Snobby Music Discussion: The Thread (oh yeah guys by the way Amy Winehouse is dead)
On Topic: Not too familiar with her music, I think she did a cover of Monkey Man that was pretty good? I may be wrong. Thoughts and prayers to her friends and family, but I think I'll somehow be able to go on with my life.
since its almost 5am and I'm really tired atm, I'll just say that its cool for people to like what they want to like, but I see a lot of people bashing widely acclaimed artists like Hendrix because it's the "hipster" thing to do. (not liking famous bands/musicians, I mean). I'm not saying you're doing it for that specific reason Maridia, but I just find that a bold opinion to have. It's w/e though, end result is drugs are bad and that Amy Winehouse will never have a Last Friday Night again. :(
This post is alot better, i commend you for a good response.
I wasnt attacking your dislike towards them, just that you called them talentless.
Infact im with you on artists getting too much love, i agree that alot in the 27 club are way over rated.
But they all had talent and influenced millions :)
My sister is huge fan of her's, I on the other hand can't stand her music, this was inevitable I guess, with her lifestyle and all. All that's left to be said is rest in peace Amy.
Sorry, I just had to add, Katy Perry sings California Girls.Quote:

I agree that the massacre in Norway was disgusting and a lot more tragic than Amy's death, but death is death either way, and neither deserve more attention than the other.
Nick. I've lost all hope in you. For those replies right there.
BTW I like how Pamela Anderson is in that video with Justin Timberlake in your sig.
That's Lady Gaga!!Quote:

R.I.P Amy
Elton john is going to sing a rendition of 'Candle under a spoon' at the funeral.

I'm a little annoyed by a lot of the jokes and comments my friends have made about her death, especially the ones along the lines of "stupid slag deserved to die!" To me, it just shows that person's value of human life, and it's quite sickening that anyone would think anyone deserves to die.
Going by their logic, it's good to know that if I ever hit a low point in my life, and died as a result of it, that I'd deserve it; even better to know that my friends who have made crazy lifestyle choices deserve to die too. ¬¬
As for her music, I liked it. She had a pretty good "jazzy" voice, and I liked that. She had a lot of talent, and it's sad that that talent is gone because of her bad decisions. She could have done well/better with herself if she'd cleaned her act up, and could have led a happy life. That's not to say not being clean was what made her unhappy or happy, but... yeah.
i can't say im arsed about her one way or the other, afew of her tracks are listen to able, never really pay attention to what was going on in her life, it was just the same old winehouse is pissed
FB has exploded. i dont see how people can be so shocked about a junkie dying or finding it sad and getting offended when people just dont give a shit
sure its a shame someone died, but its no one i know or care about so im not arsed
apparently her music is flying back up the charts/album charts. I dont get that either...
another one of those that will end up more famous in death, than she was alive no doubt.
A wise man called John Lennon once said 'Everybody loves you when your six feet under'
He was right. And became an example of what he said, because he has many wannabe fans that idolize his tragic death instead of idolizing his life/music.
So does Michael Jackson, so does Piccasso! and now Amy Winehouse, she is gaining new fans as we speak.
I have to say that I don't give a shit. She was a stupid crackhead junkie, who had some real talent. She cashed that talent in and bought more drugs and got herself in with the wrong crowds. You can't really be surprised, and from the looks of it, she really didn't try to fix herself up. The only difference between her and any other junkie was that someone had discovered her and she made lots of money because she had a voice.
