Yeah I agree, the ps3 is more aimed toward people 17-24 and they aren't going to be able to afford $400.

I'm sure that if they dropped the price by even fifty dollars, the number of systems bought would dramatically increase. I've been drooling over SH5's gameplay videos, and I know I won't be able to play it for a long time. The graphics look simply amazing and it just isn't fair.

If I have to wait to long I might just have to do something drastic, sell a kidney... break into target and steal one, I don't know.

Is it true that 0rigins is out in Japan and America now?

I haven't even seen it here in England... Which is annoying since America and England usually have similar release dates for things...

    0rigins is well overdue now.

I wonder if Silent Hill 5 will be annoyingly delayed, too...

Yep, it's true. It's out here. I was literally holding a copy of it just the other day at Best Buy. I couldn't buy it though because I'm broke.

Also, I joined another forum at a Silent Hill site. I already mentioned Wish House. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll PM you the address since the whole link thing is a no no here.

    Lot's of interesting stuff!

    Sounds cool!

...You held 0rigins?! I've been waiting a billion years to touch the game. However, since I'm also broke, I won't be doing any touching of any kind.

I do want to a job next year (although it's next to impossible until I have my college degree). In any case, I still won't be able to get 0rigins. First, I have to pay back a good friend, then I'm using the rest for savings for the flat my boyfriend and I should be moving into come 2009.

    It's a looong road til 0rigins. =(

Origins is another thing. I don't have a psp and don't intend to get one, I feel like i can live without Oigins. To me it just looks to different, maybe more action oriented. I'd have to think about it, some other psp games look good though. Once I have enough money I may have buy one, but after I get a PS3.

Yeah... The PSP is far too small for the entire "Silent Hill" experience...

Now, should you take into thought one of those great plasma-television things, all accessorized with complete surround-sound speakers and whatnot... THAT is an experience any Silent Hill fan would orgasm over. Lucky me, one of my best mates is a rich bastard... Silent Hill 4 has never been so... AMAZING.

Oh, and Chez: I LOVE your signature. n_n

    Wow, sounds awesome!

About a month ago, I was replaying Silent Hill 3, and I had the volume up pretty loud... My God, I never realised JUST how many evil sounds were hidden in that game if you turn it up to about 75%.

There's banging, clanging and whispering... Which I always knew about, but there's even more when it's loud-ass shit!

And thankee, Kyo... I made the signature last year, but it still makes me laugh. XD Sad, really, laughing at my own lame jokes.

This isn't Silent Hill related, but I like your avatar, I giggled.

That site I was telling you guys about had a contest for Silent Hill 0rigins. You had to write an original story about Silent Hill that could be game-worthy. I entered the contest...and won! I'm being sent a free copy of Silent Hill 0rigins!

Also, someone over at the Silent Hill site posted news about a brand new SHV trailer featuring gameplay and everything. Here is is:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMQbuBBIRxE

    AND

Here is the story entitled "Silent Hill: Bloodlines" which I wrote for the Silent Hill 0rigins contest. Enjoy!

    CHAPTER 1

It's been years since I've taken a picture that I'm actually proud of. There are only so many sunsets and grey skies that you can shoot until it just gets repetitive. It wasn't until about six months ago that I started scouting my town and surrounding areas for that perfect picture. At first, there were a few candid photos that I took that I thought I might like, but I didn't. Now, I can't even take candid pictures anymore. It's kind of difficult to take pictures of unsuspecting people when they see you in the same place everyday.

When I go home at night, I lay sleepless in my bed, staring at the ceiling, wondering what I'm doing with my life. Every single day seems like a copy of the previous day. I haven't even driven my car in close to three weeks. I walk everywhere I go with my camera. Maybe once I take a picture that I'm happy with, I'll be able to sleep.

Sleep seems like an impossible task, so I sit up in bed and put my shoes back on. Walking over to the window, I stick my finger in between the blinds and take a look outside. It's raining and the yellow-ish orange street lights aren't showing any signs of vehicles or people walking around. So I grab my coat and my camera and head out the door into the rainy night.

    CHAPTER 2

Almost immediately out of the door, I look up and take a picture of the street light and the rain falling down. I pause for a moment to look at the picture on the camera. It's crap. What a surprise. I walk past the closed diner just at the end of my block and around the corner. There's an alley just up ahead and across the street, so I head towards it and walk about a quarter of the way in.

It's pretty much completely dark and all that I can see is the shimmering of the rain on some garbage bags and other various things that I can't make out. I hold up my camera and peek through the lens.

    Flash.

    It's crap.

    Flash.

A picture worthy of the trash can.

    Flash.

An old man standing a foot away from me, staring me right in the face.

I stagger back and my heart skips what feels like a thousand beats. All that you can hear is the sound of my heavy breathing and rain running down from a gutter onto a thin piece of metal somewhere in the alley. I can't even see the old man standing there, but I know he's no more than a foot in front of me in the darkness. I haven't heard him even so much as make a move.

