Do the extreme side effects freak you out?

This has been on my mind for a while, It's not a huge deal but every time I see a commercial like this, I wonder " who would take the risk??? " lots of the side effects seem worse than the problem. Commercials for things like Viagra, Latisse, Yaz ect. (these are just examples, side effects may not be too extreme but I can't remember specific ones right now -_-) seem like you may gain more problems from the product than actually helping yourself...I know that in these advertisements, they MUST include all of the serious side effects so we know what can happen. Maybe thats why they seem so extreme to me. Unless I really needed something like this i wouldn't use it. I can understand why someone would consider using these types of products though. But do you really need a doctors prescription to grow your eyelashes??

Edit: Do you find this strange too??

What products do you think are safe to use? and which ones do you think you would use in your lifetime?? (not just these, any of the ones you have seen before that are similar)

I remember I was in the kitchen when I heard a commercial for a male enhancement product, and It said a side effect was possible blindness!!! I don't know....I mean if you really wanna do work that badly that you would risk your eyesight I guess go for it.. ( I know some people who would...). I'm sure it wasn't a super common effect, But It it still sounded horrible.

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

I do think it's odd that a lot of medicines out in the market do have some pretty extreme side effects, which can be a LOT worse than the symptom that you are trying to relieve in the first place. Some are just plain stupid. Like I was reading a label on a medicine that was supposed to relieve constipation, and one of the side effects was constipation...WTF?

Do these commercials freak you out too??
Nah. I don't really pay too much attention to them. I just view them as minor annoyances that are preventing me from watching my favorite shows. That's how I see all commercials though.

What products do you think are safe to use? and which ones do you think you would use in your lifetime??
I think that most products are generally safe to use. Most of the complications that could potentially occur if you use these medications happen if you are naturally high at risk for those types of things (like if it runs in your family), or if you smoke or something.

I'm going to put a spoiler tag, because I know a lot of people (guys especially) wouldn't want to read this next part. It's totally on YOU if you decide to read it. You have been warned.

    SPOILER!!:
Hopefully, I stay healthy enough that I wouldn't need prescriptions for anything, but I may at some point in my life get on some sort of birth control. Not just for pregnancy prevention, but I hear that it helps deal with some of the problems that come with "that time of the month", and I wouldn't mind having an easier time while it's happening. And less often too.

What kind of stuff is out there to make your eyelashes grow? I haven't heard of anything other than putting falsies on, and I don't really think you need any sort of doctor's prescription for that, since you can just pick those up at Wal-Mart or something. There are also Lash Lounges around where I live, but basically all they do is put falsies on your eyelids for you, but those are supposed to last longer (and they cost hella more too). I'm only asking because I am curious.

thats Latisse, I saw it on T.V the other day. I guess your supposed to rub it in your eyelids to make them "naturally" grow as opposed to the fake ones....some of the side effects were blindness, eyelid skin darkening, and something about itching, eye redness, dryness and irritation of the eye or surounding eyelid skin where Latisse is applied. It is also possible for hair growth to occur in the areas where Latisse comes in contact with, so if you accidently drip some on your upper lip...uh oh! looks like ur a dude now..

These are the effects I found:
    (the extremes)
Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); eye or eyelid discharge, inflammation, irritation, pain, or swelling; severe or persistent burning, dryness, itching, or redness of the eye; severe or persistent eye fatigue; vision changes.
