    Repo! The Genetic Opera!

Okay, now if you told me that you were to make a musical about robbing graves to harvest a uphoric drug and inject people with it to preform surgeries, I'd think you were mad...

However, this formula worked nicely for this movie! I really liked it. It had a almost beliveable storyline, (What with all the sergeries becoming a fad) and some great songs.

Has anyone else seen this movie? Anyone else actually like it?

Yeah, Violent introduced me to it long ago, before it was even released, actually. I have to say, with a nice healthy cast and catchy songs I think it was grossly underrated. And to give it a razzie or two was a bit much.

I was hoping for a sequel, but now that I think about it, it's prolly best there isn't going to be one.

I have tried to watch it a few times but have been unsuccessful to actually complete the whole thing. From what I saw it was very unique but I can't actually say that I liked it per se seeing I haven't seen the last 1/3-1/4 of the film.

Over all from what I did see I was pretty impressed with the originality of the whole flick and I intend on finishing it up soon. I will add more when I actually can critique the whole film in its entirety instead of this half ass would be could be response.

    Re: Repo! The Genetic Opera!

This is very weird. I was watching Saw IV, V and VI today, and this film appeared in the previews before the main menu, and I made the mental note to watch it eventually. Then, now that I'm done with my Saw watching, I pop on here and this thread has the latest post in Television and Movies. Something must really want me to watch this movie...

The preview was an interesting concept. I've not really enjoyed a musical since Sweeney Todd (I'm pretty grim, yar...), so we'll see. I'll definitely look this film up to watch, and come back with more input.

    Lol, Synchronicity.

It's certainly as grim as Sweeny Todd, but it's also very campish and has a gallows sense of humor. It calls itself a goth opera, idk about that, but in all events it's very funny, a little sad and NOT necessarily a horror movie at all. DO NOT expect that, because unless your definition is vastly different than mine, it's not a horror.
