I felt old a few months ago when I made a reference to Teddy Ruxpin & "'Bout it 'Bout it" (Ya know.. Master P, Make Em Say Ugh? 96?) and these 18/19 yr old kids I worked with were like "Mmmmkay, you been smoking reefer this morning? Who the hell is Teddy Ruxpin and what's Bout it Bout it?"
I turned 30 in december. Now I feel realllly old D:
In more amazing news though, i booked my wedding and its in a museum with trains and planes. You're only as old as you feel! *fist pump* Im having a Doctor Who wedding cake.
And I got drunk on a Thursday this week, that's unhead of in my life these days! Maybe turning 30 has unleashed a new lease of life!
Wait till chirrens get thrown into the mix.
You'll be 45 in 2 yrs and the kiddos will be going thru that "angsty pre-teen/teen" phase.
Peepers turned 5 Jan 4th. It seems like 2 wks ago she was a preemie-sized newborn who couldnt wear shoes cuz her feet were too small.
Already got the kids, and by god, there wont be anymore, if anything ages you, its bloody kids!

I'd like a couple more, but not with a huge age difference like that. My brother and sister are 10 and 12 yrs older than me. I was pretty much raised like an only child.
I think ive hit the cut off point for more kids even if i did want them now, shes 8 in a fortnight (shes going to be a teenager before i know it uggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) and the boyfriend has a 5 and a half year old - more than enough for me lol, especially when life these days consits of battles over brown bread..... alas.

Went into a gas station in Dallas... They didn't even bother asking. Kind of a let down. haha
All the damn gray hairs! I can't stress this enough. I hatem, especially when so much of my hair is still a dark brown. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And don't even get me started on shaving every day. >_< It's the most expensive national pass-time!

I used to pluck Francisco's grey hairs lmao... I counted them one day & he got annoyed w me & made me pluck em. It's not an easy task.

So I read the thread title and thought to myself, "I know exactly what I can say in this thread! I must post here." Then, as I was reading some of the responses, I completely forgot what I was going to say. Is forgetfulness in the same realm as teenage kids, gray hairs, LeVar Burton and male pattern baldness? Probably not. LeVar doesn't seem that old to me.

I am in my early 30s so I'm certainly not as old as some people here, but I can pinpoint the exact moment when I started feeling old. It has nothing to do with the evolution of movies, video games or the de-evolution of cartoons. It has nothing to do with recently wiping over 20 years of dust out of a box that contained my old Atari 2600 and all its games. It has nothing to do with watching old television shows like Mr. Wizard's World or Reading Rainbow, knowing people who sported mullets in the late 80s/early 90s or having a younger sibling who has obtained a ****ing master's degree.
The exact moment I started feeling old was six years ago this May. One of my close female friends was expecting her first child. Instead of saying "....!!!!!!!! *eyes wide open* *spit-take* *jawdrop* *runs away*" my response was "Wow! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!"
I started feeling old right at that point. Not a moment sooner.
Kids definitely have a way of showing you how fast time actually goes, and making you feel old for sure! LOL
One thing that made me feel old recently was a conversation I had with a younger co-worker who is always on the his cell phone when he isn't suppose to be. So one day I got fed up and asked him "How did you live without a cellphone when you were younger? You don't always have to be on the damn thing!" And his simply said, "I don't remember not having a cell phone." I hate him. :shake:
lawlz.. I remember talking to a group of 5th graders about technology.. And I was like "I remember -not- having a computer" and explaining to them what a 4.5" floppy disk was and how there was no internet. They were like "Woooahhhh... Miss Jamie... You're kinda old." They freaked out even more when I mentioned my mom being the first kid on her block to have a tv in her house when they were invented.
Then one night, I was walking around downtown Phoenix with someone at like 9 pm and these kids were like "Ey gurl! Whassyo name!? How old are you?" and I'm like "Probably -way- too old for you, son." They bugged me and I finally told them I was 21.. One of 'em goes "DAMN! I thought you were like our age... We're 14. You're still pretty hot though."
It was... awkward to say the least.
My little girl started crying one day.. I asked her what was wrong and she goes, "Mommy! I don't want you to get old and wrinkly like Gram!" .. Poor thing.
aw i remember before mobiles we would arrange to meet somewhere and you just had to be there as there was no way of getting in touch
and we actually went to knock on for our mates, not throw them a text, or these days fb message!!
I'll admit to not knowing how the hell I coped before phones and internets
