Our Cheesiverse as we know it.

Ah, how much I detest those awful, cheesy sentences. You know, the ones like the sickeningly sweet aftertaste you get after grape juice. Yeah, RIGHT in your throat sweetness. For example "Ooooh, you made me dinner??? Bless your heart! *hand placed gently over chest, eyes watering up, lips becoming a suspiciously pruned smile*
Bewildered, I can only look on in acute befuddlement, *side of mouth twitching* "wha-HUT," I say - "WHAT - DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!?!? WERE YOU RAISED IN A PAINTING?!? Was your backside resting on creamy, rose-colored Clouds drifting lazily across the screen, babies and cherubs flying happily around shooting pink hearts at people during your childhood? Why can't you just say 'thank you' and end it? Why disturb people so? Why explode brains? It's just counterproductive. I mean, I'm seriously considering never doing anyone a favor again, not if I've got more cheese-drenched sentences like THOSE on the horizon..."
*exhausted exhale* Yeah, I guess I'm a tad unhinged at this juncture.
Anyway, Got any sickening sentences or criminally cliche acts you wanna vent on? Go ahead.
    ~I'm sorry I haven't been around very much~

Re: Our Cheesiverse as we know it.

Wanna know what grinds my goat? When people say "If it was meant to be, it was meant to be" Now what the hell could that possibly mean? How is that sentence at all productive when applied to any situation. Most of all, how in the hell could you possibly know if something was meant to be. Its everything I hate rolled up into 1 ugly sentence. They are claiming that some divine power had intended for it to happen therefor nothing could have been done to change the outcome? I believe its a phrase used by people who are downright lazy and an excuse for others who would claim that they are not responsible for the outcome of their actions. This is also a term that is heavily used by people with religious belief.

Another saying I hate is "the best things in life are free" and to quote a brilliant man:
"some of the worst things in life are free too and I dont see anyone throwing a party when they get cancer".

I know this next one isn't exactly cheesy, but when people say "what we dont know, wont hurt us" is really dumb, since its what we dont know that eventually kills us.

Haha, you kind of reminded me of one of my best friends in this thread, cyanosuke. She has a similar view as you on this type of stuff.

I actually like cheesy stuff at times. And yes, I might as well have been raised in a painting and my backside is resting on creamy, rose-coloured clouds drifting lazily across the screen, and babies and cherubs are flying happily around shooting pink hearts at people in my life.

No, but really, I kind of see the world with rose tinted glasses sometimes. I find cheesy pick-up lines funny (though I wouldn't fall for one) and I tend to find cheesy jokes funny. However, I don't see how a line such as "you made me dinner? Bless your heart" is cheesy, though. Just seems like someone being really appreciative to me. Then again, I, a cheesy person, am likely to be the one saying the line in the first place, so what do I know? Haha.

Re: Our Cheesiverse as we know it.

I was really hoping this was going to be a thread about cheese based puns. Then I could have said something like "This thread is very gouda!" or "Gosh I hope this thread doesn't turn into a munster!" Then I probably would have leaned back in my chair, put my hands behind my head, and breathed a sigh of relief at a job well done.

Also, apparently I need to hit on Halie because I know a bunch of bad pick up lines.

I need some ****ing wine to read anymore of this thread. <3

The phrase: "it is what it is," irks me a little now. My mom always says it, but ever since my boss started to say it I really started to loathe it. It's like: thanks, I know that already, do you have anything productive to say at all? A sarcastic comment, perhaps? Bitch, please.

@Rowan: I've heard that phrase used in references to "fate" as well, I didn't know if you categorized that under "religious," but I thought I'd throw that out there because I don't necessarily think that that always has to do with a higher power. I also don't think it's always used for lazy people, I've heard it used in reference to relationships a lot; mainly to comfort some poor soul who fell in love with an asshat. But you know, there's always the whole "**** him he's an asshat, move on" philosophy too.

Ah yes, that sickeningly sweet attitude, what you would call Smarmy -- that insincere, demeaning, fake smile, holier-than-thou obnoxiousness that is everything that I hate rolled up into one attitude.

Smarmy people, to me, pretty much seem like anybody who is weak-minded and afraid of everything, but still wants to feel superior when talking to others.

Often times, when I'm given a smarmy compliment with underlying tones of condescension and disrespect -- I retort with "f*** you. I love to see their shock and surprise. I love giving them that "yeaaah I see right through you" look.

Also, while we're speaking about cheese... my favorite is Chevre - the soft goat cheese. Nom nom.

    I. Am. So. Happy. For. You. (the cheesiness continues)

You find satisfaction in cheese puns. Fantastic! Far be it from me to stop you. Fire away if you so desire.
Fun Fact: As a child I was caught sleep-talking. Upon carefully listening, my dad and sister both agreed that I had been listing exotic cheese names in quick succession. In real life I know like, three cheeses at best. I like Feta cheese with those really salty olives (not sure what they're called) wrapped in soft bread and dipped in extra virgin olive oil

Smarmy. That word reminds me of jam for some reason.
And that 'F' stuff? Not sure on that sort of behavior, they'd probably think I'd gone nutzoidy, and I do try to keep up appearances, but, good luck widat.

Back on subject: I also dislike the cliche where the woman goes in for a handshake and the guy snatches her hand and smooches it. Oof! X*

First off I wanna point out I only started reading because the word cheese was involved in some way shape or form. Secondly I didn't quite get WTF you were talking about, but I think I understand the point. With that I will tell all the sentences I hate people to say.

Keep in mind I live in Texas......AKA Satans Anus

    "It's hot" <----------------Me: No Sh**
"Everything is bigger in Texas"<------------------Me: No it's not
    "Boy it's a day for drinkin n fishin"<-----------Me: It's called a Tuesday

    My MOST hated question
"Why don't people leave Texas"<-----Me: because our state is 5x the size of yours put together....it's a little harder to escape.

You might think texas is the biggest state but it's not... that title belongs to North and South Carolina. They count as one state, and I've been stuck in the Carolinas since I was 17... I'm 23 now. Sad part is... I'm starting to like it here.

No, they don't... That's why they're two states: north and south.

When I write a letter to South Carolina I'm sure I have put "South Carolina" and not just Carolina. Which would make South and North Carolina two separate states. Seriously.......23......>> *I have lost faith in humanity. :-(