    CHAPTER 3

After catching my breath, I lifted the camera to my face again. With my right hand trembling, I snapped a picture into the darkness again. This time, the camera showed no signs of the old man. Just a bare alleyway stretching forward and around the building to my right. Maybe it's time that I head back to my house and call it a night.

When I get back home, I set my camera and coat down on the table and head back to my bedroom. Sleep wasn't going to come easy tonight, so I reach into my nightstand and take out my recent addiction. The guy that I got it from calls it PVT. They're in pill form, but I think it's just been compressed due to the residue that it leaves on my fingers when I fish one out of the bottle. I've been taking these for about a week now. They seem to do the trick.

After I swallow one down, I stretch out on my bed and close my eyes. After what seemed like thirty seconds, I open my eyes when I hear the sound of a scrub brush next door. I peek through the blinds and lost my breath for a second. It's daylight! I can't quite see what's causing the noise that woke me up, so I walk out of my bedroom and into the living room.

What I saw next was the most confusing thing that I've ever seen...

All over the walls were these drawings. Drawings of people in blazing fire, people in agonizing pain. These looked like children's drawings. On my refrigerator were symbols that I had never seen and little shoe prints that ran around in circles around my coffee table. I peeked around the corner to look at my front door. There were hundreds of arrows, both drawn and scratched into the walls, pointing at my door. On the walls, ceiling and floor...all pointed at my door.

I cautiously approached the door and looked around my now destroyed living room. I paused. The scrubbing sound stopped. I reached out and grabbed the door handle and slowly started turning it to go outside. All of a sudden, there was a pounding on the other side of my door and I froze.

    CHAPTER 4

I opened the door and took a step back. It was my neighbor and he seemed to be pretty upset. He stood at the door for a minute, his face red with anger, staring at me. I asked him what was wrong.

"Oh, I know exactly what's wrong! These god damned parents don't know how to discipline their kids anymore! Look at this!" he yelled.

He was pointing to his left, towards his house. I cautiously stepped outside and looked to my right where he was pointing. Chills shot up my spine when I saw what he was referring to. His house was covered in children's graffiti! Similar to the scribbles etched all over my living room walls, there were people burning alive and a few symbols here and there. I walked to the other side of his house. On the side not facing my house, the word "burn" had been written what looked like thousands of times.

I told my neighbor to stay put and that I would go to the police station to file a report. I went back home and back into my bedroom to grab my jacket. It wasn't where I'd left it on the bed. I must have put it in the closet and forgotten all about it. So I walk over to my closet and open the door.

Terror and confusion wrap me in it's recently all-too-familiar blanket yet again.

There are polaroid pictures covering the back wall of my closet. Below the pictures on the floor, several small, used pieces of colored chalk. In these pictures, a child is drawing on several different walls...my walls...and I'm standing next to her watching!

Dozens of thoughts race through my head at once.

    I don't have a polaroid camera.

I'm wearing the same clothes that I'm wearing in those pictures.

    That little girl looks familiar.

That chalk matches the color of the drawings in my living room and my neighbor's house.

My hands and face are numb.

    Everything is blurring together.

    I'm going to faint.

    Then...there was darkness.

    CHAPTER 5

I must have fainted. I can't see anything but darkness. It feels like I'm awake, but I know that I'm not. This feels like an intermission, as though I'm being held here...waiting. I don't know how long I've been unconscious. I try to open my eyes and snap out of it. Everything is blurry and my head is pounding. I continue struggling to open my eyes and sit up, rubbing the back of my head. I must have hit it when I passed out.

Everything is a grey-ish white and details are slowly coming into focus. I'm not in my room anymore. I have no idea what time it is or where I am. After my vision starts to focus a bit more, I can make out objects in the room. It appears as though I'm in a child's room. The room is light blue and white, which hints that this is a boy's room.

In the corner sits a crib. Above it is a mobile which is clearly old, yet it has been taken care of. There are various infant's toys placed neatly about the room. However, there was a light haziness to the room, though very well kept.

In the corner by the crib, a woman is sitting in a dark stained rocking chair, looking out the window, which appeared to show nothing but a dull whiteness. She appeared to be roughly my age, give or take a year or two. Her hair was brown and roughly mid-back length. Her skin was pale, but not an unhealthy pale, it was almost flawless.

She was wearing a formal black thigh-length leather jacket and black slim fitting gloves. Underneath, she wore a white collared shirt with faint black pin stripes and a regular black women's dress pants. She was dressed nicely, although a bit dark.

I looked at her for a moment as she stared out the window with her chin in her hand. At one point, she must have noticed me sitting up out of her peripheral vision because her eyes glanced in my direction. She looked back to the window for a moment and then at me. She smiled.

    "You're awake."

I was still rubbing the back of my head when she started talking. I glanced around the room again.

    "Where am I?" I asked.

Still smiling, she stood from her chair and walked over to me, lending me a hand and helping me off of the floor. As I was dusting myself off, she began to speak again.

    "You're pretty far from home."

She said this with a glance as she walked past me and towards the door. Just as she grabbed the door handle to exit the room, I asked her again.

    "Seriously, where am I?"

