    Lucky.

Thats the problem with Orlando. Even though it is a big city, it isn't planned out like most of them, so you still have to drive to get anywhere decent. That actually seems to be the trend in big Florida cities. I have been to Savannah, New York City, and Chicago, and those are all designed for walking folk.

    I paid 3.31 today. I died a little inside.

Haha, I love how you guys complain about filling up your cars. I have a Mustang, which is a V8 and maybe gets 20 mpg on a good day. While I do have to commute to school and work, I walk to the mall, grocery store or whatever as much as I can. My apartment is very close to gas stations, stores, the mall, and several restaurants so its that not bad, especially since it's starting to get warmer outside.

We've got a new record for the city here -- $3.28 for Reg.Unleaded at the cheapest station in town.. $3.39 for the same at the most expensive. This is the highest it's ever been in Arlington and I can only see it going up. Around here, we're usually a bit ahead of the curve with prices, though. We'll go up before everyone else does and we'll go down before everyone else does, since we provide ourselves with most of our own gasoline, rather than relying on imported oil.

It's up to $3.39 for Reg and $3.69 or higher for High Test. Kero reached $3.99 and that's not as used as gasoline. A record high for us as well.
What's the excuse for making it go up this time?

Electric is going up too, around where I live. +120% over 3 years is what I'm told by a friend who's a manager at the Electric company.

Did anyone else watch the debate last night? It was painful to watch. The first half of the debate was all politics - who said what, who did this. They barely talked about issues. I know the two are very close in issues, but there are differences in their approach to health care, Social Security, Iraq, etc. I hate American politics sometimes.

no i didnt but heck i am in the corner on all of the canidates anyways i wish we could just wipe the slate clean and actually get some good honest canidates in the running, its turned more into a popularity contest (IMO) not a whose right for the job kind of thing. i think that mud slinging should be banned and anyone caught doing it should be droped from the canidacy... to much back stabbing in our unified government.

sorry i am in a bad mood, any which way it goes i will still support the president no matter who it ends up being....

A redhead with a Mustang. Will you marry me?

As for the debates, I didn't watch them. There is no point in me watching them as I'm a Republican. Sorry if that offends any of you. Well, that's not even the case. Technically, I'm a "Conservative Democrat" but no matter what, I'm voting for McCain in this election.

Besides, there was Brewers Game/Scrubs/Fight Club on DVD to be watched.

Not offensive at all. I am a ultra-liberal, but McCain was my favorite Republican. In fact, if Hillary wins it, he gets my vote.

As long as you vote for him and not the party. I asked a girl (Amber) why she voted for a Republican senator candidate and she said "Because I'm a Republican".

My Civic may not be as sexy as a mustang, but it gets over 30 mpg and THAT turns me on. Sucks about the 20 mpg, Danica. I wonder... if they make mustangs that run on water or veggies... will they sound as cool?

I unfortunately missed the debate and I haven't been incredibly excited about catching them for the very reasons you didn't enjoy said debate. Haha I'm kind of pissed. When the race started I was all excited and hopeful and I'm back to being pessimistic. What the hell?!

Are you a Republican because of... or are you a Republican in the sense of... Basically, I'm asking you... are you a Bush Republican or are you just a Republican? It seems like there's a difference.

...****, it's Thursday? Goddamnit I missed Scrubs AGAIN.

I didn't like the new Scrubs episode, but I thought the Office was funny for the first time in a long time. It had classic rude Michael Scott and a VERY good Jim-Pam story. I don't want to give anything away.

I'm a Republican as of this election because of my stances on the war, homeland security, all that good stuff. I say "this election" becuause I always see myself riding the fence between Liberal and Republican. I have a lot of Liberal beliefs, and a lot of Conservative beliefs. This election, I look at myself to be in McCain's corner because I agree with a lot of the things he believes in (I could talk about my beliefs here, but I tend to get chastised for what I believe in, as my family, and a good amount of my friends are EXTREMELY liberal. I've learned to avoid a lot of political debates, as I get attacked personally for what I believe in.) Depending on who runs next election, hell, I can easily vote Democrat. I almost voted for Obama in the primaries, but that issue of his lack of experience popped into my mind, and my marker moved away from his name. So, no, I'm not voting for McCain just because "I'm a Republican".

I made a mistake in simply saying that "I'm a Republican". What I should have said was that this election, because of who I'm voting for, I'm a Temporary Republican. I hope that makes sense, and I'm not just writing a bunch of bullshit.

