Other than that, Trap's been working hard on a new story RP for us, though we may be having it on a private forum. If you'd like to know more about that, please pm Trap.
Yeah, I just finished my application earlier today and edited my post to fill it in. Made it just in time. And no, that's not the last spot. Loco saved one for me, lol.
Yep, so there's still one more spot open. I also edited the so-called closing date. We're so close to 16 that I refuse to send seven people away. I suppose I COULD give a random person a bye round if there isn't a 16th within the next couple of days. It's better than waiting for months to fill a spot that may not be filled.
I have to agree with your assessment...I'm really excited by how many pople have joined and look forward to facing as many of them as my skills (and there own) will allow. Still, you'd think there would be at least one person who is an experienced battler that woulkd be interested in competition.
Eh well. Just have to wait and see.
Boo
Ooh...scary! XD
Long time no see :p So what have you two been up to?
School, Wrestling (Took 4th in the Region this past saturday, lost in Overtime), and missing y'all ;) I've had some technological issues, though am back, and revamping my rp character to boot.
Well its good to hear, none the less.
I'm busy with the Tournaments at the moment, though there in something of a lull. Anyone have any news?
I've got some news... I need a match >.<
I have good news...
Ghost Rider comes out today. :)
Other than that, been very cold so I might not even go. ; ; Oh well.
Oh yeah! Defiently have to check it out. It has two of my favorite marvel characters in it...Blackheart and Mephisto. Maybe not staple Ghost Rider villains, but defiently big players. I just hope they do them justice on the silver screen.
Unfortunatley I have to wait for Saturday to see it...meeting up with family and going to make it a sort of all day event. But oh well...probably be too crowded on opening day anyways.
and what kind of match would youl ike Godean? I'm a little busy, but i'm sure there's someone here that could keep you...entertained.
a little sparring one on one, hopefully to start at somepoint around tuesday
Im back once again im having a hard time ever getting online and when I do I only have time to get on my on forum and get off but im hoping now I well have more time. Seeing that I do not have a job any longer. Other then that what’s been going on.
what, is everyone too afraid to take the 666th post in this thread? :p
Anyone seen Slim around? I'd like to talk to him.
And sorry Godean, its Tuesday and still no ones stepped forward to spar with you. I'd have a go at you myself but our last battle ended rather abruptly and I'm involved with both of the tournaments. You might have to look outside of the club for this one.
Sub-note: Ghost Rider wasn't that bad, all and all. Beat the hell out of Hulk, Punisher, and the Fantastic Four movies...but then thats really not all that hard. I'd say its on about the same level as Blade. The first one, not the crappy sequals.
My only real problem with it is who they had playing Johnny Blaze and the fact that they replaced the ten foot tall rat tailed demon of pure darkness that is Blackheart with a weedy little shat in a trenchcoat. Got the voice dead to rights, but the look was just crap and the last battle was extremely anti-climactic.
Slim's last login was on the 13th, though his last post was long before that.
It worries me a bit, especially with the tournament and his unfortunate lack of posting. =/ I wonder what he's been up to these past couple of weeks...
Also, yes, Ghost Rider was a LOT better than I expected it to be. I had set such low expectations that I found myself actually enjoying it. It was definitely anti-climactic at the end, but it could have been SO MUCH WORSE. I was pleased.
Not a great movie, by any means, but good.
I'll be seeing GR later tonight (at the IMAX no less, buwahahaha), so it's good to hear that. But on the IMDB boards it is hell with kids running around. They're all like "CGI sucks!" or "Cage sucks!" and after they're through with that they finally just scream "This movie sucks!". You have no idea how annoying it is to see so many people bash something that's just a movie. On the bright side I've seen a lot of members give the movie two thumbs up for being a good popcorn flick. Definitely not oscar worthy, you wouldn't suspect that from a comic book. But something still enjoyable and entertaining. And to hear it's better than Blade (for which I liked) chances are I'll enjoy it as well.
:)
My only complaint about Gears of War's "extreme gore", is it splatters your screen and takes a while to fade... And that people blow up a bit predictably, time after time.
/sigh
I wasn't a huge Ghost Rider fan actually. I don't know, I mean I know it's bassed on a comic book, but it seemed too comic book like too me, not enough character development, fight scenes were too short. It was way to 2D for me. It wasn't bad, but I was kind of dissapointed.
Meh, maybe they'll make mroe of an effort on the second one. The second spider-man movie was better than the first after all and regarldess of the shambling plot or poorly developed characters, Ghost Riders been at least successful enough to warrent a second movie. Maybe they could base it around Vengeance.
