If you could choose your own voice...

I don't talk. There are reasons, as there always are, but... My particular choice in vocabulary, my overcareful diction and somewhat nasal voice made me a target when I was around seven or eight. Since then, I've talked rarely and only when it was necessary. My father, a psychologist, always told me to ignore what my voice sounds like to me and imagine it to sound however I wanted. This advice proved useless and slightly ridiculous. However, I did give some thought to what voice I would like best...

I decided always that I wanted to sound like Jeremy Irons. lol? *shrugs* I don't. I sound more like...a nasal/creaky-voiced southern surfer dude. =/

At any rate, whose voice would you rather have, though?

I would want Keanue Reeves voice, so that whenever I say thing's, like whoa, and dude, I sound like a total douche. I mean if you want to sound like a douche who else would you pick.

You know, if I had to change my voice to something besides what it is right now, I think I would go with something that sounds airy and sexy. I think Jennifer Tilly's voice would fit the bill. I just really like how it sounds.

Also, I like how some people have a good vocal range and can make thier voice sound like different characters. A good one that comes to mind is Little Kuriboh. He does those YuGiOh abridged vids on Youtube and he voices nearly all the characters. When I first started watching them, I thought, "Okay, how many people are voicing this stuff?" Then I found out it's basically just ONE guy! He does have a couple of different other people that help him, but more often it's just him. I think that's pretty cool.

I enjoy my voice the way it is now, but if I got to change it a little, I'd make my lower range stronger and fuller. I'm working on it, but if it could just happen.... yaaaay. And if I could make my speaking voice just a bit lower without losing my high notes when I sing... that'd be pretty sexy. Maybe when I'm thirty, haha.

If we're talking complete imitation... I would love a voice like Ella Fitzgerald's.

Wow, this is actually something I've thought of before. My voice has been the subject of ridicule during my time in Manchester. With me coming from southern England and having a 'posh' accent they all teased me a little bit. I wouldn't call it full on bullying. Just stupid things like- I'd ask for a glass of coke and my friend would reply with 'on;y if you say glass properly'. That can get annoying sometimes, especially during the times when you're already worked up.

Anyway, I've always wondered what it would be like Emilie de Ravin (Claire from Lost). She's got a really beautiful Australian accent. I love Australian accents (HEY FROGGIE FROGGIE, /wink) Lol.

Oh, another persons voice I'd love to have is Rachel McAdams. I love her accent and overall tone.

Personally, it wouldn't be the voice, but the accent that I would prefer. I have a really "hick" accent when I pronounce certain words, so unfortunately I sometimes say "donn'it" (doesn't it), "inn'it" (isn't it), "ain't", and "Iunno" (I dunno).

If I could change my voice, it would be either a Russian accent, or a North-English accent. I find that they actually pronounce certain words better than most americans I know, and the voices are badass to listen to.

Christopher Lee- So people would not want to F@#$in mess with me, my voice would be too mighty for any man's ears to bear

Captain Jack Sparrow- Well, more of his speech mannerisms than his actual voice.

Robin Atkin Downes- So I can sound like the smooth talkin', sophisticated, and British Luxord!!!!

As it turns out, I apparently sound just like my older brother, though I didn't realize it until a few years ago. This is kind of annoying sometimes. If I answer the phone, people think I'm him. If my nephews are waiting for my brother and I say something from somewhere where they can't see me, they yell out "Daaaaaaaad!" I really hate to disappoint them when they realize it was just me.

I like Southern England, "posh" accents, and I wish my voice was as so. It sort of already is, but not quite... Some posh accents are hawt. Unless they're the stuck up your own ass type voices, then I'm uninterested.

I can't really give an example... but slightly airy and sexy is something I'd totally go for.

Has anyone ever noticed how different they sound in recordings or over the phone? I sound like I have a blocked nose on the phone sometimes, apparently.

The thing I hate the most about life, is hearing your own voice in a recording or in an echo. Why does my voice sound so damn sexy in my head, and then like something terrible when I'm just listening!

I'm not sure whose voice I'd want to poach, but I really want a thick Irish accent. Just for novelty sake. It would be funny in bar fights.

There are a few voices that I'd love to try out for the day. I like a mixture of different accents.

I would choose:

1. Arnold Swatenegger - I mean I'm surprised that nobody has picked this yet. I mean it'll be funny to get reactions from people while shopping or if you're only and you say "I'll be back". There are so many uses for this voice, all of which would be funny.

2. Sean Connery - I was watching From Russia With Love and I have to admit that all his lines just sound ama-sh-ing. I want it shhhhaken not shhhhtirred.

3. Gilbert Gottfried - I even hate this voice but just knowing that I could annoy people with this voice for the day just makes me smile.

All these would be a good laugh for the day at least.

I've come to appreciate my voice more as I've grown older. I used to hate the way it sounded, but I've learned through playing with it that I can give good imitations of some people/characters. Or maybe they're just unique characters that I think sound like those other characters. *shrug* I was told once that I do a good Solid Snake, and I can also hit a pretty high range. Not to toot my own horn too much, but I also have a good singing voice. However, regular talking tends to be rather monotone and mumbly, due to my shy nature...

If I could pick a voice... I dunno. Maybe that guy who did Leonardo and the first dubbing for Kaneda in Akira. Or some English actor, like Jeremy Irons or Akan Rickman. Yes. Alan Rickman, definitely. Or maybe Frank Welker, the man who does every animal/voice sound effect in every cartoon ever. Anyhoo...

I don't know what famous person I would want my voice to sound like. I wish it was more girly like though. Every time my Ben's girlfriend rings for him at work and I answer, I always wish I had her voice. It's so girly and sweet. So that's what I wish I had. I also wish I had a better accent. My voice is amazing as is. I do find it weird how you sound different from how you hear yourself to over the phone or on recording. I'm actually a little nasally sound, probably since I have a deviated septum soo that would do it! But my voice is masculine enough without being Sam Fisher or Solid Snake, yet very sincere sounding from how people describe it. It's not whiny sounding like my balls haven't dropped either.

I would like to have my regular voice again... I started losing it earlier today, and now it's completely gone. It usually happens to me during this time of year, so it will eventually come back (it always did before anyway). It just sort of sucks not to be able to really talk to anyone, and you sort of get a lonely feeling when you can't speak to people.

In order to counter this measurement, I'm going to drink a bunch of cough syrup and stay consistantly high all the time until my voice turns into something like Snoop Dogg's voice. So smooth and cool sounding, he could slip in the craziest obscenities and no one would notice because he's too busy ear****ing everyone and anyone.
