made of win if they just included them more =/
Such a shame as Wolverine, Gambit and Deadpool/Wade are like my fav marvel characters.
And the SFX were dog shit, i mean seriously they could have just used the same claw effects that they used in xmen1,2 and 3 but noooooo

Crao Porr Cock8: Getting it while the getting's good
dude, it's not like the x-men movies.. this movie
only focuses on logan.. and his past.. kinda lol'd at the part
when logan was running around naked in the farm of two
old people and in the back of the car of the old people
says : not all who wander are lost.. and the part
where the big dude grow bigger..and his tattoo on his arm grew
fat as well.. the movie has its serious
moments.. but i liked the comic moments better..
it's balanced and nice.. didn't see the part where the old
people were killed, though.. got to make a bathroom break.
I didn't expect the old people to die, that made me sad. Then I saw it was Agent Zero and I started hating that guy. He was so cool at the beginning though. My favorite part of the movie was Deadpool's line: *Elevator stops* "Great. Stuck in a small elevator with 7 other guys on a high-protein diet....dreams do come true..."
Just see it yourself. I personally liked the X-Men movies, and I liked Origins.. so chances are you will hate it. In my opinion, it had a different essence than the X-Men movies. There are no schools or teenagers(unless you count Cyclops.. he's barely in it though). It's all about Wolverine's past and how he came to be. So I suppose it's more interesting than the X-Men movies. It sure as hell kicked X-Men 3's ass.
For what it was I think it was great and I can't beleive it was rated so low. I can't beleive deadpool ended up not being as bad ass as he could be but there is still room for some growth there, probably not though.
Over all in a stand alone movie it was great, adding the story into the events of the X-men Trilogy it was shite as Nix pointed out, way to many plot holes.
Still basising this film as a stand alone movie I thought it was well done and semi unpredictable. Gets a 4/5 stars for my rating.

Crao Porr Cock8! Need I say more!?My awards:
come on rocky you dont even know who played deadpool...that would be the amazing ryan Reynolds from Van wilder he rocks...
this movie definately had some goods parts like Gambit I have waited years to see him in one of the movies and he finally was...there was horrible special effects like when he was in the bathroom and looking at himself in the mirror they look so stupid...
deadpool in this was a hard ass but he is not dead if you have read all the comics you know this...and did everyone know they are making a deadpool movie im excited about it and of course Ryan Reynolds is in it...

I recently watched this and have to say it was pretty good.
A friend had watched it and told me it was really bad, but I was positively surprised.
I don't give a damn about plot coherence with another medium. It's just an adaption, not a 1 to 1 copy.
At what counts is that it works by itself, which it did.
Sabretooth being Wolverine's brother was done very well.
And I never imagined Liev Schreiber of all people to turn into such a muscle man and look so mean all the time. But he played the role really well.
I also didn't find it horrible, but I also didn't find it inspirational.
It really just felt like they made it to make it, and there wasn't anything that happened that made me happy that they did it.
Gambit was ok. The weird version of Deadpool was ok. It was sorta kinda interesting that we saw Xavier pick up a collection of X-men, presumably his first class. I guess I enjoyed the relationship between Sabertooth and Wolverine, although I'd like to see how they bridge this movie to their encounter in X-Men.
On the decidedly downside, I was very confused over how they used Silverfox. I thought they should have simply killed her and not had her waffle back in as some sort of reluctant particpant in a weird plot.
And the plot was odd. So Stryker used Sabertooth to piss off Logan so that Logan would volunteer to get Adamantium, so that Stryker could use him for some unknown purpose after wiping his memory. I don't know, that's ok, but I didn't really ever feel the significance of it. It felt odd.
And how does Stryker get away with killing a general so that he's allowed to continue his operations in time for X-Men 2?
