This is a little something from back when i was a kid, that makes me laugh with myself every time. It's no act of vigilantism, but since the Greeks are up to no good brawls this period...

Well, i was in the 5th or 6th grade; no older than 10 years old. It was the birthday of a good friend of mine & he had a party with some kids from school at his place. There were also some albanian kids there & without my willing to sound racist or stuff, they were a pain in the ass...

I was playing PSOne with another kid, sitting down on the floor. Behind me, on the couch, there was one of those kids with a toy gun in his hands; the type that shoots small plastic balls (they hurt alot though). It was a phoney gun, golden colored, the type you can get with 3 euro; cheap stuff that break in an instant.

My friend's father enters the room & tells him to be carefull with that thing; he doesn't listen & loads the gun. Then, when i'm done playing, i get up & when i turn around, he shoots at me in the chest from a close range. Needless to say that the pain was unbearable...Then, i start crying & screaming & i jump over the small table they had there, on that kid on the couch. And the fight begins.

I start shouting & swearing while i punch him in the face with both hands alternatively. He's scared, but he tries to grab me from the neck, but with my being so angry, i scratch his arms & he lets my neck loose.

Then, for the "fatality" i grab his head from behind the ears & start hitting him against the couch's wooden top. I did it more than ten times.

It was my first fight against someone i didn't know & no one stopped me, not even my friend's father.
The funny part is that one of my best friends always avoids pissing me because he remembers that day back then. It's hilarious when he sorta tells the tale: "& then Mitsos (me) grabs his head & *bap* *bap* *bap* *bap* knocks him down. Man, i'm not fighting you." Well, what can you do, he's no more than 50Kg anyway..

Damn. I had something similar when I was younger.

Only, I got hit close range by one of those handmade guns, basically a curved bit of pipe you use to sling steel ball bearings at high speed. That really shited me off, and that was before I had any self control. The kid who did it, certainly wished he hadn't later. Funnily enough we're both mates now though and the only brawls we get in now are the light hearted drunked brawls, when he pisses a bunch of people off. Good times.

I think those pipe gun things are illegal here now, like fireworks and stuff. A few idiots can spoil some great things.......

Though it's sort of embarrasing, my last fight was last night with one of my mates over a mushroom. We're both big guys, but it was more of a scrabble and thrash for the magical fungi. lol
In the end, the dog got it, and looked quite funny for a while afterwards.

Don't you find it to be a bad reflection of your character for you to be so proud of your moments of violent rage?

Sure, the kid was annoying, and maybe deserved a small of amount of what he got. But it sounds like you went a bit overboard.

You mentioned performing a "fatality" on him. Why did you feel the need to "finish him"? You were

For a simple shot to the chest with a toy gun, although I bet it hurt like hell, your response was a bit extreme.

You mentioned that you were only like 10 years old. By performing a "fatality", you are demonstrating that violent video games are indeed capable of affecting the minds of the impressionable. Let's not add any fuel to videogame restricting legislation.

I do hope it was only a phase that you grew out of.

On the other hand, perhaps the actual event isn't reflected accurately in your post and you unintentionally made it seem more extreme than it actually was.

Either way, I doubt that kid'll be shooting you in the chest with toy guns anymore.

Once again, I state that we mustn't let this thread's focus slip from fighting into violence.

Well, it's not that i am proud of my moments of rage. Nowadays, it's quite difficult for me to get angry, but if i do, that's another story; i always get overboard then, unless i manage to maintain control. At least i'm older, either to cause more damage or not to do anything at all.

Actually, i know that it's a bad reflection for my character, which by the way is a dual character; a good & a bad part. I have few friends who know what i am & i'm used to not paying attention to what others think of me.

About the post, i wanted to depict the whole scene with some detail, so that's why it seems so extereme. The "fatality" is for luck of a better word, the last thing i did on him; doesn't have to do with videogame violence- i don't even like MK...I had my share of hits, but he wasn't that strong to hurt me, so it seems more like a one-part-fight.

