In high school I dated a lot of girls... somewhere in the twenties, if I had to guess. Rumors start pretty easy that way, and most of the time rumors don't really get back to the person they're about. Most of the time being the important phrase there. I heard a few of the rumors about myself in high school. Some talking about how big / small my penis is, some discussing the nature of my sexual orientation, others less aggressive just saying I'm a slut... you get the point.

The question is this:
Have you heard all the nasty things people are saying behind your back, Rocky?

People tell me I sometimes come across as stuck up or pissed off. I'm actually really ****ing nice. But those opinions and rumors have made it back to me enough times that I do wonder what it is that I do that makes people think that I have the energy (nevermind the focus) to hate them. Some of my dearest friends thought I hated them at first. Or found me intimidating in some way. There's this girl (daughter of friends of my dad) who I'm apparently supposed to go say hi to next time I see her, because she thinks I'm really cool but is terrified to talk to me. Sigh.



But yeah, I talk about Rocky's genitalia all the time.

I had all kinds of crap said behind my back at school by some people, but much of it I didn't mind so much. The trouble was I didn't really associate with many people from school outside of those I hung around with.

There was actually a rumour among some of the littlies during my last year that I was a part of some kind of local organised crime thing - to the best of my knowledge, such a thing didn't even exist at the time outside of a few local dealers, most of which I didn't readily associate with. I suppose some of it may have been a result of people I knew from a couple of the surrounding suburbs that weren't into acting too legitimately, but even they weren't doing anything too serious.

I also have a tendency for pissing off frat boy types as I'm all too happy to speak out against their bullshit and hardcore conservative types as some of my views don't fit with theirs and a lot of my language and mannerisms are the types of things they seem to feel are below them. It all breeds contempt and sometimes I'll hear of some of it from someone else at some point in the future.

That's mostly what I got. Even today random people occasionally walk up to me and ask if I went to X High school or Y college because they swear they know me. I always get a kick out of it, seeing as how I didn't hang out with popular people in college and I didn't go to high school where I live now.

As for rumors, I really couldn't say either way. I kept myself in the "normal" zone, so I was neither popular nor unpopular. In that zone, you kinda miss both radars. ^_^

At school, a couple of rumours went around about me. They were so stupid, that I don't even remember what most of them were. One came about shorty after I stopped hanging out with this girl in my class, and started hanging out with who is now my best friend - I felt like I had more in common with her, and I disliked how my other "friends" would treat me. It was well known that my new friend is bisexual, and a few people had doubts about me, so people put two and two together and got five; a few people thought we were in a relationship.

In only lasted a couple of weeks, the rumours, but I was surprised at just how much homophobia there was at school. It was an all girls school, so I can see the "threat", but any sane woman wouldn't go near half of them with a barge pole.

Online... ah, the beauty of copy/paste, saved msn conversations, online journals, forums, search engines, facebook, twitter, insiders and drama.

I had rumors about me, nothing too extreme, most of the bad ones were pretty true, vandalism, gambling, elaborate pranks, confrontations with the school janitorial system. I always liked the flow of information, so I usually manipulated them and helped spread the rumors occassionally, usually providing 4 different types of information to people about the same incident.

I wasn't an attention whore or anything, actually I prefered without it. But when people asked I decided to had fun with it.

I'm not quite sure where the phrase "oh my god" derived from. I think it's okay to capitalize the "g" if the god you are referring to is the christian God. His name is God. However, using a capital "g" insinuates that the only god you are talking about is the christian god. There are other beliefs out there though. So it may be weird to say "oh my God" to someone who doesn't believe in your god.

yeah, it's more or less up to the interpretations of the poster to use either "god" or "God". Just remember that if you are Christian and using the term "oh my God", well thats kinda sacrelige (is that even a word? I just made it one hahaaaaaaa) so be careful.

Yes, few times I've heard what's been said behind my back, honestly I wasn't surprised as to what's been said, more by who, in the end it's true that you don't need to give a reason for people to talk trash about you. Luckily those things don't bother me that much as I don't really care.