Actually, I know a couple of people who are voting for Obama because of that song that some lame musicians wrote about him. This.

I'm not sure what you mean by a Bush Republican. No, I don't agree with a lot of shit he did, but I support him, as he is the President. I don't know. The way I see things (as a history student) is that we have to understand both sides of the issue. For example, we all know slavery is bad. But as a historian, I have to understand why slavery was important to those who utilized it. Some people only see the world as "He did <insert action here> because of <insert reason here>," based on what they see and hear from the media. But as historians, we have to look at the world from all angles.

What I'm trying to say is, I support Bush, but don't always agree with him.

On a lighter note, I thought Scrubs was great. The Office, not so much.

I don't see the greater purpose in aligning myself with any particular party. I vote depending on circumstance and guided by careful consideration of political stances and platforms. Many times I will vote for a candidate who does not share my personal stance, merely because the current geo-political situation calls for their stance.

McCain may do well in this position. I'd personally prefer a candidate boasting a Monroe-doctrine, but unfortunately Ron Paul was run out on the rail. As for Hillary, I really am not a fan. I understand a candidate's desperate need for the ability to lie blatantly to the public, I'm simply a little too suspicious of Clinton. The lie about her landing, was egregious and without purpose. Someone who doesn't know when to expend a lie does NOT need to be in a major political office, and everything they've said becomes suspect.

I like Obama. Not because I believe him, not because I believe his promises. But I have the strongest feeling that he will NOT attempt to use Reganomics as Bush has and even McCain promised to. After a major military campaign, we do not need tax breaks for major companies. It's time for the pendulum to swing back, now.

As for the final word...well...we'll see.

That's a tough issue. My parents are very conservative Republicans, and they're huge on politics. I was raised Republican, and in recent years I've taken an active part in politics. I've helped students run for office at college and I've helped my mom with voting for elections. While I do support Obama in the race, I'm not really a Democrat by any means. I hate the Clintons and I wish Hilary would just get out of the race. I'm very liberal in some views and very conservative in others.

I couldn't watch the debate, so I have no idea what went on. I really should just look for information on the internet, but I seem to get distracted...

I can't vote anyway, so I don't matter. I took another test once and it said I was a moderate liberal. Whee for me? I've got no idea what these groups are, but base on the names, I think liberals are people who want change in the government and conservatives no? Maybe?

    So I'm feeling kind of left out. ;_;

Hello, being an American, I would like to join this club. I am from Birmingham, Alabama, and we don't hose people, and we aren't married to our cousins, so enough about all those stupid thoughts. I don't like the South too much, but it won't matter soon, because I'm going up north for college.

I know what you mean, I can never remember the time it comes on, despite being a devoted fan, and as a result have missed most of the season. Plus my new job interferes with watching it.

As for the election, I think it is a pretty hard choice. Clinton is out of the picture for me, and Obama is a great speaker, a new fresh face, full of promise, so I like him. The problem is that he has a lot of skeletons in his closet. McCain might have a heart attack in office because he's so old. A lot of experience, and not too many mistakes, as well as leadership capabilities and the ability to NEGOTIATE. If people can't do that than nothing will be done, congress is on one wing, the president on the next, come on people work something out. Either way, it is a hard decision, I will continue to keep up on the debates and news, so I can decide who will be my candidate.

    Welcome Final Fantasy Fan Cid!

If you are looking for someone to work with Congress, Obama is probably the best choice. McCain will only win if he gets the support of more moderate Democrats, but those Democrats are going to still vote for Democratic congressional candidates. It is likely the Democrats will increase their control of both Houses of Congress. Obama's ability to bring in new people who will likely vote all Democrat helps this.

Question: How can you land locked people tolerate it? I go to the beach about five times a week. I couldn't live without it.

I live half a mile from the water and I haven't gone to swim at a beach in years. I enjoy going in once in a great while but never have gotten the idea as to why everyone loves it so much. I love pools...but beaches are hit or miss. Either it's massively clustered or cold or not a nice day. Someday maybe I'll get it.

When I drive car, you get ring.

But the beach for me is only like a 30 minute drive away. Keep in mind this is Wisconsin, so only about 4 months of the year are good beach weather (May if you're lucky to September). The lake generally smells really bad, especially if you go down near the more industrial part of town, where all the fishies go to fishie heaven. LOT of dead fish. Gross. The nicest strip is of course is right by UWM, where all the rich people live on Lake Drive. Great for taking walks or jogs.

yeah it does suck being land locked, but luckly enough i live in a state with a high land to lake ratio so water is only 30-45 minutes from where i live, down side is that most of the lakes look like muddy water and are highly unkept up with. and its nothing like the oceans. i must admit i miss them....