The woman paused at the now half open door, looking back at me. Her smile faded and she seemed to have a look of regret on her face as if she dreaded telling me.

    "Silent Hill." she replied.

    CHAPTER 6

After she told me where I was, she exited the room. I stood in the same place for a moment, thinking. I've never heard of a town called Silent Hill and that woman didn't look familiar at all. I had too many questions that I wanted answered and I had just woke up...

    Who was that woman?

Why am I in Silent Hill?

    How did I get here?

How do I get back home?

I put my hand on the doorknob to leave when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. There was a polaroid camera sitting on a small table along the wall. I walked back over to it, picked it up and hung it from my neck by the strap and headed out of the room.

When I exited, I noticed I was in a hallway. The haziness grew tenfold out here. Was this some kind of fog or mist? It didn't seem to move very much. Just stayed suspended in the same place. Everything out here was nothing like the room that I was just in. It looked as though this house had not been touched in years. There was wallpaper stained with age hanging from the walls, debris all over the floor, cracks and holes in the ceiling and what furniture was left was destroyed.

The smell wasn't pleasant, either. It was a thick musty smell the seemed to hit me right in the bottom of my stomach. As I walked down the hallway, I glanced into each room. By the condition of this house, it was difficult to tell what any of these rooms were.

At the end of this hallway was the exit to this house. There was no door on it anymore, so I could see outside, well, if you could call it "seeing". As I got closer, I noticed that this fog was even thicker outside. I stopped in the doorway for a moment to let my eyes adjust to my new settings when I noticed an envelope laying on the stairs leading down from the front exit.

I kneeled down to pick it up and examined the front of it. It said "Jonah". I opened it to see that there was a letter and a page from a brochure with a map inside. It said:

    "Jonah,

Meet me at the post office on the corner of Crichton and Koontz. There is a map enclosed in this envelope. Be careful."

After reading the letter, I tucked it into my back pocket and kept the map in my hand. Who is Jonah? Maybe he or the person who wrote this is at that post office. Maybe they can help me find my way back home. I suppose there's really only one way to find out...

    CHAPTER 7

I examined the map and looked around at my surroundings. I could barely make out the police station to my left and there was a street to my right, almost next to me. According to this map, I'm on Sagan and that street next to me is Wilson. Alright, if I head up Wilson street, I should run right into Koontz, then I'll need to take a right. If I just keep going straight, I'll see the post office to my right. Got it. Straight, right, straight, post office. Got it.

I start walking down Wilson street, looking around taking note of things just in case I happen to get lost. This fog is really getting thick. It's difficult to make out much of anything through it now. Nothing is really distinguishing here. Fences, boxes, trash cans, buildings.

Slowly, I can see a street sign that reads "KOONTZ ST.". I turn right around the corner onto Koontz. Just a straight shot now. As I get close to what looks like a big hospital to my left, I hear what sounds like a voice and odd footsteps. I follow the sounds until I make out the shape of what looks like something staggering around and someone on the ground in a defensive position.

As I get closer, I can see everything in detail...all of the horror in front of me. There's a man in old looking clothing on the ground in absolute terror. In front of him, approaching him, is this sickly creature. I can't see it perfectly, but it's staggering around, weaving it's head back and forth. It doesn't have any arms and it's legs are crooked and stumbling about. It lets out a shriek that sends chills down my spine.

The man lets out a cry and crawls backwards. I run as close as I can to him without this creature in front of him noticing. It doesn't see me, so I yell to the man to get up and run.

"Oh! Thank God! Please...help," said the old man.

He turned to look at me and his expression turned from fear into fury.

"YOU! ABOMINATION! YOU MUST BE DESTROYED!" the man screamed.

As he yelled this, he got to his feet, completely ignoring the creature and approaching me as if he wanted to hurt me. I started to back up. The creature started walking towards him, now behind him.

"YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS HERE! THE PURE SHALL VANQUISH THE WRETCHED!" he screamed at me.

The man lunged forward, grabbing my shirt. His face was so close to mine that I could feel the heat of his breath. As I started to struggle to break free from his grip. I heard a voice to my right yell.

"THIS WAY! RUN!" yelled the voice.

I looked over and noticed that it was the woman from the room that I woke up in. I struggled to break free and then finally pushed the man off of me where he fell to the ground. I stepped back and he started getting up again. Quickly, I turned to run towards the woman, leaving the man and the creature behind me. Before I knew it, I was running behind the woman from the room that I was in.

She quickly ran into the post office doors and I followed behind her, locking them as they shut. I quickly scanned the room, looking for something to block the glass doors. I spotted a bench and pushed it against the glass doors as fast as I could, took a few steps back and started catching my breath.

In the distance, the man that attacked me was approaching the doors. I took a few steps back and he grabbed ahold of the door handles from the outside, trying to open them to get in. He started hitting the glass with his hands and yelling.

"EVIL! YOU HAVE NO PLACE ON THIS EARTH DEMON!" he screamed.

As he pounded the glass, he must have forgotten about the creature that was after him earlier, as it was approaching him from behind. The creature stopped roughly twenty feet from him and let out a scream. The man immediately stopped hitting the glass and turned around.

