Trophies screwed up my RE5 save file.

Ok so I am curious as to if this has ever happened to another PS3 owner.

I was at chapter 6-2 on Resident Evil 5. I got curious as to what trophies I had achieved and exited the game and went to view the trophies.

Sure enough I had about 65% of them. I turned off the system to spend some time with the wife.

Flashforwards to about 3 minutes ago. I turn on my system and go to load the game. All the sudden a black screen pops up and says

"An error has occurred. (8001050F)"
The another screen poped up
"Failed to install trophies. Please exit your game."

I went to check my trophies again and sure as hell enough they are GONE!

So now I am screwed, I havent been on PSN lately to upload all my data, my trophies are gone and the game won't play.

I know I can delete my save file and start over again (hopefully) but I was curious as to if anyone knew how to bypass this stupid error and let me continue on playing?????!?!?!?!

Any help would be appriciated!!!

Deleted save file and the problem still wasnt fixed. Deleting the actual game data now......... See if that works........

:: edit 2 :: apparently this is a glitch due to the time clock and leap year.

Eep, I was reading this hoping I could provide a good answer for you before you did anything drastic. :S

I saw the article on IGN a little while ago.

Hopefully there is a way they can restore your trophies at least, Meier. You would have thought this would never happen again after Y2K. ****ing clocks. Who needs em?

Just thought I would post this for people following the delima.

Sucks because I already wiped RE5 completely off of my 60 gig thinking it was part of the problem. When I get it back up and running is there anyone that wants to get rid of some upgraded weapons???!!!?? Have to start over from the begining.

Well that explains the issues I was having yesterday. Nothing as major as yours, just connection problems. Hopefully I didn't mess up my AC2 save, though I rather doubt it. Doubly hopeful that they get this bug sorted out quick.

I was having problems with installing demo's and PSN games... This must be the issue.

I bought Heavy Rain on Sunday and I also had a problem with installing that. I was going to take my PS3 to see someone because of the problems. Thanks for the info guys.

I wonder if you can load a PS3's hardisk from a computer. In that case you would be able to recover the save files by using a special program (There's Nero's Rescue Agent for example).

Sony promised that they will solve the issue within 24 hours.
