I haven't been watching any TV as of late either, but I DO know that Hillary is pretty much done for. I pretty much suspected that happening anyway. I couldn't see Hillary beating someone like Obama, imo. The majority of people find her really annoying and scary anyway. I'm not saying I'm completley trusting of Obama, though. I just might end up voting for McCaine, but we'll see.

I forgot to post where I'm from, but most of you already know.

My hometown is Slaughters, Kentucky in Hopkins County.(I currently have a house in Louisville and live in a dorm in Lexington)

There's plenty that's wrong with Kentucky. It's boring. It's poor. It's peppered with uneducated people(not to sound arrogant, you may include me if you wish). However, there is EXCELLENT fishing and camping opportunities here. The property market is amazingly low. The scenery is rare, unpopulated and beautiful. And we now have the worst Governor in a long line of bad Governors.

There... I hope I've convinced you all to move here

Well I'd like to join if I could. My names Josh, and I've lived in America my whole life. I was born in Woonsocket RI, and moved to Harwich MA when I was 8. Harwich is pretty small. It's on Cape Cod which is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the north east and people love to go to the beaches and see the little ma and pa places. It's dead most of the year, but in summer months is impossible to not see someone when going out. It's popular and only getting bigger.

There's nothing really that special about the town I live in. I live in Riverside, CA and the only nice things here is the local mall, the plaza, downtown. And to be honest, there's one side of downtown where its real bad. I mean real bad. There's these nice looking houses down there but there's always the cops going down there because of gang-related stuff. Riverside itself has a lot of areas run by gangs. There's Casa Blanca, Hillside, East Side, and Arlanza areas. But after doing some research on Wikipedia, crime over here has decreased a bit.

The good thing though is Riverside is known as the "smog belt" due the high level of air pollution we have over here. On a more positive note, we have a Mission Inn down here. It's really nice. It's located in the downtown area and has a nice hotel, nearby restaurants, and a pretty cool looking Tavern across the street.

Another landmark we have over here is "Mt. Rubidoux". It's like 20 minutes away by drive but every year around the fourth of July or on New Year's eve, these people that live in that house way on top with the cross do this annual fireworks. It's not all flashy and Disneyland amazing but it's pretty cool to watch.

As for the election, it seemed that Hilary was going to beat Obama at first. But after hearing how the election has been going so far, I'm not sure whether to say she'll win or not. She does have the experience which I like but it's the attitude that Ann says that puts me off about here. Obama seems like a good candidate. Although the name "Obama" sounds similar to "Osama". This might sound naive but I wouldn't want to have someone similar to that name. Perhaps if he does win, America gives him a new name and calls him Bob or something.

From what I heard today, if Hillary doesn't win Pennsylvania BIG (as in 250,000) votes, she may drop out of the race by mid-May. Eh, it seems like Obama is going to win the Democratic nomination anyway. America loves a darkhorse (James K. Polk anybody?)

...I really meant other than the election because everyone hears about that from all over. Only bits and pieces really, but I kind of get what's going on.

I don't really remember why, but in some test thing for the presidential candidates on the CBS website, I remember reading in my results that I'd do best to vote for Clinton. So since then, I've been supporting Clinton. I don't care much about her husband but I thought he was a good enough president.

I was hoping Clinton would win, but I guess it's not going to happen. I don't know the specifics, but it seems she's pretty much out of it now. Kind of disappointing to hear.

  8. #38
    Welcome Setzer!

Clinton's own strategists say she has less than a 10% chance of winning. Obama has dominated since Super Tuesday. He has more experience than her (being a First Lady is not experience) and is a lot more positive. Hillary made the mistake of running as an incumbent in a year about change.

Haha well in my defense, I had no idea you were living in Orlando. I thought you were still... in... that other Florida town you lived in. If you're still in Orlando this summer, though, I may stay with Daniel in Daytona again. And then Orlando would be the next obvious step. I think hanging out sans Amber would be a good move. I don't know what we'd do, though. But then, if we come visit you, all we have to do is complain about how bored we are until you get so fed up you take us to a pizza place so we'll shoosh.

Presidents? I still don't... effing.. know... I still feel incredibly uneducated, even if I've heard campaign after campaign.

My favorite is Obama, but I'm a little concerned about his (yep) lack of experience. We're going to need someone who knows what he or she is doing to get us out of this Middle East mess. If he has that, awesome, that's exciting. But I'm still nervous. This election is really important and I hope we choose someone who can inherit a country trillions of dollars in debt and out of favor with most of the world.... and make lemonade.

not alot to say about the state or town. BA is a suburb of tulsa, theres more to say about tulsa, bars, casinos (only on indian owned land), pool halls and a few clubs. lots of buisnesses slow turning into mexico haha
on same hand theres not much to say about oklahoma, best thing to do here is party and some of the best looking women in the country (imo), 3.2 beer. but contrary to popular beleif we do have houses, the cowboy way is almost dead (YAY!) we have cars cable TV and internet. buffalows are not roaming the open range and indians dont run around scalping people (often.... j/k). Flat land & crazy weather about sums it all up

    Welcome Meier!

Also, Brandon, I have no idea what the hell you are talking about, if it is even being referred to me. I imagine it is baseball. I know it our past time and all, but I cannot get into it for some reason. I have been to a Marlins game, and I fell asleep.