Almost immediately after the man turned to face it, the creature's chest projectile spewed this thick and yellow-ish substance all over the front of the man. He stood still for a moment and then slowly turned around to face us and I almost threw up.

The entire front half of the man's body was now completely missing it's skin. All could be seen, his entrails, muscles, bones, veins. It must have happend so quickly that his brain was still functioning due to the fact that he slammed his muscle-exposed hand against the glass one last time. The impact of the hit must have jarred his innards as what appeared to be his lower intestines started spilling out onto the ground, shortly followed by him collapsing to his knees and laying face up in front of the doors, dead.

The creature let out a shriek, turned around in a drunken manner and walked off into the fog.

In horror, I look over at the woman. She doesn't seem as disturbed by this as I am. She looks at me, then there is seconds of complete silence.

    CHAPTER 8

After calming down a little bit, I walked behind the counter at the post office to get away from the doors. The woman followed, sitting down in one of the rolling desk chairs by me.

"How are you feeling?" she asked calmly.

I looked at her, then pointed towards the glass doors where the man had just been mutilated.

"I've been alot better! I'm not exactly used to that kind of thing!" I said.

She chuckled a bit, trying to cover her smile with her hand.

"You shouldn't feel sorry for him. He would have killed you without a second's notice." she explained.

I thought about the man attacking me just minutes before his horrible demise. She did have a point.

"Even so! Did you not see that creature out there?! What the **** was that thing?!" I said to the woman.

Her smile faded and a look of concern spread across the woman's face. She was quiet for a minute, just sitting and looking at me from the chair.

"Don't worry about them. You're safe, you have nothing to worry about." she said calmly.

I looked at the woman in disbelief. Her expression didn't change from her concerned look.

"You're going to try to tell me that I don't have to worry about some twisted, acid spitting creature that stumbles around and kills people?! Are you serious?! How in the hell could I possibly be safe unless I just stay locked up in here?!" I said in complete disbelief.

Her look of concern grew and she sat forward in her chair, looking up at me. She sighed.

"Listen, I know this is going to sound confusing, but those creatures won't hurt you because I..." she said before being interrupted by the sound of heavy glass being broken.

We both shot our heads in the direction of the glass doors. There were at least a dozen people dressed in similar attire as the dead man breaking in and yelling the same things that he was yelling. I can see several more people approaching in the distance through the fog.

The woman quickly stands up, tells me to follow her and runs through a back door. I run behind her and into a small alley.

"I'll distract them. Meet me at the Midwich Elementay School. Hurry! Go!" she said.

I glanced at my map. It's pretty much a straight shot. I sprint up Chrichton, turn down Sagan and sprint all the way across the bridge, down Ellroy and run out of breath on Bradbury, but I keep jogging. I can't hear any voices or people, though I spot the twisted shapes of those creatures now and again. In the distance, I see the street sign that says "MIDWICH ST". The school is almost directly behind it.

I use the last bit of breath I have left to sprint through the school yard and into the entrance. I lock the door behind me. As soon as I turn around, the woman from the post office is walking around the corner to greet me. How in the hell did she beat me here?!

"Have a seat. We don't have much time to talk." she says.

She points at a chair not far behind me. I pull it close to me and sit.

    CHAPTER 9

The woman sits down in another chair and looks at me. It looks almost like there are tears welling up in her eyes.

"I'm sure it's really hard for you to remember, isn't it, Jonah?" she said.

    I froze.

    Jonah?

I close my eyes. That name, when she says it, I get flashbacks. I see those pictures of that little girl in the pictures on my closet wall. She looks familiar...so familiar. That room...I remember it. It was my room. She had taken care of it herself for who knows how long. Why?

    Another flashback...

Something bad is going to happen to her. She knew it. She was just a little girl. The day that her mother, our mother, did what she did, this girl took me to the outside of town and told me to wait. I waited all day until I fell asleep. When I woke up, the road had been destroyed. There was no way to get back into Silent Hill. I knew what happened to her and she kept me from anything happening to me. Is she showing me all of this?

She was my sister. I was the completely neglected son. I would have been killed if hadn't been for my sister protecting me.

    My sister...

I opened my eyes when I felt little hands hold mine. It was the little girl from the pictures. It was my sister...

    "Alessa?" I said to her.

She smiled, a single tear ran down her face and she grabbed me, hugging me. I wrapped my arms around her. I can't believe this is happening. I can't believe that I am with my sister again. I close my eyes and sigh. She lets go and I open my eyes. She is an adult again, the woman I first met, my sister, Alessa.

"I'm glad to see that you're okay." she said.

I laugh, it's all too crazy. Then I look at her and smile.

    "Yeah, I'm okay." I said.

She smiled and her face grew serious.

"I called you here for a reason. The Order is growing again. They are the ones that did what they did to me so many years ago. They've figured out a way to completely do away with me. I can't let this happen. We don't have much time. I need your help, Jonah." she said.

    I nodded.

"What do I have to do?" I asked.

I could hear people outside now. It sounded like at least five times as many as before at the post office. Alessa glanced at the door and looked back at me.

