I'm not a Hunter!!!!

Which of the TFF ranks do you identify with the most? I mean there are dozens of them. Only recently did I take exception to the term Hunter. My father and his family were all avid hunters, and as such always carried various assortment of guns with them. (how enlightened for a psychologist).

The closest I came to such a title was Fisher. I do love trout. And despite the term Hunter....I love quail. Ignoring my own title, how do you relate to yours?

Archer. I haven't done much archery in recent years, but it is something i've always enjoyed. Its one of the only things involving aim that I am relatively good at, and it's always a nice feeling going back to an ancient art.

Although in Final Fantasy job terms, hunter is an advanced form of archer, I don't fit well with it. I don't have the heart to kill animals. I do eat meat, but I can't actually kill an animal myself.

I keep forgetting what my TFF title is. Had to take a quick peek at my profile to remember. Okay, so I'm a Dark Knight. That doesn't really mean anything to me, since the only game I can recall that I've used such a class was in FF III. Oh, and Cecil Harvey was one for a bit too....

I always liked the Soldier rank myself. Probably only because it's a reference to one of my fave games in the series, so it's special like that for me.

Holy Knight, but I have my issues on that title.

See, I'm a bit more identified with the title "Paladin", but this is the closest. That, and "Heavenly Knight" which makes almost no sense (unless you use the corrected translation, which is Knight Gallant, a much more elegant title).

So...I technically identify with one title, but I'd rather have it replaced with the title upon which it is traditionally implied with.

Note: I could work with Divine Knight (Crusader) or Temple Knight (Templar), but I find them as lesser titles (in the case of Crusader) or different oaths (in the case of Templar).

And no, not much interest in being a Lunarian, Esper, Eidolon, Guardian Force or even a deity. I'm happy with being a Paladin, thank you very much.

I never really got to run through the gambit of ranks because when the system was put into place I was already near to the last rank. So I only got to see two ranks myself. It is a little disappointing that there is nothing else to have, but I'm not really that worried about it. All things said though, what could be beyond "TFF God" anyway.

I get to be the TFF God/Goddess Andromeda, not such a bad title all things said. ^^

It's been so long that I can't remember what the second to top rank is anymore.

That's part of my charm, never quite knowing. Hehe ^^ I respond to both equally and in general assume a gender-neutral stance on the internet. So think of me as which ever fits with your image of me, male or female, doesn't really matter to me.

I kind of miss being a Geomancer, really. They are a kind, ecological and groovy people. At one with nature and whatnot... Plus, they're kind of closer to how I live and what I do than any other rank.

I'm a Temple Knight at the moment. I don't really think I'm much of a 'debuffering' person and up front person, if I'm completely honest. Or... that's how I interpreted the description given in the rank list. ^^;

I can't really remember the lower ranks all too well - I didn't even notice them until I was about a year old on here. However, I do like the sound of Engineer. I can't say I make a knowledgeable person when it comes to maintaining and fixing things, but I don't mind getting my hands dirty with technology, and learning more about it.

I'd also like to think of myself as a SeeD or Sorcerer. Being experienced in the field of weapon use and magical enhancements to weapons, and being paid to carry out missions sounds like my cup of tea. Looking at the list nearer my own rank, I'd say I kind of miss being a Dark Knight. The evil side is seductive, even though I don't think I have it in me to be a downright b*tch.

This reminded me of a certain situation a few years ago when I used to play a text based MMORPG called Vaperida. You could set your own ranks for the members of your clan (which was kind of hard work to maintain, seeing as it wasn't automated and set to the requirements they needed to fulfil to get a higher rank). What we did for the top rankers was offer them their own choice of rank - a name they could pick for themselves.

Perhaps this is an idea for TFF? Sure, some people might enjoy being known as a TFF God/dess, but perhaps being allowed to choose your own rank when you've dedicated many years to the forums could be a little 'reward'? Just an idea. ^^;

For me it would probably be Hunter. It is the only one that I have seen that I have done quite a bit. I am no Pirate. As much as I wish it I am not a Geomancer. So I would say Hunter.

My current rank is a blue mage, but that doesn't suit me very well, because I'm not blue, I'm not a mage, and I'm not gay enough to label myself as a blue mage. My main problem with that rank is the fact that mages don't even exist. There is nobody alive today, nor has there ever been anybody, who has possessed actual magical abilities. Anybody who has claimed such is either a liar or a complete psychopath.

However, after going over the list, and looking at all the other very homosexual titles, I came across one that actually does fit me rather nicely; the rank of Calculator. I'm very good with numbers and I know my way around comfortably in most fields involving math.
