The sound of plants burning after the spark of a lighter.
So, I was just chilling, doing a whole lot of nothing, and noticed that my brother had his air conditioner on. The sound of it is oddly soothing to me, so it got me thinking of the other things that people hear that can make them feel at ease.
Note: The sounds don't necessarily have to be in your everyday life. I just wanted a snazzy title for mah thread.
The sound of my wall clock ticking relaxes me too. I once bought a brand new clock, because I liked how it looked, but once I put the batteries in it and set it up, I couldn't get used to the new ticking sound. It seemed louder, and just...different. So I got rid of it and put up my old clock, where it still hangs to this day. ^^

The hum my computer and PS3 make when they're on. When I turn everything off, my room is way too quiet and I can hear everything else going on.
The sound of an electric guitar being taken to the brink.
Roy Kahn's voice. (As gay as that sounds. The dude has an amazing voice.)
My girlfriend's voice.

What a great topic Dodie16 great idea. The simple sounds of everyday that are soothing to me are actually similare to yours. I love the sound of the Heater when it turns on as well as the sound of a Fan they produce what is called "White Noise" and such they are very relaxing to hear for me. Another relaxing sound is when the lovely birds are chirping outside or the sounds of the wind and rain etc. I also like to hear the bells ring at the city square where I live as well.
Well, there are the sounds I like. Anyone else like to share?
I like certain pieces when played on the piano. My dad used to play them very, very often when I was a kid (probably a baby) and when I sit down near the piano and listen to them I become sort of sleepy. It's nice.
Rain at night is another one. But it normally has to be at night. If I hear it during the day I immediately assume that it is cloudy outside, and I don't normally like cloudy days. But yeah, night's are good. I sleep easier, even if it isn't real (nature sound tracks work just as well).

Honestly, I like the sound of Fans, so freaking relaxing, because they remind me of thunderstorms.
Ahh, I am feeling nostalgic, and cannot wait till june for the heat-waves to roll in.

Me and my best friend have picnics a lot on lunch breaks because we're dorks. I like the sound of trees rustling under light breezes. I also like the sound of rain and Piano like S.
I love rainy days as long as I'm not outside in it They're the days where I like to stay home and relax or have movie nights. I do like when it's drizzling. I can never stand and enjoy it though, unless I want my hair to frizz
When I go to piano practice, I sit and listen to what the people in the rooms next to me are playing. It's nice and it helps me focus.
Bird chirping is another favorite of mine. I've had budgies since I was 8 so, I'm just fond of birds.
I love the sound of my victims crying out in pain as I drain their life juices out of their jugulars. Gets me every time...
I agree with rain when I am inside. I will take a step further and also say the sound of thunder. Good time to read a book. I also like the sound of a vacuum cleaner, washing machine, and fan. It's like it gives me a warm feeling on my outsides, the vacuum cleaner especially. Also, the fan in my bathroom. I don't know why. I'm weird. Also, certain techno songs or jazzy songs (mostly without vocals) relax me. Particularly if I'm in a car or walking around at night. Also, relaxed, mid-to-deep voices relax me. Male or female. Probably mostly female. Can't have a timber or too much of a rasp to it though. Anyhoo...

I can't really think of anything. I hate when my heat comes on because its super loud, I hate when my dishwasher or laundry is going because I can hear them from anywhere in my apartment (I have a studio). I usually have music going almost 80% of the day anyway, so I guess that'd be what relaxes me.
I love hearing the cars going by past my window at night. Theres something about hearing the low woosh as they speed by, along with the engines gently revving, that I find incredibly comforting.
I love to hear crickets and frogs making their noises when I'm upstate. There's something about it that's obviously so different from anything I have heard in Queens, that at first it was a culture shock. Now I find myself missing it and then loving it and feeling very at peace when I do hear it.
