E-Mail or Snail Mail... Mail Discussion Here!

    Hai hai.

It's a simple question really. But I was curious and you all know me kinda...
Do you prefer to get mail electronically or by post?

For me I love getting it by post. Actually being able to touch the envelope is far more 'real'. You have the mystery of who it may be from... or what it contains! You can send gifts by mail... Love letters... all sorts.

Don't get me wrong, I love e-mail too! Nothing gets me more excited than seeing my inbox has some unread mail. I just love all kinds of mail (by that I mean both e-mail and post. I wasn't saying I love junk mail <_<).

I was also thinking, so not to make this a boring 'Yes No' thread, we could make this a general mail thread.
For example, discuss the weirdest flyer you got. Your hate for junk mail (nothing inappropriate mentioned plx ) and omg... Chain Mail hate! xD

    Following the path for truth...

    and ending the dream.

Since my boyfriend and my brother have just been deployed again I have no choice but to do snail mail because neither of them have phones are internet.(they are with each other in the same batallion and all that so same deployment place) but I don't mind email either. There's not a both option in the poll so I didn't vote. But snail mail is fun and makes it more exciting waiting for a reply. Email is just quick and easy, which is just fun too in a way if you have a great email buddy lol.

    I couldn't vote, cos I like both
Email is quick and easy aslong as the person you want to contact has the internet lol
But I think a hand written letter is much more personal, to me it shows that the person who sent you the letter took the time to write it. I NEVER send Ecards to people I would much rather send a card buy post and I love to recieve cards aswell.

I prefer Snail Mail. E-mail is great and everything, but with snail mail, you can send it from anywhere if you have your address book on you.

I get pissy with e-mail too. At the moment, my inbox on hotmail is full. I need to clear it out, but I can't be arsed. I have at least... 1000 e-mails to go through. 500 of them are from Facebook, I'm sure. I didn't turn the e-mail option off when I joined... Classic noob mistake. =S

    Lemmie check actually...

I prefer a simple e-mail from a friend who, let's say, is throwing a party or something next friday. I'm almost on the computer everday, so chances are I'll never miss an e-mail.

But when it comes to banking stuff, I like that I get regular mail from the bank, instead of mails. It's way more professional, and you have proof in paper form (if it'd be necessary in some way...).

I use to send an e-maiL a lot more than snaiL maiL.. because.. my mom and other reLatives are working in another country.. so obviousLy they’re the onLy one I’m sending a Letter to.. FirstLy.. I use e-maiL a Lot because.. I don’t have to pay fees just to send them my “How are you” Letter.. secondly.. they don’t have to wait for Like days to receive my Letter.. but I use snaiL maiL rarely if they request to see how my handwriting skills improving.. I prefer no mail of any kind, because both can be tracked by the government. That's not considering that the U.S. Postal Service is a government organization. And they're allowed to hack e-mail because of the USA Patriot Act of 2001, because within the building blocks of that act, everybody is a suspected terrorist. I don't like the idea of big brother keeping track of me.

I prefer e-mail. It's more environmentally friendly and I personally can't be arsed to recycle paper since my city doesn't support it very well. Recycling bits, however... computers are good at doing that on their own.

Snail mail is nothing but a waste of paper. I don't need to see my bank statements when I can log into the website whenever I want to see all transactions... I don't need credit card bills or bank notes mailed to me on a monthly basis because, again, I can log into their website and view this information. I pay all my bills via the internet, no need to mail in a check.

Snail mail is good only for sending me physical things, like credit cards, games via gamefly, movies via netflix, etc. Ink printed on paper = waste.

I much prefer E-mail over hand writting because for one thing I can't even open an enveloppe properly XD...And second thing is it comes faster and you cant get paper cuts!! =D The only reason that I ever use old fashion mail is if I ordered a game off of ebay >.>...Even then it's hard to get out of that crazy enveloppe O.o

If it's communicating by sending a friendly hello or asking how someone has been, I prefer to do that over the internet via email, since it is easy to get in touch with people that way. The message is sent within seconds at no cost, and it is easy to say whatever one can feel like, provided they have basic keyboarding skills.

If I need to send a formal thank you, I use regular mail, because in my opinion, sending an email telling family/friends how greatful you are for having them support you on mission trips/graduation/etc seems a little tacky, and if someone is going to congratulate me or possibly even give me money out of the whole thing, then I may as well take some time and effort by thanking them in a warm and heartfelt manner.

I like e-mail better. I don't really remember the last time I sent a hand written letter to anyone. I would always just call or e-mail them instead. I always hated the risk of your letter getting lost in the shuffle. I've had that happen before. Plus our post office here isn't the best at handling mail.

Email is just.. simpler. Its faster and has an almost instant gratification... Unless your on dial-up...

I write letters whenever I'm writing something that needs to be taken seriously. I can't talk completely seriously online through email unless it's to somebody I've known for a few years. I think I write letters because it tends to relieve me if I'm stressed.

Email. Fast, easy, gets the job done.

Snail mail, eh. All I get from that are bills and silly things like advertisements and credit card applications. It's a waste of paper. I do paperless billing and electronic payments of just about everything. I get (and send) cards in the mail on important holidays but other than that I only use it for delivering my online purchases. And even then I won't be doing that as much once I get a Kindle. Wireless ebooks = win.

IMing, hands down. Instant gratification. (They say IMing is doing to e-mail as what e-mail did to snail mail).

But, if it was between the two I'd say they have are about equal. E-mail is quick, but doesn't have the same exciting feel as getting a letter in the physical mailbox. While they both have the downside of getting lost either at the post office or in cyberspace.