Just saw Hannibal Rising, as my dad wanted to see it, and I thought it'd be nice to treat him to something.
Was enjoying the beginning/middle of it, then the end of it was a bit...distasteful. Towards the end, it seemed to me like he was more of a lucky thug, than a thought out, methodical killer.
Haven't seen it. I was dissapointed with how they chose to end Hannibal in the movies, so I've kind of decided I'll wait for the DVD release before seeing Hannibal Rising.
Meh...
Seems to be a bit of a lull in our activities. Trap and I are still working on her EPIC story RP...she's done a lot of really good work and I'm afraid I've not done much of anythign yet :p I was wanting to get some ideas from all of you, however, before I pushed on with my work any further.
So here's the deal...the RP is going to be High Fantasy, and while that does entail knights and mages and all that, I was wanting to see a few new and unique job classes for the puproses of the RP. I've got a couple in mind, but they're more race specific (as there will be multiple races). I was wondering if any of you might have some ideas or suggestions as to job classes you'd like to see.
Other than that, new info will come as it comes. We're not rushing this project as it needs to be solid from the word go.
Aside from all that, not much else going on.
Nice sig Behemoth. Makes me want to create a new sig and ava set.
I don't think any sequel or prequel can really touch the original Hannibal movie. And personally I don't think it really needed one. Red Dragon had it's moments as I was interested, but it didn't really go along with the original. It was more like an episode from Law and Order: Criminal Intent.
As for the Ghost Rider movie I saw at the IMAX, I've really already said what I liked and disliked about it, lol. Simply put though I gave it like a 6.7/10. A watchable fun movie, but had way too much holes and way too pitiful villains.
Anyway, when do you think that RP is gonna be up? I might be able to find some time to get into it.
P.S. - Yeah, this is my official ava and sig now. I'm done creating new sigs, lol. It's such a pain.
Did any of you saw Shelus on lately? He not appeared here for a guite long time and I start to worry about the guy.
I'd like to help with the new RP if Trap or you need the help.
Well, like Anomaly said, we need more ideas for unique races and/or classes, because I've only really come up with the basic kind of RP races and classes.
Oh, not for awhile yet, though I do hope to at least have all the basics ready and prepared within the next few months. Plot is mostly taken care of...its actual play dynamics, like job classes, race specifics, and weapons and abilities that need working out.Quote:

I created a new race two weeks ago you might like, lol. Want me to PM you the details?Quote:

Been in a fun depression spell, so perhaps giving my mind something to sit down and tinker with might help.
Looking more for job class suggestions, but I am curious. I remember the race you created that had ice in their veins...he was rather cool.Quote:

Really I think we should ask Trap if she wants anymore races...I think we already have seven or eight. I don't want to spend too much time on races and not enough time on developing the actual RP elements.
Eh? The Crysterian? Lol, yeah he was. But I made an even cooler race then that :). In fact I'm thinking of writing a book on it so I'm deciding on whether I'd use it for public use or not.
As for some classes, if you could PM me the ones you already have and some notes on what you're looking for I have no doubt I could create some for ya.
If you're interested in having more unique classes than the standard, let me know how many, and in what detail. Same for the weapons/abilities.
I'd be interested in seeing those races on the TM home site, if you'd not mind sharing.
Oh, and I had some spare time on my hands, and posted again(after how many months? x_x ) in our battle there, Ano.
Well I can post up the info that Trap last sent me on the offsite forum. you lot have access to that.
There's a lot of stuff to go through though, and most of the races are still a little sketchy. (looking at your basic elf, human, dwarf, troll, beastman set up right now)
But yeah, I'll post up what we have so far.
Well, well, well... I just wandered over these lands and couldn't just resist to barge in when I heard that you had a wee problem with something. Job classes, in particular. See, I have always liked the job system, and despite having a particular liking for the standard classes, I have tried my best to unify those concepts and toy with the names and characteristics.
While I do not belong to your faction, I humbly offer to give up a piece of advice or two about the matter. I'd await if your leader, Anomaly, accepts or declines that offer. As always, I await the answer in any of the threads.
Have a nice day (or night). I expect to be welcome here as always, despite our differences.
*shrug* It's not a problem.
While this is a Masters only project, I don't think My Lady Of Abominations intends to exclude outsiders from joining in once it's complete. Having said which, I don't know if Trap would welcome your advice or not.