I hate that, but I am usually too busy to worry about it, so oh well with that. I am just leery of Obama's skeletons, I don't know though, tough, but lately I have been leaning towards Obama.

Beaches!!! I live in California, and only a couple hours away from the beach, but I still never go. Beaches here now are kind of disgustingly polluted. I go into the water up to my waist and I can see bags, wrappers, and all sorts of crap floating around. The sand is nice though.

Even when it's crowded though, you don't need much space. Just enough to dig a huge hole or to build a nice castle. Beaches are kind of pointless places, but it should be kind of relaxing. Oh well. The main attraction of beaches are the sun, the water, and the sand, so if you've got the water and sun at a pool, you just need some dirt. ^^

you shouldnt feel to bad about that, atleast you can see what your swimming around, heck at most of the lakes around here you cant even see the bottom of the edge of the shore line hahaha

You may or may not imagine that a beach is not a big item on a Goth's itinerary. However, it is true. Though I have gone just this last year. Went to a Florida beach and suffered painful, no doubt cancer-causing, burns.

I regretted it. So I'm not a big beach frequenter. But I do love the Ocean. I even got to see a Great Barracuda only ten feet away from me in open water. And my mum got stung by a Bluebottle(not an actual jellyfish).

    Oh, also... Miami sucks ass.

Thank you.(If you live in Miami, please do not resort to litigation.)

It sucks being landlocked, but not as much as you'd think. We have a few rivers and lakes in Arkansas to swim around in, but it's true, there's nothing like the ocean. If I don't go at least once a year, it's a little depressing. Part of the attraction of Savannah was its proximity to the beach. I don't always have time to go, but every now and then I head out. And I usually take one or two Florida vacations in the summer.

If you're used to not having something, it's not as unbearable to live without it as it would be to someone who's used to having it all the time.

Like me having to live without good food. Ugh, one more quarter of this cafeteria shit. Haha this lady gave me the wrong thing and when she handed it to me, I asked for the thing I ordered (very nicely! I didn't even mention that she hadn't given me what I asked for) and she said, "You better watch your step." I was shocked. "Me?!" She didn't say anything and gave me my food. Whyyyyyy would you threaten me just because I wanted baked ziti instead of your seafood alfredo? Christ.
    Curious?

The first rule of Florida beaches: Go after 4 p.m. or so. It gives you three hours of sunlight without the sunburn. Seriously, I spent four hours at the beach this afternoon and didn't burn, and I am a redhead who rivals Casper in paleness.

I have actually been to the beach four days straight now, and I am starting to tan a bit. My face is uneven, but my back and my chest are becoming brown. It takes away from the nastiness of the freckles.

Sunburn...this is why I am constantly applying sunblock. Seriously, I'm known as the "Sunblock Queen" because of this habit. If you want to go to the beach, you must re-apply your sunblock (with UVA and UVB protection) every two to three hours. I did that when I went, but somehow still got a nasty burn on my shoulders and back when I went during the summer. Made me strangely brown.

I do hope you apply your sunblock. >.> I didn't know you had freckles either.

Remember, if you live anywhere in the sun, you must apply your sunblock! Come on Americans, protect yourselves from the sun. It's evil. ><

I just looked at the grand total of pictures I have put up here (one), and it does look freckless. I assure you, that is not the case. I am extremely freckled. I blame a combination of my Irish heritage and living in Florida.

What? No one from the Northeast? I'm surprised.

Well, I'm a New Yorker, been here all my life (except for vacations, y'know, the thing where you go to see other places). More specifically I am from Alden, New York which is like 30 minutes east of Buffalo. Our town is known for... um... wow... is our town even known for anything? Hmph. I guess our town is known for stupid teenagers and a guy who drives his tractor lawnmower all over becasue his license has been suspended.

Anyway, I support Obama 100% and if I could vote, I would've voted for him.

Indeed it does look freckless. I think I only saw the top of your head and noticed that it was blazing red. But if you say you've got freckles, I'll trust you. (Aww, aren't you glad you've got so much trust? )

Ooooh! Tractor man? That sounds fun. It must be worse for whoever gets run over by him though...
