FFVII (psone classic dl) freeze up

I had an error when I was playing Final Fantasy VII, made it up to the first battle against Ultima Weapon in Mideel and during the battle the game froze up. Is this a common issue with the PSN download? or could this be some other issue? I haven't had any other problems with the game besides today with it freezing up on that part.

Never experienced freezes unless I was playing using custom firmware (which I no longer do) I sugguested double checking that your firmware is at the latest version and saving regularly. I've played through many ff titles from start to finish on psp and never experienced a freeze.
