    Oh the memories

Do you guys have any keepsakes from childhood that you can just never seem to throw away?

I still have my Pokemon cards in a binder, along with a ton of old drawings from when I was at least 7 years old of Dragon Ball Z and whatnot. Never once played with them (because who needs rules right?), but collected and traded with my friends a lot. Never ever got that Charizard... I remember the exact place during recess where the whole thing got started.

A collection of very old letters (Christmas/Birthday/greetings). Wasn't able to bring myself to throw them away then, can't now either. Some of these people I haven't talked to in over 11+ years and can't even remember their faces at times. They were some of my best friends though.

A smooth black rock. I picked it up from a trail during my elementary school summer camp trip. I opened one of my dresser drawers one day and, BAM, there it was just sitting there. That brought back a lot of memories. They're all hazy, but I'm surprised they're still there at all.

    Nostalgia, GO!

Despite being 21. A bunch of friends and me just got back into the pokemon trading card game.
I like you never really played, i collected, traded, sold, and bought them.
Thought it didn't last long, it was fun. Quite the nostalgia kick.

I kept a lot of relics from my childhood up until recently, always parting with another piece sooner or later when i decide i have to much junk.
I just recently gave a lot of my toys to my nephews. Donated the rest.
Not really sure what i have left.

My sonic plushy i bought in Vegas in 95 (guessing). I absolutely loved sonic when i was little. Played every game, watched the horrible tv series.

I saved good chunk of my drawings so far, it's kinda neat to go through all of them and see how much you actually improved over the years. I also have two almost filled Digimon sticker albums, several Pokemon trading cards, and few I made on my own. My most precious child hood possession though is Link's Awakening cartridge I got as a final present from my deceased friend.

    Re: Oh the memories

I have a memory box to keep things like that in (though I still continue to put new things in there that in wanna remember).

I have my first birthday card from my best friend in there that he hand-made for me, it has a picture of Donald Duck on the front. It's my favourite card I've ever gotten, bless his cotton socks. It's got pictures of me and my childhood best friend, Jessie playing in her Wendy house in there, old drawings I did that I was proud of ad thought would be funny to look back on when I'm older, there are concert tickets. There's a giant Welsh flag my dad bought me when we went to the Reading Music Festival when I was 11 (I think), which I got signed by Welsh band Funeral For A Friend. The lead singer high-fived me because I was Welsh, too, I thought it was pretty cool haha. Oh, and it has my first love letter in there too (and only so far ) from a boy I was really good friends with in year 7, and at the end of the year he had to move away so he confessed that he liked me before he left with the letter . It also has a story that me and my best friend wrote called Candyland when we were about 12. I'll dig it out of there in a few years and show it to him, he'll probably be really embarrassed haha.

There's lots of other things in there too, but those are the things I can remember most. I'm a bit of a hoarder with stuff like that.

    Re: Oh the memories

ive got a few shoe boxes full of random tat. Ive still got the folder full of tazos somewhere, old Alton towes and cinema tickets, i tend to have a habit of keeping train tickets as well, Ive got a few bus tickets dating as far back as 1998... Im pretty sure they cooincide with the Titanic cinema tickets hahaha

Ive got some teddy bear drawings from when i was 8 and a half. other random doodles, couple of half arsed diaries

Oh, and a ball of foil that started out as a rolled up kitkat foil wrapper which i just ended up adding too, and now its quite hefty.

Theres one or 2 really shrivelled up conkers as well, still with the shoe lace through one of them

Id quite like a nice box to store my memories in, the ones that cant be pinned up on my wall at least, rather than the tatty old shoe boxes with scrawlings of KELLY 4 whoever it was all those years ago haha

I still keep my old Gameboy Colour in a drawer in my room. I got it when I was between 5 and 7, I can't actually remember the exact age or date. The screen no longer works and the battery case is long gone but I think I'm gonna hoard that thing 'till the day I die.

That's really all I have from my early childhood. Stuff tends to get boxed up and sold or thrown out when you move halfway across the world. Tis but a shame.

I have a bunch of toys that I've never gotten rid of set up around my room, some in tubs, and some just lying around. I have nutcrackers, collector's cups, bottles, etc. In particular, there is an invid figurine from Robotech holdingan old Wild Cherry Pepsi can as if he is drinking from it. He has been that way since 6th or 7th grade. Also, there is Bruiser from Bucky O'Hare sitting on Genie's Lamp and Bart Simpson being eaten by a frog somewhere. I also have an unopened 8 oz. bottle of coke from the 97 Christmas series, some board games and stuff I never play but my brother gave me so I keep them, a "Hebron Brick" from Hebron, ND... I have a lot of random stuff. Some of it has been torn up by the cat () but some of it has survived. Anyhoo....

