If I see one more "R.I.P. Michael Jackson", I'm gonna join him!

Seriously, what makes him any different then my grandmother that died back in 01. Or my best friend who got shot in the head for standing up for what he believed in.

Yeah yeah yeah, he "changed the world" with him music but in all honesty he is a human why should he be treated any differently then any other human. You want to praise someone from the US, praise the damn individuals who have fought for this courty and gave it what it has today or the people who are still serving this country.

I am sick of hearing about this too. Now I have to hear about how "Janet showed up at his house with moving trucks". Praise the ****er if you want to but let him RIP and move on with life.

I heard yester day that this is the second biggest event to hit the new in 35 years, it is bull shit. Lets put his death over 9/11, the OKC bombings, Obama becoming the first african american president.

But lets remember "It doesn't matter if you are black or white" or in his case; both.

Sorry for the rant, and I am sorry for his families loss but there is 1,000,000,000,000 other things to worry about in this world.

What sickens me is people are trying to make money off of his death. I went to Blockbuster less then 24 hours after his death and they are ALREADY trying to sell his name on a DVD for $35. How sad is this. Next thing you know they will be trying to auction of personal affects of his.

Before this turns into an endless rant I am done. I will leave it at this. Call me a cold hearted son of a bitch if you want to but I think there is things far greater then his death going on.

Damn shame is it shadows one of America greatest Sex symbols. Who cares about Farrah right?

That's not really what bothers me. It's just economy.

That's the world we live in and the world that made Michael the icon he was.

now i completely agree but with the Farrah thing michael got more publicity also because his death was unexpected...farah had cancer and was expected to die.....though it doesnt make it right im just saying that contributes to the news covering him more

I don't see how you can say that because Michal has been sick for OVER 2 years, it just hasnt been in the head lines. Hell his "last" tour has been delayed for over 17 months due to health related issues.

I think that they should leave him and he's family alone. they are the ones who have to deal with this, not the public and the last thing i want if someone died is to have a million people around to say goodbye to him or her

I always thought I was the only person who was thinking that way. Glad to see that others also are pissed off by all the news.

The day he died the first thing I heard on the radio early in the morning was: "Michael Jackson died. I'm sure you are as surprised by that as I am! Of course we'll play all MJ songs all day long..." And I thought: WTF?
I was glad that nobody at school talked about it ~..~ After coming home, I read it on the internet. Then my brother told me, then I read it again somewhere. At the evening, there even were reports about MJ and all the music channels played MJ songs....
Even yesterday I zapped through the channels and nearly every channel had its own report about MJ.

Okay, I may be disrespectful, but everyone dies, so who cares, actually? I didn't know him and I didn't listen to his music. Okay, he was the "king of pop", but does this make him a SO important person? I just don't get why everyone is so sad (and why all the newspapers had biiiig articles about his death). I even got the feeling that the world was going to end after MJ died. (Sorry if I really WAS disrespectful, but I don't like all the "pop singers are gods for the media" stuff <.<")

QFT. You pretty much summed up the way I feel about all of this. The media needs to get over this. I have a sense though that it won't stop anytime soon. The media also tends to make celebrity deaths into a circus which is sad because they should have some respect for the deceased one's families and children.

MJ didn't touch any kids it was proven to be a scam to get money of him. You know how people are you know he had a lot of money and its all gone cause of the media being jerks.

He's dead OMG what tragic news!!! For three days there have been 10 - 14 page articles on his life and music!! i really don't care and like you've all said there are people out there who have done far greater things and have received less publicity!

I heard someone comment on the radion that MJ's death is like dianas and we will all remember what we were doing when we heard the news that he died! i ROFLD at that!!

But yeh to sum it's up im getting preety sick of hearing that he has died and that it is tragic i really couldn't care less i really don't listen to his music and it hasn't influenced me in anyway whatsoever.

But yeh preety much feeling how everyone else is feeling!

But that's not really annoying. Seems pretty logical to play Michael Jackson songs when he's just died. Heck, I've done that myself the last days.

It' just the people that act like you should be "respectful to the dead" as they end to say, while all they are doing themselves is crying over a guy who didn't make any new albums and would probably cancel half of the tour anyway.

In my morbid little mind I found a little humor in this; figured I would share.

Every morning I listen to 92.1 the beat's Big Mad Morning show. (Great show by the way, shameless plug though(oh yeah they have a pod cast(even worse of a plug))) But I found it ironic that the day he died I was listening in at 5 AM (before his death or anything related to him) and they where talking about how great he was, that he was an inspiration, yadda yadda; it really got me thinking "damn I forgot about that guy."

And then later that night I got a text from my wife as I was sitting in the McDonalds drive through with my son that he had died. The sad thing is; my first thoughts where how the hell am I going to watch TV with out hearing about this. Secondly I thought how the hell are teh people that surround Michals name going to make a buck off of it.

I had a good chuckle honestly.

I find the coverage here almost as bad as Anna Nichole Smiths death.

I feel pretty much the same as the majority of this thread. Yeah he died, it's kind of sad when a fellow human dies. But people take it a bit far, in my opinion. Maybe I just don't understand how they get attached to celebrities because I don't.

On the day he died, I was waiting for someone to say it, and someone did. "I'm devastated." Oh, come on! Like hell you're devastated. I just can't understand acting that way unless if they're your family or friend.

Where I am, they're gonna spend a whole day on Wednesday just to show the 2006 Music Awards over again, because Michael Jackson performed live then. I find that the radio broadcast and all the mourning was enough, so why was this necessary? It's almost been an entire week already.

In all seriousness, the coverage is way overblown for this guy. It's like 9/11 all over again for some reason...I cared more about Farrah Fawcett and that was next to not at all...and David Carradine...oh, and Billy Mayes...

I feel sorry that a talented musician died, but I don't feel sad, and almost glad that he's gone because of what he's been up to with the kiddies. This thread is good because I don't see how people can justify jumping on a MJ bandwagon that listens to his music but ignores his life. A yuck dude is a yuck dude even if they made some good music and broke the MTV 'color barrier'.

Yeah, it is getting a bit much. Even Glen, one of my colleagues, who is a major MJ fan and was planning to buy a ticket to the 02 gigs, is getting sick of all the coverage.

I used to read any newspaper article about him when he was alive, as he was obviously a very interesting and controversial character, and I have found myself reading the sometimes ridiculous, and conflicting, articles the Daily Mail (a UK national newspaper) has published, out of morbid curiosity.

I turned on the T.V. yesterday, and there were tons and tons of programs where they'd talk about his life and career. In fact, it's almost as if they're repeating the same things over and over again. We only need on person to tell us his life, right? It's not like anybody who knew him should share out every second that they saw him. Nobody has to be like, "And then Michael Jackson ate prime rib at a restaurant."

He was a music and dance legend and died fairly young, but what I don't really understand was that people where quick enough to b*tch about him when the child abuse accusations came up but now he's died everyone seems to have changed theor mind about him.
and also everyone seems to be downloading his songs quite quickly, why now and not download them when he was alive??

I hear that since he's already 90% plastic, they're gonna melt him down into an action figure so all the 10 year olds can play with him for a change.
