Hello. Welcome to the forum. ...Nice little RP post you have there.
If DH was still on AIM, I'd let her know about you seeking her out, but she'll see it eventually. I hope you stick around.
Appearing in nothing but a shadowed shroud, she stands before them all, unnamed and unknown. Foreign is this woman, for it was all too easy to note the figure was indeed female, yet perhaps it was the way that she held herself that exuded a sense of familiarity with this world, though, that of writing and the love for that writing and not -this- particular vent of passion.
Upon a small pedestal she would stand and then her voice, wanting of attention though not demanding in the least, the tone more out of curiosity and inquisition rather than command and arrogance.
"I came to speak to someone here... And that someone would be a writer of something I appreciate greatly and would ask permission to share this knowledge and insight with the rest of the world. I am she, that seeks the one known as DragonHeart."
Words would die there, and the secretive Symphony would await to see who would respond to her statement.

Thank you greatly, Mistress Sheena. As for sticking around... I'd have to pry into the site a little more to see if this would be a befitting home for myself.
I'm curious. How'd you come to know DragonHeart and where did you come from originally (I mean internet wise, not Texas. =P)?

Hello Symphony. I cannot say I recognize your name nor writing, but welcome nonetheless. I am glad to have authored something you appreciate, though I can't say I can think of what particular bit of writing it could be. Your ambiguity has me curious, I admit.

@Mistress Sheena. I ended up finding DragonHeart through a search coincidentally. It was like finding a diamond amoung coal. As for where I come from, that would be Roleplaygateway. I am known as Sko/Symphony, a mentor of that very site.
@DragonHeart. I ask that you allow me, with respects to you of course, or for you to post yourself, at Roleplaygateway, your guide to Roleplaying that I had come across. I fear for the quality or roleplaying there and it terrifies me to think that this art several of us call a passion and for some even life, is dying slowly... I feel with each passing year, the great ones are disappearing and the youngers press on without the mentoring and teaching of those who came before. This leaves our love for writing in jeopardy, and for that very love to be passed on. Another thing that I have also seen is that... well... the young age does not even care about the emotions that go into roleplaying/writing, and choose not to step up to challenge themselves. I ask for your help with those that would want to learn to better their writing and come to an easier understanding of how to roleplay properly.

I like this. It's playing out like the issuing of a challenge to a young warrior. Will DH take up the sword, or is she comfortable in the world of her creation? Only time will tell.
I feel like I'm in a crossing of worlds right now. I'm not sure if I should be scared or in awe, but either way, I'm grabbing some popcorn, brb.

Awww. That was nice of you to ask to use DragonHeart's guide instead of just taking it. I bet a lot of other people would have done a copy/paste type thing and claimed it to be thier own.
I read her guide to good roleplaying a while back, and it was definately informative and a good read as well. I'm not really a roleplayer myself, but it would be useful for those who want to brush up on thier skills, or who are learning the basics.
Well, I suppose I should say welcome to TFF, even though I'm not sure if you're going to stick around or not. It was definately an interesting intro post though.

You may be seeing me more than what I first gathered. This warrior may be searching for a new home.
Well the doors to TFF are always open for new members. If you decide to stay then; welcome to TFF.
I do like your writing style and the OP was a plesent read. Just from what I have seen here I say your writing ability fits your username very well.
So once again, welcome to TFF. I truely hope you decide to stay and I hope to see you around the forum.
Happy posting (hopefully?)

I don't normally post around here, but the thread caught my attention. It's warming to see one of our RPers being recognized from the outside. If you do choose to spend some time around here our RP Forums are open to everyone. They are in need of skilled members, for you are correct that the old guard (as it were) has disappeared leaving a significant gap. We still have plenty of talent, just not nearly as many members as we used to.
Welcome!

Out of all the things I've written and posted over the years, the guide is both the piece of writing I get the most comments on and the one I always seem to neglect. Thank you very much for going to the trouble of coming here to ask instead of simply copying it. So many people don't understand that just because something is posted on the internet doesn't mean it's free for anyone to use.
As long as you attribute the guide to me with a link back to here, you may use it at your site. Although it's been a long time since I posted the notice, I am actually working on a revised, updated version of the guide. If you would like to use the current version (just a side note, I haven't checked to make sure all the links I used still work) that is fine, just thought you might want to know that I will be updating it in the near future. I'll probably start working on it next month, after I finish my current novel. The updated guide will be a bit more universal and friendlier in tone, looking back on it now I can see how some parts may come across as elitist and I plan on changing that.
That said, I do hope you consider sticking around for awhile. TFF's main focus is on gaming but we have a number of dedicated role players and of course, many other areas of discussion. And as you've no doubt noticed, a friendly, if somewhat nosy community.

Yes, I agree with Andromeda. Most of the good members who loved to Roleplay are gone and we people who understand and respect it. I welcome you if you decide to stay!
Thank you all for the warm and open greeting. It's not often you find such hospitality on forums, and I greatly appreciate it with all my heart.
DragonHeart, I thank you the most for helping with this most dire situation. Change only happens if a catalyst is born, and I for one... will not sit by and watch roleplaying or writing in general degrade into something... well distasteful and not passionate.
And yes, I don't like to go around claiming something as my own even if it is 'just the interenet'. DragonHeart put a lot of effort into her guide and I can clearly see that. She deserves to get the respect for her thoughts.
I'd like to welcome you also, with the hopes you decide to stick around. It's rare someone like you comes along.
Your posts to me seem shrouded in mystery, and I find it slightly enticing. In the most non-sexual way, of course. That would be weird. But they've drawn me in, I must say.
Well, happy posting! If you decide to stick around, I'm sure you'll fit in. =]
Well perhaps if a few of you fellow roleplayers pass me a few links, I will take a look to see if I can add a new character. I can do any genre, and play just about any role. I've played them all, yet I still can't get my drows right. Ha.
And maybe in time, I shall add the roleplays that I have submitted myself here. They usually run about 30 players, but I can easily scale down the role options to include a smaller player base.
We tend RP with a smaller base. When the number passed like ten in one group we've felt it gets a little crowded. These days its more a factor fewer numbers, but the size usually sits around 4-6.
It might just be easier to view the forum. There aren't currently many RPs running. So it would not take much time to flip through them. We do have an extensive archive though.
Role-Playing - The Final Fantasy Forums
If you want a simple list of all the RPs have still available for viewing this it is. Anything pre-2003 is lost to due an unfortunate pruning. But its pretty comprehensive. Speaking of which I need to update it again, its been nearly a year.

We have one group of RPers, though nearly all of the members are inactive at this point. So the club is struggling to stay alive. It's sort of like a stubborn hero that's body covered in dozens of arrows, but through sheer stubborn will on its feet still. Yeah, that would be me.