Whenever someone's asking for it by pissing us off, it's not violence, it's not vigilantism & it's not thurst for blood, it's punishment for making us think less of ourselves; i hate that feeling. That way, if you know you can beat'em up, why not?
And since it's about fighting, how can there be no violence? We don't duel with leather gloves, bitchslapping each other, like in France 200 years ago, it's the fists that speak on those occasions..(a metal pole would be good too).

People can either get in your way for nothing or mind their own business. And it's not good to let others step on you.

    cloudy nailed it.

Though violence ain't often the best answer at times you do get people who'll only see things differently if you nail them. As for the aggression, he was telling how he was like as a kid, and aren't many kids like that?

It isn't just videogames, everything influences kids' behaviour, TV, the 'cool' people around them, stories they hear/read basically everything they observe. It isn't all off them, but it's a lot. I certainly remember fights over not getting what I want, it's a part of growing up, you have to make the mistakes to be a better person.

Yes this club is about fighting, and the great fights we've seen, but violence is certainly apart of it. Without it, there'd be no club.

I got a question for everyone, why do you fight?

Is there a reason or a certain cause you fight for, or is it something else?
Do you fight just to be in a fight or does something or someone just draw you in unexpectedly?
Do you fight because you have to or because you want to?
Is there a reason you fight the way you do or is it natural?

I have my reasons, but what are yours?

Oh yea, I forgot to ask. Have you all been to New Grounds before?

I fight to protect others and myself. I fight to make an improvement or ten in the world. And I fight whenever there's a good brawl cause that was how I was raised. Loving a good brawl. And if I'm strapped for cash, I'll fight for money too. Within reason of course. If it conflicts with what I see as being right, then no dice.

There are plenty reasons for me to fight, although i don't find myself in a brawl often.

There are times when i'm so pissed that i sort of want to fight just to relax later on, i walk in the street hoping that someone will do something against me, giving me the right to beat him up, aka craving for a fight.

There are times when i'm drawn into a fight that i cannot avoid because those willing to fight me just don't listen & don't want to solve things out peacefully.

I fight to protect myself & those that mean something to me. I can't let myself be taken advantage of, so i fight my way out of hard situations. And when my family, my friends & some other "important" for me people are having a rough time, i'll do anything i can to tomake that go away. This sometimes includes my having to kick some ass or even have mine kicked too. If a friend of mine is being bullied or cornered, what will i do? I can't just move aside (unless he asks me to)- i'll have to step in even if that means that we'll both eat dust. It's the thing when "you gotta do what you gotta do".

At times, people are making fun of me & making me look stupid in front of my mates & even make me doubt about myself ( great mistake ). Well, that's a mistake not to be forgiven & is paid up front with good old wooping, without me caring if they're right or wrong. I just hate the feeling i get at that time & the thought lingering in my head : "Just how stupid am i? Useless or what?".
    I hate that.

About why i am fighting the way i am. Well, when i'm at the point where there's no other thing but punching someone, i don't really think that i should go all out ot just scare them. I'm not easy to decide "we're fighting now", i control myself, but when they manage to make me lose control, then i'm not to blame. I don't really think of anything at that point, angry as i am, i just hit & hit until my fists bleed & my head hurts. It's a feature resebling a beast or something, call it the beast inside me- once out someone WILL get hurt. That's only natural, no reason, just the call of nature.

Note that as i said, that's quite rare.

And the video is awesome...even better from the one with Ryu & Scorpion. Nice!!!

I fight because I'm sick of this world. Sick of the terrible things tainting the innocent. Sick of watching others stand by and do nothing. Sick of seeing one person after another get hurt or killed.

I fight to protect. To try to do something, anything that could change horrible outcomes for the better.

I guess I have a strong sense of justice. It’s something that I always had, something calling me to do something.

I used this post on the Tavern before, but it best describes what I'm sick of.

Some of the stuff I see, I wish I could stop.
It sort of eats at my soul just thinking about it.