"They've figured out a way to make me mortal again. Now, they'll try to do the job properly. To end me entirely. I need your help to stop that from happening." she said.

"And how am I supposed to do that?" I asked.

Alessa pointed at a busted pipe hanging from the wall.

"Take that pipe and guard me at all costs. I can bring forth those creatures that you saw and much more. Whatever emotions you are feeling, I will create more creatures from them. They won't hurt you or I. They will fight along side you. Remember that." she said.

As the noises of the crowd grew louder outside, I grabbed the pipe from the wall and gripped it tight. Standing back in front of Alessa, I turned to her and nodded. She gave a happy, yet twisted smile as if she was going to enjoy this.

The floor started to shake violently, causing debris to drop from the ceiling. Everything started to deteriorate around us. Metal rusted, paint cracked and furniture wilted. Then came the darkness...the kind of darkness that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy...well, except in this case, I suppose. In front of the door roughly twenty lumps of rotted flesh raised from the ground and started to take the shape of women. As it molded, one could see that it was taking the shape of nurses, however, these weren't your average nurses.

Their skin was destroyed, their clothes tattered and torn, they all held random sharp objects. And their faces, were difficult to explain. It was as though the faces were melted and smeared into unrecognizable messes and laced with scar tissue. Once they were all formed, they stood twitching, facing the door.

From around the corner, the sound of chains, slow footsteps and something heavy being dragged across the floor could be heard. Once this creature came into sight, somehow I knew that Alessa had created this from my emotions. The creature was tall and broad, roughly seven feet tall. The skin from around it's eyes had been pulled together and sewn shut so it couldn't see.

Behind it, the creature's arms were wrapped behind it's back with barbed wire. Around the barbed wire was a chain that was dragging a big concrete block that was probably about three feet tall and three feet wide. The creature's mouth was gaping open, saliva running clear to the floor. It's mouth was filled with rows of jagged, razor sharp teeth.

This creature stopped right behind the nurses. I turned back to Alessa and she smiled at me. She must have been proud of her newest creation.

Our shared glance was quickly interrupted by the school doors being busted open. Violently, the nurses sprung to life and the huge creature let out a deep roar that made my chest vibrate.

    CHAPTER 10

The first wave of the cultists rushed through the door. It was difficult to tell what exactly was happening at first. I could see pipes, pitchforks and various other objects being swung at the nurses. These nurses were a violent bunch. One of them had a woman pinned against the wall with a jagged piece of metal through the skin of her neck. Another had cut the pinned woman's stomach open and was pulling the flesh apart while blood, organs and various bodily fluids spilled to the floor below.

A man with a long white beard broke through the line of nurses right at me. As he raised his hand, I noticed he was holding a broken bottle and he was ready to swing it at me. I drew back with the pipe and hit him hard across the side of the head. He went down, but staggered back to his feet. This time, I hit him over the top of the skull. Again, he went down, but still managed to climb to his feet in an attempt to attack me. I lifted the lead pipe over my head and came down hard on top of his skull. He went down on his back.

Incredibly, he started trying to get to his feet again. I hit him dead center in the face. As I pulled the pipe back for another blow, I noticed that I had smashed out a majority of his teeth. He seemed to be choking on his own blood and tooth fragments. I didn't stop. I continued to smash his head in with the pipe until I felt the end of it connecting with the floor.

On the final blow, I tried to pull the pipe back but it was tangled in what was left of the man's skin and white beard. I looked straight in front of me to notice the last of the nurses was on the ground with another cultist above her with a pitchfork. He brought the pitchfork down and through the nurse. That was the last of them. Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted another cultist dashing towards me with a lead pipe. I struggled to pull my lead pipe free, but it was no use. It was tangled in the bloody mess of a man below me.

Out of nowhere, roughly ten feet in front of me, the hulking behemoth creature appeared out of nowhere. It swung it's body around, sending the massive concrete block flying through the air. It connected with the cultist, sending her flying, her head pressed against the concrete block until it smashed against the wall. The impact send debris falling from the ceiling. The concrete block had smashed her head against the wall so hard that it sent a shower of blood, brain matter and skull fragments spraying through the air, splattering all over Alessa and I.

In a quick, smooth motion, the massive creature spun back around and in mid-spin, grabbed ahold of the dead cultist's leg. The creature continued it's spin with the woman's leg in it's jaws, pulling her entire body from her head from under the concrete block and flinging about her body, sending a massive shower of blood over everything in the room. It let go, sending the body flying and smashing against the opposite wall.

Although impressive, this act didn't last long as a cultist approached from behind with a torch, setting the creature on fire. Being completely unable to use it's arms, it simply fell to it's knees fully engulfed in flames until it stopped moving completely.

We were defenseless now. Alessa seemed to be too weak to conjure up anymore creatures. I stood in front of her still. I gave the lead pipe a forceful yank, freeing it from the bloody mess at my feet. I gripped my weapon tightly as the last eight cultists made their way towards us across the bloody and organ covered floor. They surrounded me and the doorway that Alessa was in. My knuckles were white from gripping the lead pipe.

