Doctor Who

I guess this is a mainly American site. I know the show is popular there but obviously more so in England.

But are many members here fans? I really love the show and you can probably tell from my avatar lol

And remember his name is the Doctor. Not Doctor Who lol

But yeah, 4 series' so far. Series 4 has definitely been the best one, with Series 2 the weakest. What do you guys think?

I larve Doctor Who. Previous to this set, Donna was my sig and avy subject. I am a Doctor Who nerd. =D

I've been a fan since before the new series began, watching the old series on the ABC. I love the show.

Personally, I felt Series Two was the best so far. At the beginning I was wary of David Tennant as the Doctor, but he quickly grew on me. Billie Piper was fantastic as Rose, and those two together made an excellent team. I loved nearly every episode (Love and Monsters was bad.) and fell in love with the characters. Not in a literal sense.

I felt Series Three was the weakest. It lacked the feel of the other series, and I didn't like a majority of the episodes. I mean, I enjoyed them, but not on the scale of the other series. I felt Daleks in Manhattan was less epic than it should have been for a Dalek episode, and the finale was also less epic.

Series Four was a great series though. I loved Catherine Tate as Donna. Donna was funny, witty and I generally loved her. It was a breath of fresh air, having an assistant who didn't fancy the Doctor. The finale was also epic. =D

It's okay. I'll be honest in that I haven't been able to make it much past Christopher Eccleston's Doctor. He is my favorite and at the end of his tenure, my interest in the series wavered. I'll watch it if it is indeed on, but I will not go out of my way to view it.

But it's an okay series.

Also, I believe there was a movie made of it, where they said that his name was "Doctor Who". But it was a horrible movie and by no means canon.

I have no doubt, however, if I were to watch the series in bulk, I would absolutely love it. But time and availability happens to be an unfortunate factor, especially here in the states.

Yeah it was great to see that Donna only wanted friendship. As she said, there's probably a law against human-alien relations lol.

That was the problem with Series 3 though. After the New Earth episode things were great but then Martha was doing the puppy-dog eyes at the Doctor non-stop, not to forget how obsessed she was with him in the 1913 episode. That was just annoying.
It seemed like Martha filled the void that Series 2 Rose left. She learned about the science part quickly as she was clever but took Series 2 Rose's spot of wanting him to be her boyfriend.

And I say Series 2 Rose as in Series 1, the 1st Dalek sees that the Doctor loves Rose although that's clearly as friends. As seen with Martha later, the Doctor only wants friendship from his assistants, mainly due to the extreme pain of losing someone that would be much worse if it was a romantic partner.

But in Series 1. Rose and the Doctor are just great friends. In Series 2. Episodes like The Impossible Planet and even in a way, School Reunion, show that Rose wants more. And of course the events that lead to the end of Series 4 prove that completely.

But thank god Donna didn't want it. Just because David Tennant is a younger actor, although not The youngest actor to play the Doctor, shouldn't mean every girl he's with should fancy him.

But it's interesting when he actually feels something for a woman as more than friends.

S1 E2 - The woman of that tree-like species. There's a definite bond and if she hadn't died then they'd have most likely become a couple.
S1 E12 and E13 - Same goes for Lynda with a Y. When she suggests that she stays with him after they've gotten out of Satellite 5/Game Station, that look on his face says it all