Where did everyone go? The Australians are beating us. The Australians. Does this scare no one else?

    Bah, Australians. Kangaroos.

And yeah, I went to a Cardinals game with my youth group when I was in middle school and I think we left early because we were all so bored. We started out all excited... and then we realized we were only in the second inning. But then, it's not hard to bore a 12 year old.

I might give it another try.

Is this baseball we're talking about? Never been to an actual stadium, though I've watched countless games on TV with my uncle. Fun for a while, then it just feels so repetitive. Usually get bored and hide out in my room to come on here...

Why are we trying so hard to beat the Aussies again? They're really nice here, so it doesn't seem like such a bad thought to me.

Just some friendly competition, I guess. Doesn't really matter to me.

I live in Central Pennsylvania. Middle of everything in the state.

If you ever visit or even pass through PA, you need to check out Hersey Park and the town around it, Hershey. I mean it. It has everything for the whole family or just the couple wanting something different.

Zoo America, Hershey Hotel (w/chocolate baths), Factory tours, 3D theater, Rides, games.... I go every year. lol

    Exactly.

One of the things I don't like about baseball is that you have no idea how long they will go on for. It all depends on how long the inning lasts. In football, you are going for 3 to 3 and a half hours, even with overtime.

Did anyone watch the Office last night? I am so disappointed how bad it has gotten. I fell asleep during it. The British version is so much better.

    Hmm, mind if I join?

Born and raised in the U.S., and despite what other countries say, I'm proud of it! I believe we have an amazing history and lifestyle, and while of course there's things that go on that are "typical American" I wouldn't change my citizenship for anything.

I was born in southern California, in Glendora. My father being in the military, we moved a lot and went to most of the 'States. Due to moving so much, my mom home-schooled my three siblings and I until my dad retired in '98 and we moved to Idaho. I went to and graduated from a public high school, and now I go to college here.

For those who know anything about Idaho, you think 1 of 3 things: 1.) it's the land of potatoes, 2.) Its where Napoleon Dynamite was filmed, or 3.) No one knows where it is. I've heard them all.

I've traveled quite a bit, and last year I was very fortunate to visit Japan and Israel. I'm glad to have a home turf, and even though it's great meeting different people and visiting different cultures, I love being able to drive in controlled traffic and speak to someone in English. Ha.

Sorry, James, I was talking to Brad. Haven't gotten used to calling people by their rn yet ><. But I happen to be an avid fan of baseball. I was at the world series games when the Cards won in 2006. Pitching errors were everywhere ><

As for Baseball being boring. It's all a matter of perspective some people aren't inclined towards a sport like it. Some think it's a little silly. Some think it takes too long(which sometimes it really does). Some...blah blah.

But the reason that I love it is the strategy involved. It's an underground game of chess played by managers from the opposing teams. Each move their pieces and align them as best as they can(according to stats) but there is an element of luck and the variable of skill for the entire team. It's just such an intricate sport.

The one line that I found absolutely hilarious in Thursday's Office was "I can't prove it, but I think she might be trying to poison me." The rest of the episode was so bland. The British Office was okay, but the American creepy guy (Dwight) is so much better than the British.

I don't even remember what happened on Scrubs. Show's how interesting the episode was.

The Brewers have now lost 3 straight. It's crying time.

    Welcome, Rya!

And Alisyn, I felt the Office started going downhill halfway through Season Three, and Season Four has been uninteresting at best. I am kind of sad to see Scrubs circling the wagon, though. Just end!

Heres a subject: Whats the price of gas in your town? Here, it hovers from 3.25 to 3.39 for regular unleaded. It hurts a lot. I am saddened by it indeed.

Hmm, let's see.... the cheapest here is Costco gas, which is about $3.20 a gallon. Next are Albertsons and Fred Meyer, who sell for about $3.25. Most expensive is Shell and Chevron, which the highest so far is $3.39. My roommate just bought a motorcycle, I'm thinking of doing the same.

It's WAS around 3.39 here. Tao only knows what it is now. I usually don't keep track of it until it's time to refill and then I'm surprised and disenchanted at the same time, grumble about it and then forget about it. I would be truly upset but it never helps to gripe about something you can't change. In the end, you're only making it worse.

I think gas is up to about $3.46 to $3.50 a gallon. Thank God that when it comes to gas mileage my Escort is a tank. I get gas probably once every 2.5 weeks. Still hurts when I have to get it, though.

Why the hell is it so expensive up here?
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

Yeah, I walk whenever I can for a reason.

In Savannah, our lowest price is $3.22 and the highest gets to $3.49. Meanwhile, back home in Little Rock, the prices range from $3.15-$3.33. No fair.

When I get somewhere around half a tank, I usually fill up $10-$15 at a time and do what I can with it unless I'm on a long road trip. I love my gas mileage. Thank goodness for that.
    Curious?

Gas? Here it's about an average of $3.70 or something. The cheapest I've found with my brother was in Santa Ana for I think $3.63. That was the last time I checked though. I'm like Sinister. I'm annoyed while I'm at the station with my mom thinking "Just think of how much manga could be bought" then I totally forget about it after we pull out.

Problem is really that both my mom and brother commute. My mom fills up the tank maybe every four to five days and my brother every week. Little Toyota Camry s love their gas. ><