Just as I was about to swing, I heard an ear-piercing screech coming from outside the busted school doors behind the cultists. After a moment, it was clear that it was a dragging sound. Something metal...something very heavy. I could see the shape of something in the distance coming this way slowly. Some of the cultists turned their heads to look.

As it came closer, I could make out details through the fog outside of the doorway. A massive creature with a large helmet that could best be described as a pyramid. It was wearing what looked like a butcher's robe that was dirty and stained with layers of blood. It was coming though the doorway now.

Behind it, it dragged a huge sword. This was what was making all of the noise outside. The cultists were facing this creature in absolute terror. I turned to look at Alessa. She was smiling. She knew this creature was coming.

The massive creature was standing in the middle of the room now. It towered over everyone as it lifted it's huge sword behind it. Putting all of it's power behind it, the creature swung the sword counter clockwise towards the cultists, cutting through the wall and anything that was in it's path. One of the cultists took a step to run in the opposite direction, but it was too late. The intertia of the woman's upper torso sent it flying through the air as the sword sliced though her, the lower torso hitting the floor draining blood into a fast growing puddle.

The rest of the cultists didn't have a split second of reaction time to run away. They were all cut in half, their upper torso's falling to the ground. Some of their lower torso's still stood, spraying blood into the air, soaking Alessa and I as we stood and watched. We were surrounded by gallons of blood, both in the air and on the ground.

The massive creature stood completely still until every last limb hit the floor. It then lowered it's sword to the ground and then turned and slowly began walking out of the door. I stood still until all that could be heard was the faint sound of it's sword dragging across the pavement somewhere in the dense fog outside.

I turned and faced Alessa. She smiled at me.

"That should take care of them for quite awhile. Thank you." she said.

I couldn't force myself to smile given our surroundings.

"I'll walk you to the edge of town" she said.

We started walking. Not a word was exchanged as we passed through the foggy streets until we reached the town's entrance. When we stopped, I looked at Alessa again.

"So I guess this is it..." I said.

She nodded and approached me, grabbing the polaroid camera that I completely forgot was hanging around my neck. I slid the strap from around my neck and she sat the camera down on a nearby newspaper vending machine. She grabbed ahold of my arm standing next to me, smiled and looked in the camera's direction.

"At least try to smile for the camera?" she chuckled at me.

I could help but crack a smile. We both laughed for a minute until the camera flashed. Alessa wrapped her arms around my chest, hugging me. I hugged her back. After our last hug, she turned and started walking away into the fog. I didn't move.

Alessa turned, smiled and waved goodbye before she disappeared into the thick fog and I was alone again. I sighed, turned and started walking out of Silent Hill. The fog was getting thinner as I was putting distance between the town and I. Suddenly I remembered that I forgot the picture and stopped.

When I turned around, I realized that there was nothing but a massive drop-off in front of me. I couldn't even see the town through the fog from where I was. Just before I turned around to continue walking, something blowing across the opening in front of me caught my eye and landed just in front of me. It was the polaroid picture that Alessa took just a few minutes ago. I picked it up.

In the picture was Alessa and I. Neither one of us were bloody or wounded. There was no fog, there was no destroyed town. Just Alessa and I together laughing. In the background was a bright sun in blue skies. There was no Silent Hill in the picture. Just vibrant colors of landscape as far as the eye could see.

    I couldn't help but smile.

A photograph that I was happy with...

Maybe now I could get some rest.

Wow, I'm impressed. I wouldn't be able to write that quite as creative. I'm a horrible writter. I like how he got there, so strangly, like all Silent hill games. Not even expecting to end up there.

Your descriptions of the monsters are really cool too, especially in chapter 10.
The showers of blood was a nice touch too.

Wow... You have a gift for descriptive words... O_o

Really, though. I love it. That's one of the best Silent Hill FanFics I've ever read. ...I think that one of my favorite parts was when you described the acid melting the old cultist's skin off... entrails... Amazing. n_n

    Thanks Kyo and Sevion.

Has anyone else here played 0rigins yet? I just beat it. I've been playing it for awhile. It's not really a long game or anything. I think I've played it for about four hours or so total. It does have replay value, though. I won't ruin anything.

    HOWEVER!

You guys need to play it asap.

    I shall. I shall.

As I've said before, I'm still a wee bit short on fundings for my Silent Hill obsession... -_-

However... Tomorrow is PAYDAY! So, should I find myself with remaining money (after bills, and such) you can be assured that 0rigins will be mine for the taking!! n_n

Did you wind up getting 0rigins, Kyo?

    If so, what'd you think?

Another thing. Even for those of you that haven't had the chance to play it yet...has anyone here heard the soundtrack for it? It's really quite good and I'd say comes in at a close second with SH2's soundtrack.

This won't really be a long reply because it's been a long week and I've only just "rediscovered" the Internet if you will.

I haven't heard the soundtrack for 0rigins. If it's really that good, I may have to ask for it for my birthday. Long time away til then, but still.