Hmm...if you have any ideas you don't mind parting with, however, feel free to pm them to me or Trap Meridon. If she doesn't mind your help on the project, neither do I.
I don't know if I want alot of random, non-Masters people joining...if we are to include other people, then I want it to be very limited, mostly because the Twins portion of the History is a story I've worked really hard on and I still plan on using it and so I don't want people to steal my ideas. >.<
But I welcome advice on the job classes. I just don't want anything too far out there...
Well...I wasn't expecting to join any of your club activities, but since Anomaly often lends a hand with things in our club, so I decided that some advice would be a good way to "pay up" the favor.
I would like to know what kinds of job classes you had in mind. You can use the basic class concepts, and rename them: that's a good way to give some uniqueness to classes. Or, you can restrict classes, depending on what kind of emphasis you want to give to the story. A basic overview of what you have would be of very much use.
BoD is apparently useless for all their boasting. Yes, I'm disappointed by this turn of events.
I post a battle challenge, and get no takers. I was preferring to test it against against them, but I guess I shall ask here. Are there any who would care to test out the latest evolution to my original RPB guy?
Ano - This'll be a twist I doubt you'd have thought me to go to.
While the BoD love boasting and bragging a couple of them CAN back it up. Don't boast yourself when I'm sure you'll have gotten their attention now. Then again Raven I doubt would fight you again after the duel battle of me and him versus you and Shelus.
*shrug* Dunno what to tell you mage. I find it takes awhile to get anyone in any of the other RP clubs going in a battle. Why not try one of the Phoenix Knights? They're fairly elite and should give your new evolution a good test run.
As to the classes, Oskar, we're looking to keep it mostly old school, middle ages style of classes, but we'd like to expand from the basics. I've been considering something like a Black Smith class...basically a class that would be adept at making or repairing weapons, high strength, defense, and technique but low intellegence and resistance. but I've not even started work on this stuff as of yet.
Getting used to a new shift at work is no easy task.
Problem with the Phoenix Knights is that the club disappeared due to inactivity. Seriously. It's in the archives.
I'd be willing to play around, but I'm still not sure if my schedule will allow for it. My time is torn between work, the hospital, and what little social life I can salvage. I still stand by the idea that real life is more important than the internet. I could sacrifice a bit of MMORPG time for writing, I suppose.
Question is, am I still stuck in a writers' block?
Consider this a possibility of an acceptance; however, if someone else opts to write with you first, by all means, jump on the opportunity. I'll let you know in a couple days how things are looking and whether I'm available or not.
It's been a LONG time since I've done any serious writing aside from scripting my comic.
Re: Topic -- I'd also be willing to help out with the job class idea, but won't take any offense if you'd rather exclude me in order to keep things "within the family," so to speak.
Colt...don't worry...I asked and they allowed me. Working with two people wouldn't be a problem for them, wouldn't it?
Aaanyways...if you're keeping it Middle Ages, then surely there'll be knights and regular infantry, perhaps druids, clerics, and the usual peasant. Archers, and perhaps the archetype of the ranger are also in. Have you looked beyond the borders of Europe? A desert warrior wold be very unique, as the Arabs proved. Viking berzerkers, and Mongolian invaders are very good things to adapt, especially as enemies. Also, consider that maritime classes in the era are scarce (no pirates and corsairs), but you can allow the sailor to exist, unless the area has no borders. It all depends on the region where you want to keep it. Oh...I also forgot...alchemists were quite popular those days. They can practice true alchemy, but also adapt things of regular chemistry. Besides, they serve as excellent poisoners. And, if you want healing but not magical, consider apothecaries. And...I was thinking about a whip-wielding kind of executioner/torturer. Crimeflayer, perhaps?
Blacksmiths would be more the kind of guys who can use any weapon but favor their hammers the most. They are quite...how to say..."flexible" in combat, perhaps improvising horseshoes and hot ash as range weapons. And sledgehammers, too. For repairing and creating tools, you'd require a good system to determine their chance of success. Keep it so they can only repair at smithies, allowing only the most experimented to use such skills outside. Also, do you want a generic blacksmith, or a specialist kind? You can draw many classes from a generic base idea. Thus, you can get the weaponsmith, the armorer, the blacksmith (that deals with black iron and steel to create items), and the siege engineer. Think about the system of stats and format, and I can help ya a bit more.
The RP will take place over different continents so your ideas for classes "beyond the borders of Europe" is a great idea, especially since there is a desert area planned.