Last Christmas, I was out shopping with my dad in a large department store, when about 5 shelves away, I see a little girl screaming while being pushed in a cart. She was crying and calling for her mother. I rushed over to see what was going on, but by the time I got there, the man with the little girl were out the back door, and into a car and out of the parking lot.

There was nothing I could do, I sort of die a little on the inside just thinking about it. No other witnesses or anybody paying attention, they just ignored it, as if nothing happened.

I got there too late to save her. I...I began to hurt inside... It’s an aching pain, like if my entire being is dieing little by little…

There's a statistic where I live, It says that there is one little girl is kidnapped every 3 hours. That’s 8 too many in one day.

I want to fight to prevent things like that. To try to change the world, even if it's just a little bit, it's something that could affect others for the better.

The fallen ones keep coming; dragging others into the same sea of despair they fell into and chose never to leave.

I try to change the world slowly so everyone can keep up, but most choose not to listen.

I know Celtic, about time I join this club right? Hopefully I'm in if that's okay with you. I'm a boxer and I wouldn't mind telling you guys that the things that happen and a few fights that I've gotten into the past.

Rasler does have a point though. Violence isn't the best answer. As a boxer, I'm supposed to fight in the right so that's that, but outside of that, if someone's gonna start stuff or hit me first, then it's going down. I don't play that stuff with people basically. Other then that, I don't look for fights....

Of course you're in Diddy, I'll add you as soon as the first page loads again.

VIolence can be wrong, but these were stories from childhood. You know how that goes right? As for vigilantism. If you can justify it to yourself, it can go here.

Good to have a boxer here.

I got a good story from summer camp when I was younger.

For summer camp, we had to build catapults for a water balloon competition at the end. It was the medieval theme so we had several different people in costumes and such.

For my troop, we built a trebuchet, sort of like a catapult, except it uses gravity to fling objects further. They were used in "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" movie to throw the giant boulders and rocks at each other. When they let go, they let go in a big way.

We had around 300 to 350 lbs on the weighted side so we could get more distance. I was safety captain to make sure no one got a limb chucked 100 meters. I was screaming at the younger scouts and pushing at them with my halberd to keep then back, safe and sound.

We won the competition for accuracy and were given 10-15 water balloons to launch for fun.

We set one up an was about to pull the pin to fire it, when one of the camp staff members decides to run up and steal the balloon out of the trebuchet. We had to immediately lock it down and secure it so it wouldn't have ripped his arm off.

The prick puts his had right in the sling and gets the balloon out of it when I spot him. I threw my halberd down, ran up, and tackled him to the ground. He tried to get back up, but I latch hold of his arm and threw him down as the arm came up, narrowly missing him. He dropped the water balloon and ran away realizing the dangers of our machine.

If it did catch him when he was pulling out the balloon, it would have dislocated and tore his arm right off his body.

I guess this can count as a fight that saved the other guys life.

It's been some time since i posted anything in the club, so here goes.

First of all, i'd like to welcome Diddy in the Guild, we could always use a boxer & since it's him, it's even better. Welcome man!!!

Other than that, i have this story that happened today, after voting, when we were leaving from the Old College where the elections were taking place.

It was around 15:00 pm & it was scorching hot. Basically, it's the start of the really hot Athen's season, which is unbearable. We were walking in front of the National Library & he stopped to buy a drink. Then a drug addict started approaching the people waiting at the bus station, asking for money to buy cigarettes, booze, or probably drugs.

People weren't giving him anything & he started getting annoying. My pal had just recieved some change from the guy in charge of the stand & he crawled behind him, grabbed him from the shoulder & asked for some money. We told him to stand aside for we could leave. (i also used my famous evil glare /scares the sheeet out of most people ).

When we were leaving, he started swearing : Frack your God, Fook your Christ, blasphemy gallore. We turn back & my mate starts swearing as well, even though he's not the fighting type or anything close to that.

The drugger started threatening him & was about to jump on him. Then.....i step in. "If you wanna mess with him, you gotta get past me first". & the fight begins.