Will have to check that out. Last Silent Hill I played was SH2 if I remember correctly. I was just meeting with Maria for the first time. I haven't played it in a while, but I'll have to replay soon!

Good news, guys! This news may be a couple of days old, but in case you haven't heard yet, I'll post it here!

Survival Horror Title Makes Transition from Handheld to Console

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - January 22, 2008 - Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. today confirmed speculation that Silent Hill® Origins, released last year for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system is in fact currently in development for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Now PlayStation 2 system owners will have the opportunity to experience this frightening and popular survival horror game, complete with signature sound and music from renowned Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka.

"Console gamers can now expect the same chilling, suspenseful and fear-filled experience that handheld gamers encountered when we released Silent Hill Origins on the PSP system," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "This is their chance to learn more of the mystery and mythos surrounding Silent Hill that's been hinted at in earlier games and made the series such a success."

Players take on the role of Travis Grady, a lone truck driver making a routine delivery when he makes an unfortunate detour to the mysterious town of Silent Hill. Players must help Travis escape the city's horrific inhabitants and unravel the mystery of the strange hallucinations from Travis' past, visions that have plagued him since childhood.

Updated controls maximize combat, allowing Travis to use his fists, his wits and an array of weapons including a meat cleaver, pool cue and sledgehammer to fight his way through the nightmarish world of Silent Hill and face multiple endings based on his actions.

For more information, please visit www.konami.com.
From what I understand, it's set for a March release date here in the states because it can already be pre-ordered. Other good news is that it's been listed in EGM that Silent Hill 5 is scheduled for a summer 08 release. Lots of good news!

    Wow.

That nurse looks like it just crawled out of the movie and into the game... Whilst I don't totally approve of that, you've got to credit the creators for making it look really ****ing real.

As for Alex... he looks good, and looks like a regular guy, but we all know he's a former troop... There's no problem with that, but I continue to be sceptical about his combat abilities... He'll have many of them and they'll be ones way more advanced of the others games' "press the weapon button and whack" technique.

I know for some of you, who are more interested in the action oriented parts of Silent Hill, this'll be good news, but it's one thing I won't budge my thoughts on until I have a chance to play this game and see for myself.

Also, in those screenshots... I find myself wondering if they're the new camera angles. I'm not overly stressed on this, in fact, I'm interested more than anything. It'd be cool to play Silent Hill a little more down to the characters' own level. Probably a lot more fear inducing as well.

Those monsters all look like worthy adversaries, and that's something that bothers me. I've always linked Silent Hill more to the storylines than to the actual batting the monsters over the head, but in Alex's case of being a war veteran, he's faced tougher adversaries in his life than the other characters. This does not bode well and leaves an omnious feeling in the air, which I'm sure the creators of this new installment were hoping for from the die-hard fans. (Of course in hopes of pleseantly surprising them.)

I obviously understand how they want to make everything seem more believable, and that's a great thing, but I will tire very easily from continous strategic battling (some of which I would hope only to use in some of my other, more action oriented games).

    I really hope and sincerely wish that the creators have not turned this into an action based game... I hope they have made this, conscious of Silent Hill's past and with as few enemies as the earlier games. I don't want to have to fight enemies in every room, especially after I heard what the new function of monsters is set to be like;

Evading monsters that notice your presence can lead them into following you into other areas?!?! It's a ten percent on the fright scale for sure, but maybe a little too overwhelming (depending of course on the nature of the difficulties of the battles.)

Sometimes there are monsters that are worth evading to ensure safety of the character. Whilst this is all well and good, I can see a endless run of battling and low stockage on weaponry and health equipment. If they're making this more into Metal Gear Solid; bandaging up wounds, performing gruelling tasks of first aid on yourself after every single battle... then I can see myself becoming easily bored.

This may be a stink bomb to the unsuspecting noses of some of my fellow Wish House'rs, but I have much sceptism about this game so far, namely the battle system.

I agree with the almighty Chez about the amazing realistic-ish graphics that the screenshots have, and I also have similar reserved feelings for the forecasted battle system and the overall "feel" of the game itself. However, I must also voice concern:

What the hell happened to the bloody FOG? I look at the city-street shots, and I cannot help but to notice a significant lack of that essential fog - that same fog what makes walking down a seemingly neverending street so, well, creepy. Seriously. Wot the ****?

    Does this not seem as an important of an issue to my fellow hardcore Silent Hill following...? It just BUGS me... -_-;

Despite the slight lack of fog, there is some still hanging in the air. In all truth, I like the fog, but I wouldn't mind less of it... In games like Silent Hill 1, 2 and 3, there's been an abundance of it... so much so, that it was slightly annoying. Of course, I wouldn't mind a little more in SHV... Don't mind me, I like the split hairs about Silent Hill sometimes.

So yeah, in my opinion, less than SH1, 2 and 3, and more in SHV.

    Yea... Some had a bit much, I can see your point... But... In those few screenshots, there is hardly ANY. It looks as if he were constantly smoking, but that's it. A light, barely visible veil... Ug. It's just... not Silent Hill! If it's gonna play off of a pre-existing theme, keep the basics at hand, at least! And the fog IS basic... dammit... >.<;

Yeah. I found it a little annoying... You never know, though, there's news of them constantly testing and messing around with stuff like the fog and the gore so once it comes out, there may actually be ample fog.

