Then, if i may ask, what about those with telekinetic powers? That probably classified under the abilities of a Psychic, i should believe so...

Granted most are things more easily explained like those contortionists that can fit in small boxes and stuff, but yeah, thought that kind of thing an illusion until I actually saw it performed.
God, you're amazing, Gov. :D I "lmaoed"
But...in fairness to the topic at hand, I'd like to make one small point.
The biggest bites in the ass a scientist/explorer/intellectual/scholar can endure are usually the result of speaking out of ignorance rather than knowledge. Speaking of projected speculative reasoning, does anyone here have a degree in paranormal studies? Even if you DID, would that make you the one with the definitive answers?
My point is...so far, it doesn't matter if they are real or not. They've yet to impact our society if they do exist, and if they don't exist, then they never will. Proof is indefinite otherwise this thread would be dramatically different. Someday, perhaps, proof will be available. THEN and only then will a thread about them be appropriate to discuss in an Intellectual forum, imo.

The only psychics I believe in are the ones that can contact the people who are dead. I for one have seen one and I was pretty amazed. I didn't give her any details of what my great grandma used to do, what her favourite food was etc. She actually told me that she could see she was eating a salad sandwich which was her favourite meal.I was amazed.
As other people have bought up in the thread though I don't believe in the ones who can predict the future as we could die any day. They could tell me that I would become a shopkeeper or something and I could turn out as a company manager.
The mayans weren't psychic either so who says the world is going to end in 2012?
I'm going to have to say I share this ability with Fishie and Dan558, (sorry anyone else who said it, I got the the second page and lost interest in reading)
I have had a few experiences in which I have dreamed that something happen. Nothing big, but something like a conversation with a family member in the kitchen. Though with my incredibly bad memory I usually forget it, but when that time comes I know that I have been or seen or predicted this situation would happen. But I still believe that this is a common occurrence and that many people experience this phenomenon daily.
Though I do wish there was a way to channel this ability or psyche to predict things when it suits me, or have the ability to move objects using the power of my mind, or even manipulating time.
I would have to say that yes, I do believe in psychic ability, although I understand why some people do not. I believe that there are many real psychics out there, but due to the stereotype presented by all the impostors, they do not reveal themselves. I also believe that the majority of human existence possess some amount of psychic ability. Ever heard of deja vu? This is usually experienced after a subconcious "premonition" of the future, which usually happens while asleep. However, as you are asleep, you pass the premonition off as simply a dream, and when the event itself occurs, voila, deja vu.
However, if you have never actually experienced this, it is easy to see how you would be lead to believe that psychic ability does not exist. You can go see Madame Theresa in the gypsie district, but the truth is, she's probably a fake. Many people pretend to be psychic simply to earn money, as there are many who believe their power is real. I'm not saying that EVERY public psychic is a fake, but they're not all Phoebe Halliwell.
I think some mental capabilities are true but most are not I mean Telekinetic powers( the ability to move objects with the mind) is just silly but mind readers and their sort are entirely believable.
I not sure about psychics. I don't believe the future is writ in stone but sometimes there are certain things that I do believe in.
Like several times I've had dreams about places I've never seen or recognize and a few weeks to a month I'd recognize the place form my dreams. This happened when I moved from one state to three states further north.
I think there might be people who can maybe see hints of the future, but looking into the past and sensing what others had been through seems more likely, since the past can't be changed.
I believe psychics is a fact. Humans only use a small percentage of the brain and i have read that scientist may even believe that humans posses the ability to time travel they believe that the human brain may contain a small segment dedicated to time. I do believe in mediums and the like can use portions of the brain that ordinary people can't, portions of the brain that scientist still fully don't understand. They can tap into the brains resources. I mean we are an evolving race the possibilities are endless. Will there be a time in the future where we can all speak telepathically no one knows.
Okay, sorry bout that one post(i know what sarcasm is!)
Anyway, I still think psychic is fake because if it wasn't why didn't anyone predicted 911?
How come every time someone predicts the end of the world, it's dead wrong?
Why do psychics ask for your name?