He was a big guy, but i'm more muscular, besides, with all that dose he had taken, fighting wasn't that easy, neither was walking or looking at one place at a time. But my pal wouldn't fight, so someone had to.

He started throwing some punches in the air, all missing & i take a step back & kick his knee in the blink of an eye, making him fall to the ground. Then, he started looking for something in his pocket; i dunno what, but probably a knife . Fearing that, i punch him in the face with all my strength. He was unable to find not just the knife, but not even his nose after that blast...so he tried to stand on his feet; not gonna happen. Another kick, right leg, in the chest this time, making him lose consciousness.

Then, people all around us started clapping hands & telling us we did the right thing, as if needed. I don't know if it was the right thing, but no one stood up to defend us or even him & i hated that. The place is full of crooks & cowards.

I only wanted it to be more of a challenge without dirty tricks & a longer fight. But i swore that from now on, if another guy dares talk to us like that, i'm kicking their sorry asses no matter what.

Hey, Adult Swim has a new Game on their site.

    "Bible Fight"

The game is just how it sounds (not the Family Guy version though).

I think it's within the realm of "Kill yourself in 5 min."

It's morally incorrect and disturbing all at the same time, but funny if you keep an open mind.

It's the type of game for those who can wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, and then laugh historically at themselves.

If you can't, don't visit the site.

I can because my outside has a good sense of humor, but I haven't tried it yet. I only have seen a commercial of it.

You fight as a person from the Bible and fight other characters, Mortal Combat Style. There's Jesus, Mary, Moses, and several others. You can call on plagues of frogs, swing crosses, and other Biblical objects at each other.

    Absolutely not for children!

I'm not posting the link, because, I'll probably get in trouble. So look for it yourselves.

Nice links and it's quite interesting to read peoples reasons for fighting.

Looks like the club's finally starting to come alive. And I hope we get a few new members soon. I think another thing I'm interested in is your preferred choice of weaponry to get the job done. Whether it be a sport or for your acts of vigilantism if that applies to you.

My favourites are my baseball bats WHAM! a stainless steel bat, splinters, my old wooden bat, my baur Crossfire hockey stick "ol' trusty" and my leather fingerless gloves concealing a few plain circular rings.

I only use bladed weapons if I feel the need. I prefer not to. Knockout's are better for my mental health than to slit someone up I believe.

Why Wouldn't the club stay alive??? LOL!!! It's doing Ok i think. Not too much chit chat about random stuff or spammy posts. That's good.

About my preferred choice of weaponry, well, as you can tell by my gifts, i Love swords. The thing is that in a streetfight, tou can't just take out yer sword & slash them frackers to pieces...You just can't. ( dammit ! )

I like big swords, the bigger the better, but since using one isn't an option, i'd like to use a baseball bat like you. I like steel bats, but i think that wooden ones are more trustworthy. Maybe i'm wrong. I also like those long poles, iron or wooden that you can easily find in the street. You can hit from a distance & hit hard too. If you take into account that most thugs & drugaddicts cannot fight with weapons, it's an easy thing to do.

Once, an old friend of mine picked a fight with some gypsy kids ( i hate them )
in Sparta. It was 5 against 1, but he found a metal wire laying somewhere on the ground & using it like a whip, he kicked their asses into the future....A whip would be good in a situation like that one.

Furthermore, when playing dirty, those ironfists or rings or whatever they are called that fit on the fists around the fingers are extremelly effective. A single punch packs a wallop, can break a tooth or two. Other than that, reinforced leather gloves are good for fighting, the fists don't hurt that much & they cause some serious damage.

Well if everyone's saying what weapon they prefer, I got a few.

I'm good with just my fists. I stopped baseball bats and other things by pushing them to the side or intercepting them while unarmed. I'm very quick to the draw, so to speak.

If I had a preferenced weapon I could go all out with, it would be a medium to long length sword, one that's adaptable to different styles. I can switch from different fighting styles on the fly; Rapier style, to Chinese Short Sword, to British Long Blade, to an Indian Scimitar style..., I'm good with a lot of unique styles.