I'd kind of like to see what the games would look like with absolutely no fog. I know that there's a cheat on one of the game which can banish the fog, but I think it's for Xbox only...

Oh yeah man!! I got an email from To The Game with links to screenys from SH 5. Looks pretty damn ****** sweet!! The cell proc in the PS3 is awesome when it comes to process graphics.

I'd like to get a gun that actually works though, I mean you don't have a lot of bullets.. and it's other ways of making it challenging than give you the feel of fireing a pelletgun... Beating everything up with an iron bar gets a bit.. tedious eventually... *sigh..

Wow. I was in Silent Hill. Well, not literally, but I was in my dream yesterday!

It felt so real, like an actual Silent Hill game! I'll skip the intro, where we're interviewed by a psycho and given a chance at lying or telling the truth about ourselves [ref. me and two other people.]
It turns out he appreciated honesty and that I was the only honest one there, so I'd have more of an advantage over Pyramid Head, who was going to be chasing us around.

After that, though, I jumped in this guys' car and he took me to hospital, where I followed this girl around in a while. Then I stopped and said "this isn't right", but my companion was already gone.

I started running back through the main ward, but as I was doing so, it got darker and darker. There were nurses there, too, yet less vicious. I had to kick one in the stomach like three times until I gave up and ran past it. But then I looked back and somebody had a flashlight and was shining it around, but before I could meet whatever it was with the light, I pelted across the hospital at full speed until I found myself stuck in a pitch black little room with no way out of it.

But man, it was pretty cool. Wasn't the best Silent Hill dream I've had, but probably the most resemblent.

Hehe... I also had a Silent Hill experience of my own, driving home from work the other day. There was this DENSE fog (everyone knows how I love the fog...) and it was like, wot, 10-ish? Really dark outside? So I, driving with my knees, proceeded to immediately grab my CD case and pop in the Silent Hill 3 soundtrack... Ah... Bliss.

Wow Kyo! It was really foggy last time I went to see my boyfriend. About two hours of absolute fog. Was pretty amazing, but slowed my trip considerably.

Anyway, I don't know if I mentioned it to anybody here, but my mum paid for a cheap PS1 the other day. I finished Silent Hill 1 today. It was a lot different to what I remember it being. For example, I hadn't rememebered that the floor of the town in Otherworld was metal. And I don't remember that bit with the Larva worm. Weird shit.
I love the game, and it's lack of scariness to me these days is a little hilarious, especially when I'd first seen it when I'd been eleven and it had scared the crap out of me.

Although, I have to admit, the music was still frightening as ever.

The bit with Lisa still makes me sad, I have to admit!

I hadn't remembered how jumbled up the whole thing with Lisa had been. No wonder, I last saw through the whole game when I'd been eleven. I'm almost 20 now. Go figure.

Pretty big news (but fairly old news) concerning SHV...

Since I'm in a bit of a hurry, I'll just keep it very brief and come back to add more later.

Silent Hill V has officially been changed to "Silent Hill: Homecoming".

I'm not too sure if I like this new title to be honest, though I've seen a couple of gameplay trailers now and I must say that I'm pleased.

The next big announcement is about Alex. They've changed his look. Personally, I don't think it looks very good and I think they should go back to the original. Even if they don't, though, it wouldn't ruin the game.

To compare the two, check out the pictures.

    Old Alex.

    New Alex.

If you'd like to sign a petition to help get the old Alex back, the folks over at silenthill5.net have created a petition which is doing quite well.

    It can be found here.

Silent Hill Homecoming? Sounds like some kind of prom nightmare. -_-

I think they should've just titled it "Silent Hill 5". Not V, not Homecoming, not Silent Hill Five. Just Silent Hill 5. Now it's going to look stupid with the rest of the titles.

In any case, I sitll have faith in this game, even if I'll probably never get it thanks to lack of funds.

The game still looks really good, though. I found a (what sounds like) German video of actual gameplay footage with the "new" character. I have to say that I'm impressed!

You can download the video here.

Haven't played 0rigins yet, but I think I'm getting it for my birthday, w00t!

It's had pretty good reviews all around. Silent Hill 5 naturally looks awesome. Not sure about that female character, though. She seems a bit too tough and that'll annoy me. And I'm not keen on this idea of "Shepards Glen."

The hospital so far looks amazing... hoping there's not too many of those "make you jump" scares. 0rigins looks like it might, in Alchemilla... I'll know soon enough.

What are you TALKING about?? I absolutely LOVE the "make you jump" scares. That's when you know it's a GOOD scare...

Granted, though. The "ake you lie in bed at night thinking about the psycological horror" scares are pretty damn good, too.

As Silent Hill in general is jam-packed with such horrors, I'm sure neither of us will be too dsappointed. And if we are (forbid) I guess it'll just give us something to bitch about. But, on my account, if it's at all possible, I'd prefer not to bitch about much Silent Hill-related...