    Re: Oh the memories

I have some old Barbies in a big plastic tub in the back of my closet. Most have never been removed from the original packaging, because I was naive enough to think that those would be worth money someday... Yeah, maybe when I'm like...90 or something. My prize collection is my Polly Pockets. I have TON of those. They're also chilling in the back of my closet. Maybe when I have kids of my own, they can play with that stuff. :3

I started keeping all my birthday/Christmas/whatever else kind of cards I get when I was 16, so I have a pretty solid collection going of those.

That's probably all that's really notable from me, but my older bro has a LOT of awesome stuff from his childhood he kept around: His SNES and games, Pokemon cards, his damn POG collection... All nostalgic. :3 I am almost envious of him.

    Re: Oh the memories

I don't have much from my childhood. What I do tend to find is a stuffed animal collection I have stashed away somewhere. I used to have a bunch as a kid. Most have gone to the land of better homes.

I can't remember the last time I found something nostalgic. WAIT! I do. I found my old PS1 not too long ago. I lost it a long time ago, and I remember going insane trying to look for it. My sister found it. I remembered how I got it too. It was a prize at school. You could buy tickets for a draw. There was one where you could be a principal for a day and one for a PS1. I put a lot of money into the principal draw, but only about 2-3 tickets into the PS1 draw. Both were really popular. The names were picked in front of the whole school. I really can't remember what event it was, but my name was drawn for the PS1. Best day of my life. Maybe it was fate, who knows. That PS1 lead to me getting addicted to Spyro (because it was easy...got bored of it quickly though) and Final Fantasy (and have been addicted to it since XD FF FTW). I also had a Tomb Raider game that I couldn't get into, and a Harry Potter game that I never finished because I couldn't get past the troll. The game kind of sucked though.

    Re: Oh the memories

I keep all sorts of junk, haha. I still have some of my old school books that I was proud of (my Religious Education folder was ten times thicker than everyone elses, and I got through three note books in my Drama classes, complete with diagrams and descriptions of my work). I have a large folder of all my artwork from school too. That's my pride and joy, I think.

I have a few drawings I did when I was a kid laying around. My favourite is a drawing of my favourite teacher from primary school. Once, after a particularly bad day at school, I almost ripped it up in despair. I'm glad I didn't.

I used to collect Dragon Ball Z cards... someone stole them from me at school. Meh. I still have one or two about, but my "rare" ones are long gone. =(

I still have my old phones too. Chargers are all missing, but I still keep them. Some have photos on them I wish to keep.

    Re: Oh the memories

I used to have a Simba stuffed toy. I absolutely loved him to bits. I used to wash him and give him a hair cut and I took him EVERYWHERE with me.

I also used to have this monkey stuffed toy called Chocky. He was blue and had numbers and letters all over him and a red nose and a yellow mouth. His hands and feet had something like rice in them, so it hurt if you ever hit yourself with it or someone else. I loved him to bits too! But I'm so sad because I lost them in the floods I must have completely forgotten about them! I feel so guilty. Because I don't know about you, but when I was young, I thought my toys were alive and had feelings. I bet they're so sad and angry at me, wherever they ended up. I wonder where they are?

Other than that I don't keep anything. Stuff is stuff to me.

Oh my gosh, it's like the annoying facebook girl follows me wherever I go...

So, today I helped clean out all kinds of random junk from my mom's collection of random junk, and I found some old plates that I painted flowers on back when I was like 12 or so. I had thought those were long gone, but what a surprise to see those again. I also remember thinking what a masterpiece they were when I first did them, but now...ick. I'm surprised my parents kept them for that long.

Um... wrong thread? The annoying internet quotes is in the other thread.

In addition to the things I talked about before, I have some shirts I probably won't ever get rid of. There's this damned Chewbacca shirt, a shirt from my grade school, and I think maybe a batman one. And someone said something about video games. I still gots all my NES games. There's like 15 or 16 of them. And SNES games. And Gameboy Games. Yay, games.

I need to straighten my shit out, though. Figure out what I need and what I don't need. Anyhoo...
