    PSU: PowerLine VP-530W

    GPU: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB DDR3

    HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook
    Intel i5 m450 @ 2.40 ghz
    4gb ram
ATI radeon mobility 5650hd (not sure if that's correct, I can't find the details on my computer, someone posted the same specs as what I have, so I assumed it's the same)
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    64 bit
    Total available graphics memory 1696mb

I'm having problems. Can you guys give me some advice? I have Sims 3 and Sims 3 Pets installed and it's running real slow when I play. I only started having problems when I installed Sims 3 Pets. I have no idea about this stuff, that's why I'm asking. Thanks.

That laptop is very capable of playing the sims 3 at highest settings. Can you describe what is happening in more detail? The 'slow' is a lag or slow load times? A quick fix would be for you to set the graphics to low, but seems to be an unessary move for you to make since your laptop should be able to run it properly.

When I try to click on something, like to make a sim do something, it freezes for about 30 seconds and then it will unfreeze, then I'll try again and it freezes again. I ended up starting a new game but it happened again.

It only happens with pets. Should I reinstall it or something?

Reinstalling it would be the first thing you should try. I believe that sims now uses origin also, so if theres an option to update it as well, do that. Also try closing any uneeded programs running in the background. Although I think reinstalling it will solve the issue.

    Intel core i7 2600k
    ASRock P67 Extreme 4
    2 x 4 x 2GB G.Skill ripjaws 1600 Mhz
    2 x 1TB Western Digital 7200 RPM 6.0 Gb/s
    2 x Radeon HD 6870
    BD writer
    Creative 7.1 Channel sound card

Itsa beast. but I have way too much RAM. In the future I will add a 3rd HDD, which will be a solid state

    Re: Post your computer Specs!

So I finally upgraded the aging HD 6850 I had and got a shiny new LED monitor.

    CPU: Core i7 870 (2.93GHz, quad core)
    Mainboard: Asus P55 OEM
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD 7850 OC 2GB 256-bit GDDR5, core OCed to 1 GHz
Storage: 1.5TB Seagate Barracuda 7200 rpm
    Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333
    Display: 20" Acer LED (1600*900)
    Case: Dell Studio

    WEI:
    7.5
    7.5
    7.9
    7.9
    5.9

Almost maxes out every game, Metro 2033, BF3, Crysis 2, Arkham City, DiRT Showdown... save for some obscure and unnoticeable details like motion blurred soft particles, compute based depth of field or global illumination that just serve to impact frames big time but produce no increase to visual fidelity.
