OH MY GOD READING RAINBOW
I remember that shit on LASERDISC in school. Yeah. LaserDisc. I went there.
Come to think of it, that's a completely valid thing to remind me that I'm old.
Also, since I deal with videogames on a daily basis, I often get into conversations with customers and friends about gaming, and what got them into it. Then I realize that I was beating videogames back in the 80s.

That video is very obscure, but when I was at work and the president was at my desk, i felt "reading rainbow" was a safe thing to open....alas, the president now knows to (and I quote), "SUCK MY ****".
and I feel the same way whenever I hear people discussing final fantasy...It's got to a point I don't even know the new one that's coming out...I went to walmart and asked, and some kid asked me which one my kid wanted....I DONT EVEN HAVE A KID!! ****!

I'm 22 and I watched Reading Rainbow like, everyday :1
30, that intro still kind of creeps me out. This is ironic because last weeks episode of "Big Bang Theory" had the guy from 'Reading Rainbow' make a small appearance at the end of the episode. I remember getting to watch "3 2 1 Contact" back to back with R.R. and that was a great TV line-up back in the day.
God damn, you people so old, not even Pepperidge Farm remembers!
Ok, now that I got that out of my system...
Alright, things that make me realize how old I am... When somebody talks about movies, and I realize I own them... on VHS.
I remember owning computers with built in floppy disk drives.
I look at new Pokemon and reminisce about a time when it was cool, and there were few enough of them that I could actually name them all.
I can watch Boomerang, and remember when all of the cartoons were actually on Cartoon Network.
Socker Boppers, if you don't remember those, you suck. Many good times in my childhood were had attempting to pummel friends with inflatable gloves...
I remember Toonami, and it makes me feel old when people talk about it coming back, because it makes me realize how long it was gone.
Reminiscing about things when I drive past my elementary middle or high school. ****, I've only been out of school for 4 years, why the Hell am I reminiscing already?
Realizing that I find many teenagers obnoxious, when it still hasn't entirely sunk in that I'm not one anymore.
The list goes on...
Edit: Realizing that I've bothered to compile a list.
For Our Lord Sheogorath, without Whom all Thought would be linear and all Feeling would be fleeting. Blessed are the Madmen, for they hold the keys to secret knowledge. Blessed are the Phobic, always wary of that which would do them harm. Blessed are the Obsessed, for their courses are clear. Blessed are the Addicts, may they quench the thirst that never ebbs. Blessed are the Murderous, for they have found beauty in the grotesque. Blessed are the Firelovers, for their hearts are always warm. Blessed are the Artists, for in their hands the impossible is made real. Blessed are the Musicians, for in their ears they hear the music of the soul. Blessed are the Sleepless, as they bask in wakeful dreaming. Blessed are the Paranoid, ever-watchful for our enemies. Blessed are the Visionaries, for their eyes see what might be. Blessed are the Painlovers, for in their suffering, we grow stronger. Blessed is the Madgod, who tricks us when we are foolish, punishes us when we are wrong, tortures us when we are unmindful, and loves us in our imperfection.

I remember Reading Rainbow, but I was too old to watch it, and I never let any of my children watch it. I never understood the point. It's impossible to read rainbows, since rainbows are simply an optical illusion caused by reflection from water particles in the atmosphere. It has no words, so you can't read it.
Also, although I have seen Reading Rainbow once or twice, I don't remember the theme being so racist. However, if it was the "blacks" saying the "******" word, then it really can't be too racist. Because the law states that only white people can be racist. Because whites owned slaves. Like, over a hundred years ago. When I was but a wee lad.
I felt old when humming the Tom and Jerry theme earlier at work (can't remember why, but something had put the tune up there). A colleague asked where that was from. When I told them, they had no idea what I was talking about. Not going to lie... How did someone the same age as me not see Tom and Jerry?
I'm also kinda like Loco. Games do it for me a lot, but I'm not even that old. I remember my PSOne days, and hold them so dear that if someone else can remember that mean timed blade puzzle in Tomb Raider Revelations, smashing the shit out of bad guys that produced from tin can makers in Wild 9, witnessed the death of the flower girl in Final Fantasy VII and power punched dopey bad guys of precarious ledges in Rayman, we can be great friends and probably are soul mates.
While my knowledge isn't all that vast, I tend to be the most knowledgable at work. I get a lot of customers who just want to chat all day with me, but then I get in trouble. That makes me feel old too, because I didn't get in trouble discussing these things with others my age growing up, but now that I'm in a job that requires a bit of knowledge... I'm OP'd.
Originally, Tom and Jerry were two humans, but when the cat and mouse duo came along they were renamed to D ick and Larry. I don't know this because I am old, but because I love to watch all the Black-and-White cartoons (Betty Boop, Farmer Alfalfa, the Alice cartoons, etc.)
I agree about the Pokemon thing. There are some kids now that don't even know what a Squirtle is. Then I think that maybe I am getting out of touch, since I have no clue about all the new ones. Games were so simple back then. The object of most games was to headbutt or buttstomp on your enemies. Now, enemies are immune to all that and require lasers or some fancy weapon to defeat.
Plus points for Entity's Wild 9 reference! I have only ever played the demo on that disc the PlayStation magazine provided. That's another thing that you know you're old(ish). Demos came from discs, not downloaded or whatnot.

I'm 25 and I haven't seen that (course ma was pretty possessive of the tv back then...)

Almost none of you have got how old I am, and I'm not even the oldest one round these here parts.70s kiddo FTW! Wait... wut? Not sure that's something to be proud of on an internetz board.
Hmmm, what makes me feel old is reading about what makes everyone else feel old. Yup. That sucks!

You know you're young when everyones complaining about being old when theyre only 30 and im 22.
im 22. Im lean, im sexy and I eat tins of garlic tuna.
I know im old because I look at the generations below and I actually think to myself , "Fkn punk kids."
I think he's channeling Einstein's theory of relativity.
Whenever I log on facebook and see music videos kids post these days, petty things they complain about... hell, sometimes I feel so old I go out and yell at kids.

Age and 'old' is a perception. Anyone whos in their 30s wishes they were in their 20s, anyone whos in their 50s wishes they were in their 30s.
and garlic tuna has everything to do with anything.
Well Tiff I see we no longer know each other lol. Yeah....I come back and stalk occasionally.
1. The grocery store and commercials have started playing good music.

I remember trying to explain to one of my younger cousins that there wasn't internet and emails when I was a kid, in fact people didn't start getting personal computers that were able to connect to the internet until I was about 15 or 16.![]()
Weird (to me) that there's kids out there who are that age now and have no concept of life before the Internet. But I think that can apply to a good majority of people on here?
Cheese were you on Square Ultima too? I think you were!

Ah, life before the internet. When it was safe to go outside and ride your bike in neighborhoods you've never seen before, and play tackle football in the middle of the street, and jump off of tall buildings while playing complex games of dodgeball tag.
