LOL I don't get it. Where is it at?
Sign in to AIM...
In your BROWSER (Mine is IE) type aim:GoChat?RoomName=TFFChat, and it will automatically enter the room (if it isn't filled up, of course.)
I dont get it but ill try?!?!
...guys, it's not that hard. If you have AIM, open it. Then, send yourself a chat invitation to the room tffchat or, if you prefer, type aim:GoChat?RoomName=TFFChat into your browser... it's been said three times now. If you don't know what your browser is, maybe you shouldn't be on the internet.
(The browser is the window that the webpages come up in, for the record.)

Alright.. Here is a easier way of explaining this. I'll show you how to do it.. All you have to do are these steps.. IN ORDER! Also, have AIM open when you do this.
1) Open your browser up (doesnt matter what kind, just an internet browser you use to look at webpages). here
2) Type this in (No quotations) "aim:GoChat?RoomName=TFFChat" into your browser window. here
3) Hit the "enter" key. It should direct you to the chat room
See, is really wasnt that hard now was it?
Wait... HAS the room been filled up?
The most I have seen in the room at one time (not active though ) was around.. 15 - 20 people at the most. I dont know about other times but there can be "interesting" conversations that spawned this thread.Originally Posted by Yuna

And as someone said before:
Add yourself to your buddy list. Send a chat invite to yourself and in the chatroom name put TFFCHAT (caps doesn't matter) and it'll zip ya right in. I do it all the time though rarely is something goen on.
And LIV, I don't have AOL either...I just downloaded AIM....JUST the messenger part of AOL.
There is also AIM express where you can log in without downloading the messenger, although you're limited in what you can do on it.

Or you don't even have to have yourself in it. =P
Just invite anyone, and replace their SN with yours. ^^
I'm getting an awesome kick out of how many people are confused by such a simple thing.
Nothing goes on in the chat anymore. Where did all the fun times go?
You started coming in the chat again, Alex. That's the whole probelm !
Just kidding. Or am I?
But yeah, it's really not that hard, unless you're completely computer illiterate. Which is pretty hard to be considering the fact you're on the internet using a forum, which isn't any harder then using AIM. That, or maybe I'm just crazy.
turd burglar.
Hardly anyone talks in it...
REMEMBER JET OMG
It's actually quite active at times, but with a mostly American crowd, most people are asleep by the time you would be around to chat with us.

Wouldn't it be a tonne better if the chatroom were on IRC? There'd be a lot more control over it, and more accessable.
You are not an FF character.
I'm used to that now. I just sit in the chatroom for 3 hours and then there will be a burst of activity which lasts for 30 minutes and then activity fades away again.Originally Posted by Livana
Basically what LocoColt said, the chatroom is more active when the British people are sleeping.
Nah, IRC is useless these days. Besides, I think very few others here use IRC. AIM is more.. Easier to use.Originally Posted by Daddy
Anyway, you also dont have to even invite yourself in. Just put in a bunch of different random characters, eg "dfjhbdskj" and you can still get it. Its faster you know
For something that has been around so long, IRC is far from useless.
I mean, what are you after that IRC doesn't already have?
I've never used AOL before, but I can assure you, IRC is really not that hard to use. At all
With IRC you have some ****head who is in power giving other ****heads power and then it just turns into a power struggle or a kick fest. We have idiots here whining about the Forum being corrupt, the last thing we need is some bitch whining about how some asshole kicked him out for being a moron.
Also, IRC is a lot harder for 'n00bs' to access. I've had countless people ask how to do this and that on IRC. On AIM, it's fairly self-explanatory(although some people still don't understand it, god only knows why).
Simply put: AIM > IRC
If people would kick eachother out for being morons, then the administration needs to surely grow up.
Also, could you not swear so much? I had a hard time taking you seriously.
You are not an FF character.
...easy boys. Don't turn this into something it isn't.
There's actually been talk of reviving the old TFF IRC room for quite a while. Why don't one of you do it? I don't use IRC myself, but plenty of other members do. It wouldn't be tough to open the room back up and let it go from there.

I wouldn't have a problem with reopening it, but then again, I'm only new here.
But if you want a referal, I'm friends with Jet at school...Dunno where I was going with that one, but you can ask him about me.
You are not an FF character.
Wtf?
As for the AOL and IRC thing. AOL is much easier, I dislike iRC. Greatly.

Look, it's a thread about the AIM chatroom for TFF. If you guys want to continue your debate over which messaging program is better, take it to the Digital Community forum and start up a topic for it there or something.

I personally don't see how IRC is any harder to use than AIM. It just takes.... knowledge.
Anyways, TFF back in 01-02 had an IRC room, the AIM room has, and still does, get a lot more activity than the IRC room ever did because more people have AIM than an IRC program.
(Yes, I know I'm a month late here)
Come to think of it, I wonder if the old TFF IRC room still exists. I just wish I could remember the channel and the server it was on.
