TFF Convention

Let's face it, there are alot of awesome people around here, so if we all got the chance.... Would YOU go to a The Final Fantasy Forums Convention?

And by convention I mean, in the sense of a meeting, a gathering of individuals who meet at an arranged place and time in order to discuss or engage in some common interest.

WHERE would you like it to be held? In a perfect world.... it could be ANYWHERE your little hearts desired. But of course, most of us are poor and couldn't afford it

I would love for it to be held at Disneyland, I think that speaks for itself. There are quite a few people on here I would LOVE to meet someday. And I think it'd be fun as hell!!! Oh and I just want to go to Disneyland, so I can get some Mickey Mouse gloves.

For majority of peeps, I would imagine some sort of party type deal. Get drunk and most likely get harrassed by you know who... It's not really to discuss Final Fantasy, I'm not ruling it out of course, but it's mainly just so a bunch of cool people can be cool together in one place. In person.

As for the place: Doesn't matter to me. In this perfect world we imagine, I'd have enough money to go everywhere I wanted.
But Las Vegas sounds great. Never been there, anyways, would be a great opportunity to visit it. Plus, I could marry Telegraph while being there. Yay!

I suggested Scotland before. We speak English and serve alcohol to over 18s, and beer/wine to 16-year-olds when having a meal in a licensed resteraunt.

Plus I think if I went to Vegas I would simultaenously burst into flames and lose all of my money gambling. And all of the money of the person standing next to me, who just asked me if they speak English in England, after me foolishly telling them about Scotland/England's relationship.

I've always wondered what it would be like to meet with all of you. Definitley a possibility, right? I'm gonna kick back with Alpha soon when hes got some free time, looking forward to that. I agree that it would be great to have an actual Quistis Ball (minus the mishaps). I always envisioned a TFF convention would occur in the same city a Distant Worlds concert is held.

If it were to be held somewhere in North America, I could bike there easily (it's a two-day ride from my house to Toronto). And I am sure there's a way to make my bike into a boat if held overseas. I could probably get time off from work, provided I report on the event for the paper. "Biggest FF fans Take Over so-and-so City for Giant Conference" could be the headline.

Until then, one of us will have to win the lottery and use their winnings to get us all together. That seems the only way. Unless we were to meet in several cities around the world and Skype with each other or something.

I'm still cool with the idea, but it'd be tricky. As we can see here, no one can decide on a location because nobody wants to drop a lot of cash into the idea. I mean, if I could afford it, I'd definitely invite all of you to my neck of the woods and put you up somewhere, but I am far from wealthy.

The only feasible TFF'er for me to meet is H.U.N.K., now that I think about it. Maybe he and I can carpool/airpool somewhere if a TFF convention does happen

I agree it would be awesome, but if it was in the US I wouldn't be able to drink yet. Not that it would happen any time soon anyway, if it ever were to happen.

As much as it is one of my many dreams to visit Disneyland/world, I would flip out from excitement and seem like a total nutter if one was held there, which wouldn't make the best first impression would it? lol.

Beer has a far higher alcohol percentage in Australia, you will get drunk and more bang for your buck. So thats pretty much all I got. besides, Australia for the most part is safe and you can actually walk around at night here.

I'd like to come to a convention. I wouldn't want to discuss Final Fantasy and most games though - that's just really lame. I could save myself the money and just talk about it on here.

I'd love to meet everyone [I like] though, which is a fair amount of you. I think Vegas would be really cool as there's loads to do over there and nice places to stay. It'd be cool if some of us all chipped in and rented a large cabin for a week or something. BBQs, beers, stories, camp fires, music (Ally ), games that don't involve technology... THAT would be an experience I think, and I'd be down for something like that.

Pete for the win. I say why not westren Canada our parks friggin' rock. Plus our nation is way too polite to let some crappy park ranger try to spoil a bunch of foreigner's camping trip.

Plus once you all pass out I can just lurk around watching you like I do on the forums...only in real life! I mean I'd love to meet you all and get to know you and stuff. Frig Alysin could play some tunes for us under the starry sky. Plus in the woods no one cards the minors. That doesn't really effect me at all because I don't even drink but hey to each their own!

Or, or, you could come to my place! My back yard is Woodland Altars, 450 acres of forests full of camping areas, a large cabin, and plenty of outdoorsy stuff. They also have tennis courts, swimming pool, fishing, and most importantly, me! If you get tired of the camping life, then my house is a 90-second walk away through the woods (0.9 miles by road). The best part is that I am related to the owner, so it would be practically free (damage done would have to be paid for).

And for those who want to let it all hang out (literally), there is a nudist camp ten miles away. You know, if you are one of those people.

Noooooooo! You're not doing it right! Loaf. LV is way too expensive. And Michael, I'm sorry, but I really don't want to go to your town. All of those videos you post scare me. WHAT WE NEED! Is Cancun!!! You know why? It's EXACTLY like Vegas, but smaller and MEGA cheaper. You don't have to drink if you don't want to, but it's still available to you. The culture there is amazing, they take american currency, you can get an all inclusive trip for cheap and still have money left over. I'm pretty sure I can find you deals because A) I know where to look, and b) if need be, I know how to talk to travel agents.

Or you all can come to Canada. Beer isn't exactly cheap here...(It's even worse in BC by my understanding), but neither is gas. Plenty of open space to go around. I honestly want to go out east, but west is good too. Those mountains are beautiful.

In any case, I'd probably be down with whatever we settle with. It's just a matter or money and finding the time off. I'd love to meet the lot of you.

I think Vegas could get really, really expensive if we got a large number of us together. I would still be interested don't get me wrong, but such a thing would require extensive planning and the right timing as not everyone would be able to take a vacation from work at the same time.

Yes, but there are no beaches in the area. This is why I suggest Cancun. I would say Cuba, but issues arise with that idea.

Actually, there are some sandy "beaches" at some of the nearby lakes, and some rocky ones as well. And then you have water parks like The Beach, Long's Retreat, and Cave Lake for some more of your touristy places. Not to mention King's Island has a water park connected to it (can't remember the name). And for the fearless (of coming out with an extra arm jutting from your stomach) we have the wonderful waterway called the Ohio River just 45 minutes away.

I didn't like Snakes on a Plane. I felt sad for all the snakes.

I wouldn't mind going to a TFF Convention one day. If I ever was able to work my schedule around it haha.

I'd probably just hang out with a few people though. I'm not one for huge crowds, and it makes me uncomfortable.

Sabin's idea of solving internet challenges with more internet seems pretty good. Although, don't we all have a Skype or MSN? We could coordinate it there

Also, the beach seems good, what with spring break getting close and all. Anyone else going to the Gulf side of Florida?