I'm good with a spear/halbard, too. When I'm practicing, I use a weight on the spear head and swing it quicker then I usually would. It's harder but worth it in the end.

A sceith is a good weapon. Quick, and if someone gets too far, you can drag them back in.

Throwing knives are good for long range, but I'm more of a sniper/rifle shooter. I practice when ever I can.

If I'm going non-liethal, then a practice weapon or substitue, like a pole or stick that's available, will do. Most people run when they see how quickly I can get around their defences, and others that run don't, get their asses kicked.

Welcome to the Fighter's Guild Voxen16. Celtic's right, you don't want a warning so soon, actually, you don't want a warning at all. Anyways, you're new, so it's fine. No worries.

Sooooo, now that you're in the club, you should start off well eith a good fighting story, long or short, it doesn't matter. I think the rest of the gang is looking for it too.

About being lethal with weapons, gimme a Zangetsu & let the rampage begin!!! Other than that, breaking a bone is no big deal & non lethal too...

Thank you, about the fighting story.. do you mean the back ground of my fighting style? I'm a lancer, you know with a spear and sheild. Like a soldier, i fight in large ranged battles with realistic conflicts with others. I hope one day to become a dragoon, and i stand along side that ray of hope. Glad to be a member. (i think i got in a little trouble with ya cloudy, for tripleposting. Sorry about that, i didnt know what i was doing, but i fixed it now.) And whats with the lethal weopons and such?

Well, when it comes to fighting stories, we usually share our experiences in brawls & stuff. We explain the reasons we fight for, call it sporting activity, vigilantism or anything that's not pure bullying over the extremelly weak.

Read some of our older stories & you'll see.

About the weapons, we're currently discussing what our fav weapons in combat are. Since you're a lancer, you must really get along with spears.....that's awesome. And about me, lol, no trouble; i just though i should give you a friendly reminder.

I'm a practice fighter on the side. I do trainings and such when I have the time. I can do demonstrations at times, like a full sword dance, switching from different styles as I go. I spar with friends when I can with practice weapons, like wooden poles or metal bars. It's mostly just for fun though.

I generally have non-lethal weapons like a short, blunt pole, like a broom handle, close to where I work at, just in case.

I'm not like some people who keep real deadly weapons in their cars or on their persons and such. My friends dad use to keep a spiked head and chain flail in the trunk of his car,
BUT I'd say that's over kill.

Oh yea, something interesting I just remembered, back when I was in high school, about half the students carried some sort of weapon with them everyday. Not me of course; I use words or if all else fails, my fist to do the talking. That's probably why my arms and body are all scarred up.

Hey guys, lemme tell you what happened today...

I was at college. in class. Then my cell ringed & it was my pal Panagiotis asking me if i wanna go out for coffee with the rest of the crew. I had 6 hours, i did 3 & went. It was him, me & another pal, Koulis. We went to a square near Koulis' place. We sat in a "kagourocaffeteria", which is a rally point for all trendy boys & slutty girls.

We usually don't go to those places, but one of them insisted, so what the hell, we went.

There, sitting in the next table, there were some kagouria & some sluts. There was this tall guy we had seen in a party some months ago & among the rest, a dude with funny hair.

As usual, we started making fun of him without being loud. The thing is that we were sorta staring at his hair & he noticed, or someone from their table told him. Anyways, he came to our table & asked us what was going on, why we were looking at him all the time & shit like that.

Since my folks aren't into fighting, i told him that we always look at people that much, that nothing was going on & stuff...The tall guy came with him too, bodyguardishly-like. My pal Pete asked the tall guy if he was in that party we were invited as well, he said he was & like that things chilled quickly.

My other friend Koulis is also tall, much taller than me, but as i said, he doesn't fight. Well, we didin't do anything there.

