I'm not sure if time actually flies. I think time itself is completely relative, and it really depends on a number of factors. If you're watching the second hand on a clock at rest, and then compare it to another person's equally accurate clock, but change certain factors such as gravitational mass, one clock may appear to move slightly faster than the other.
Did you know that clocks on earth run slightly faster than clocks on the international space station? There could be many factors that could influence this, but the obvious one is gravity. Perhaps being pulled in orbit by the earth's gravity causes a bit of time dilation in space. It's not by much, but it's certainly observable. Since gravity bends spacetime, sometimes time can appear to go by much quicker or slower than at other times.