And I wouldn't exactly classify is as "Middle Ages" era. It's more or less a classic fantasy setting, much like Final Fantasy, but without all the industral type things popping up. No airships and such. ^^;
There is an ocean though so a sailor type class might be a good idea as well. Their weapon could be a harpoon or something. XD
I had also talked to someone about Bard and Dancer classes, but how do you think they would function in an text RP?
I like some of your ideas and will think some more about them.
Here's the list of my original classes just to give you an idea of what I've already come up with. I'm doing a secondary class type of thing in which each basic class can choose between two different higher classes that they can become later in the game.
Just keep in mind that I wrote alot of this myself so it might not be very good... ^^;
+Swordsman (Lvl 1) - A warrior skilled in the ways of the sword.
+Knight (Lvl 20) - An experienced swordsman deemed worthy of title.
+Paladin (Lvl 20) - A holy swordsman with the ability to use holy magic as well as proficiently fight.
+Cleric (Lvl 1) - They are the people of the church. Wise and kind, they always use their powers to help those in need. Not only do they heal, but they also have supportive powers which will protect those in need from harm altogether. Clerics pray to the goddess Celesta for power and guidance. Clerics can use a staff, which they use to channel their magic, or mace type weapons. Clerics also have some resistance to dark magic and minor status effects such as lesser poison.
+Priest (Lvl 20) - Priests are much more proficient in holy magic and can heal more serious wounds, cure status effects and illnesses. They have a higher resistance to dark magic and serious status effects such as stone.
+Exorcist (Lvl 20) - Exorcists are a form of Holy Warriors who are proficient in fighting creatures both of undead and darkness. They use spells which can destroy or bind the creatures of darkness as well as draw them out of people who have been possessed. Their main weapon is a blessed mace. They have the highest resistance to dark magic.
+Mage (White, Red, Purple, Blue) (Lvl 1) - These are people born with the gift of magic. The color of their robes determines what rank and level of magic they are able to use; white being a Novice and blue being an Adept. Mages use a staff which they use to channel their magic. Mages also have the ability to detect magic properties in items.
+Arch Mage (Silver, Gold, Black) (Lvl 20) - Arch Mage are much more powerful and have a higher understanding of all things magic.
+Elementalist (Lvl 20) - Elementalist have the ability to use powerful elemental magic as well as summon the elements themselves.
+Warlock (Lvl 1) - (May change to Dark Mage or something similar)
+Necromancer (Lvl 20) - Necromancers use dark magic and have the ability to raise the undead and command them to do their bidding. They can also summon demons or other creatures of the darkness.
+Death Knight (Lvl 20) -
+Thief (Lvl 1) - A class adept at using short blades to pierce the defense of their foes. They are common thieves and burglars and they make their money by robbing others. They constantly are looking for easy money, or hunting for treasure. They are excellent pick pockets and they can pick locks incredibly well.
+Rogue (Lvl 20) -
+Assassin (Lvl 20) -
+Archer (Lvl 1) - People skilled in the art of archery and hunting.
+Ranger (Lvl 20) - The master of the sword and the bow. They are an expert at tracking and are a friend to the forest.
+Beastmaster (Lvl 20) - A person with the ability to tame wild beasts.
Hmmm...interesting...but i assume i am unworthy of such a well organized group...correct me if i think wrongly...
Back from the Bahamas. Sadly, I'd have to label it a crappy trip. The resort was like going to Disneyland, everything was make perky and spiffy just for your visit. Leave the resort, and find out how unpleasant the place is.
Was listening to the radio... the prime minister was flat out, publicly, threatening a newspaper editor, for if he printed any more anti-gov't articles, then they're release incriminating/revealing photos of him.
Eesh.
;_; I really don't care who, I just wanted to test out my new toy.
That all depends on your skills. Read the first post in the thread...if you're interested in applying, all the information you need is there.Quote:

So lets have a topic. Grindhouse. Excellent double feature film that brings back a classic style or waste of money and blatter control? I rather enjoyed it, even if Werewolf Women of the SS sounded more interesting to me than Deathproof.
Also, Masters sponsored Tournament for all challengers...an idea Prodigal sent my way. It could be interesting...what do you lot think?
I full heartedly support it! :O
Also, to Shane, Godean, or Makoto - I pray I didn't inadvertently botch any names - I challenge, one, or two, of you to a rank battle! D:<
I'd prefer Makoto... But alas, with the ruling as it is, I cannot force any of you into battle. I shall be using the latest form of my oooold character. For those of you that know me/him, it'll be a shocker.
;_; I botched name. Bad me.
