I find both RE movies to be absolutely ridiculous. I mean yes the premise is for sure, but I'm saying everything that happens is too. Zombie movies are cool and I like alot of them, but this one kinda tries to be too bad ass, such as when Milla or Alice goes through the church window doing a backflip shooting her guns. I kinda found them to be over glorified. I really think if they made it more serious and less uber intense action oriented it could be better. Such as Jill in the mansion or Leon or Claire in the RPD, great idea for a movie. Don't get me wrong I lauged at some of the god awful lines like "GTA motha ****a" but c'mon you can do better.

Ah well you can't winem all in the end I guess. Maybe the 3rd will be better.

Oh great! Just what the series needed. Just when I hoped they got some dollars and cents on their bank accounts to make the third one better, they wanna make it even worse
Granted.. I enjoyed the two first ones, despite their limited budgets, but now.. when I see what they spend it on.... frankly... I'm not very impressed, at all.

Sure, there will be zombies, guns, crowattacks and whatnot but Alice (Milla Jovovich) is getting more and more super human powers..... WHY??? It will just ruin it ;_;;
This is not Superman 4, this is Resident Evil, a series of movies based of an action/horror survival game series. With humans fighting for their survival not some super human who simply beats up the zombies with her bare hands....

And now... Ashanti..... What she gonna do? R&B the zombies to death?
I don't think I wanna see the third movie anymore....

Ugh... The first one was awesome. The second one blowed. Hardcore. Well, with the exception that they portrayed Nemesis EXTREMELY well. But as for the movie: Suck.

And now the third one's gonna suck, too, huh? Well... great. If they butcher the Silent Hill film in this manner as well, I will not be posting in the forum much, having committed suicide... -_-

they are just the best i have now seen both after looking 4 the second 4 ages eventauuly brought it. it was a sgood as the 1st and ive heard a rumor of a third but dunno wether it is true??

a rumour? oh no, amigo it's real. i'm pretty sure it comes out in a couple months. theres a teaser trailor out for it now.
i really hope after this franchise is done, maybe a indie film production company will get the rights to it, and make a more to the game, movie.
and get this the 3rd installment won't be the last, there's an already slated 4th movie apparently in the works after this one is done.

as for H.U.N.K hunk was never in the 2nd movie or any movie for that matter. and i think itd be best if he stays that way. unless its a cutscene from the game.

The movies were pretty cool. I like the first one alot better than RE: Apocalypse. The second one seemed a little cheesy with people jumping over 12 foot fences and what-not. Although the fight scene between Mila Jovovich and the dude that played her boyfriend in the first one was pretty cool. I think they should make another one.

They were very good movies. I'd probably place them in my top twenty, at least. They had a decent storyline, decent characters and they were non-stop action.

Oddly enough, something that really made me appreciate these films was watching the making of them. They put SO much effort into this. And NONE of those monsters are CGI. That giant.. Thing in the first? That's mechanical, however fake it looks. They spent a very long time trying to make it work so all the 'muscles' would move just right, instead of putting the basic formula into a computer.

Same with those nasty dogs. They were real dogs with makeup! They're actually... Very cute XD. I saw one getting all of it's gristle and muscle attatched and it and it just had the sweetest look in its eyes... Poor dog ><.

And nothing was greenscreened, really. I remember the director actually saying "You know all the cuts and bruises we see on Milla near the end? Those aren't makeup at all. Crawling accross metal grates like that is physically degrading."

I appreciate a movie alot more when I know how much work's been put into it.

That is a shame to put all that effort into something only to see it sink. It might have benefitted from better lighting. The movies were alright, good in their own way, but the storylines and such have nothing on the games after the first one. The fact that Claire is in it gives me hope. She was such a tough cookie in the games, if a bit whiny. At least she actively looked for her brother rather than stay in a reletively safe place.

As for 'Hollywood names', I saw a movie with a singer doing her first role: Alisha Keys did wonderfully... and perhaps Ashanti shall as well. Ashanti is one of the prettiest singers I've heard.

I loved how they tied into the main title games (with the exception of RE4)
I haven't seen the 3rd movie yet i hope its not disappointing, going to rent it this weekend

The movie is ment to be an adaption of the game, otherwise the whole point of doing it is deemed pointless.

The main protagonist is a super powered chick who isnt even in any of the games, the whole introduction of her super powers eradicates the whole "survival horror" theme, The main thing thats with resident evil.. none of you see a problem with this?

One the one hand they really suck bad, like Uwe Boll bad, but on the other hand, the series has some pretty ****ty entires that are in no way better than the movies.

I personally felt the first Resident Evil movie offered a lot. It was a great watch from start to end. The disappointing part was when I watched the second movie. I was very displeased with it.

I forgot about this thread heh. As I said on a previous post I liked the first two for what they where, movies. I went in with very low expectations because it was a game adaption and can say I wasn't to disappointed for doing so. I knew they would flub up the games and really didn't tie to much time into trying to combine what happened in game and on the screen.

As for the 3rd, it was shit. Simply put and nothing more to add.

Still haven't seen degeneration yet. I will eventually make my way to watching it but after part 3 I have got into no rush for it.

And now onto part 4 of the Milla series of RE movies, given there isn't much detail out right now I don't think I will be watching it until it comes out of DVD or possibly the Chiller Channel. Resident Evil: It was okay, nothing special about it really...

Resident Evil: Apocalypse: Sucked, just purely sucked.

Resident Evil: Extinction: I don't see why this was made and was the worst of the bunch.

Resident Evil: Degeneration: Oh god, now this one was awesome, It scared the s**t out of me and kept me interested. There were characters from the previous games so you could follow the story with them, Leon for instance. (Oh which were not poorly acted like the previous titles.) If you can buy this movie or just watch it on the internet, if your a fan of Resident evil 4 you'll love it.