But i made my mind. Whenever i see my friends again, i'll make them take an oath. That whenever someone approaches us like that, being a bully & all, we aren't holding back. I won't hold back probably, but man, i can't be outnumbered 1 to 5 or more. I'll need backup. So se will all swear that next time, it's fighting time. Imean, FIGHTING time. My friend Savvas will say that's bullshit, but, dammit, we're Spartans; we can't be like that.

I'm planning to go to that cafeteria again soone enough & stare at the dude again. If he does ask me again what the matter is, i'll tell him: "Hey, your hair is funny. Mine is funny too, but yours is ****ing hilarious...". Let the dogs out!!! *woof, woof, woof, WOOF*

I don't know what their reaction towards this will be, but as for me, i'lm solid in my opinion. So, i swear to you, My Guild bretheren, that i Will fight when this occasion rises. No holding back. I promise to you that i'll fight anyone who messes with me & come back here to talk about it. Otherwise, fellas like those will thing that we are chicken, which we aren't.

    heh heh

Well I certainly don't like needless fights, but hell, some people sure are annoying enough.

And it's good to hear your mates are behind you. I tend to be alone or only have a mate or two. As for being outnumbered, I'm sure you wouldn't need to worry. You know what they say cloudy, "Quality over quantity". And if he's a trendy boy as you say...

Well I'm sure you'd have no worries...

Personally, I hate being aggresive against people like that, they're all talk. But yeah, if they keep going on...

Fights around my end are sucking more and more. Just a few skirmishes which'll only get my clothes a little torn or something at most. Where did all the real fighter's go? Now it only seems to be tryhards and wannabe gangstas. *sigh*... I almost miss the good fights locally.

I don't like needless fights either, that's why i didn't say anything then & we didn't get kicked out of the place (it was rainig too..)

The thing is that they might have thought we are cowards & wanted to play "bully the bullies" to seem cool to the gals in their table. Well, if someone is to seem cool in front of the girls, that shouldn't be them. And as long as they manage to piss me off, the quantity doesn't really matter. I could easily KO them with a punch each. Maybe two, it depends on the arm, the angle, the air density & stuff.

I also think that kind is all talk, but here, many of them frookers have daggers on them & i only had my keys (with the long keychain on them- at least 1kg).

My friend now wants me to make him a wooden mace 'bout 35cm or so. I have figures the shape and the wood i'm gonna use to make it. One for me & one for him. Since they aren't that deadly, it's gonna be fine to fight with those. I'll post pictures for you to see them; i'll fix 'em good when i go back to Sparta where i have tools.

    You know what they say:

    No Retreat, No surrender,
    That Is Spartan Law

    Heh, Not bad Cloudy.

I got into an almost fight a few days ago.

I was leaving work with some others from the office, when some drunkard, no offense Celt, starts yammering on about something. We just ignored him until we got closer to the parkinglot.

All of a sudden, he starts chucking beer bottles at us. One hits someone's car, one hits the ground, and the other hits me in the face, and shatters on impact. I was all cut up and bleeding. But I gladly took the hit, to protect the others behind me.

Before he could chuck another one, 3 bouncers from a local bar come running around a corner and tackle him.

I'm fine now, but I think he really wanted a his ass kicked, and I'm glad someone gave it to him. The wounds are gonna scar, though.

    No offense taken Drake.

Booze can be really bad for some people...
If it affects them that way, it's irresponsible and wrong for them to drink it. As some say here "Everyone likes a happy drunk, none an angry drunk".

As for the scar, that brings up another question, what antiscarring products do you use? I'm down to just avocado oil at the moment, but I've tried a few commercial products, most with very little success.

I like to use an Antibacterial cream like Neosporin. It doesn't work on all of them, though. When I ripped off half the skin on my leg in a bike accident, it didn't really work. Maybe I should have went to the hospital on that one... lol

When I don't have any, I just let them go. So my hand, arms, and legs are all rough and stuff.

I think I'm going to try that product that is made by that Head-On company. It's suppose to work on old scars too.

I read somewhere, that, "Scars are like tattoos, except with better stories to tell."
