Have you ever looked back on a post and had the feeling of ..." blerfegh? WAT was I thinking? *edits post even though it's 90 years old*"

I've had a few and by that I mean a lot of those in the past. I don't really edit them, but I get the feeling of "wow I was such a douche" lol

I also tend to edit my post 5 times before I'm satisfied, so when I post something just remember to come back 30 mins. later and then read it

Y'know, when you've been on a forum for almost 10 years, you tend to get a few of those. And you're half glad that the Cleft of Dimensions don't go all the way back to 2002 anymore, heh. Though I can still find a few of my really old posts here or there in some corner of the forums, and I think, "...ugh..." or "Why did I say that?" or "...that wasn't funny. That was annoying and stupid."

A lot of it is that you're growing up, and learning, and gaining experience. Only difference is that a forum post is like a snapshot of what you were like or thinking at that point in time. It's there forehhhh-ver. ....Unless it gets deleted. Then it's precious memories gone!! I'm losing my thought pattern. Oh well. Anyhoo...

The same here for sure, Pretty good idea for a topic by the way. I know I hate looking at some of my old posts as they are pretty lame and immature. When I first joined in 2006 I was 18 and less mature and stupid than I am now by a long shot. I used to say lot's of perverted things out in the open all the time and that is quite embarrasing to me. I also used to be a Wikkan in those days; now I'm a Christian which has a lot to do with my change as well.

Quite a few of those, unfortunately. Mostly one liners, some gibberish I wrote, few discussions with other members where I ended looking like complete idiot. I'm fairly new here on TFF, which means those posts are still around somewhere.

Its happened to me before, can we include messages users send to each other? i'm guilty with that too haha, but in the end, does it really matter? its not like we can take back what we post or send, all we can hope to do is not repeat what we will post or message in the future.

I used to do that on Square-Ultima....a lot. I didn't edit them, but when I re read a lot of the stuff I would reply too...I wanted to slap myself.

Same here! When I post something, I want it to be exactly what I'm trying to say, without offending too many people, or with offending the right people.

But yeah I edit old posts too, even though no one will pay attention to them now.

'eh, I don't much care to reminisce nowadays, so I don't go back and look at old posts. I've been at TFF since I was 14 (now 24) and suffice it to say, I've said a lot of stupid shit on these forums.

I made a lot of noobish posts, and I'm ashamed of a couple. It's amazing how I've changed, but I can name a few others who've changed too. I had the "i write in lower caps and dont use use punctuation because im lazy" syndrome. I still make the odd spelling or grammar error here and there though - I'll usually always edit it if I/someone notices it.

I think my journal has a lot of embarrassing posts, but I don't have the heart to ask for it to be deleted. I know, in maybe five years time (considering TFF still exists and I still come here... which is most likely), I'll take a weekend out to look back on it. And laugh at myself, probably. And read about the memories that are contained in there. I don't know. I think we all have our moments.

Usually when I'm hammered the night before, I'll wake up, check TFF and sometimes have those "oh shit, I said WHAT" moments. Usually they're hilarious, but most of the time I wind up pissing someone off.

I don't edit them, unless I misspell lots of words, but I'm pretty good about that. As for sober posts in the past, I'm not really ashamed of them, even if there was TFF drama that got blown way out of proportion. I'll just laugh about it and think how stupid it was for everyone, myself included, to get as wrapped up in it as we all did.

hahaah, yeah I have been here since I was 13 so I've said some stupid dumb noob shit in the past, luckily that virtually all my posts from back then do not exist anymore ^^b.

But like Pete, if I am intoxicated I have a tendancy to make dumb posts/threads, and I have at occasion been embarrassed by them, like for example I made a thread on something when I was drunk and made it sound like I'm completely dependant on alcohol , not what I wanted to get through to people.

Other times, I'll think I have a great post/thread idea, then I'll realize it's stupid so I'll be like "**** it" and alt+f4. I like to proofread my ideas before I post them, but I still may occasionally edit in things afterwards mostly so I dont get off-topic warnings heehee

I've done that here a lot. I've been on here for like 5 years....deleting myself once along the way. I go back to my journal sometimes and thinks....wow I was a Bitch. Hopefully I'm not like that anymore, but than again I'm a lot happier than I was 5 years ago.
