Clowns.

Clowns... Alot of people have different opinions about these 'things'.
Some people love them and associate them with happy occassions such as birthdays or parties.
Others hate them and it conjures up emotions like fear, hatred and weirded outness (Oxford Dictionary eat your heart out <3)

As for me, I can't stand clowns. Not at parties, circuses... around the shopping mall... and for some reason where I am they're always in shopping malls.
I would actually go to say I have a clown phobia! Coulrophobia.
I will admit from... running away... from such beings in the past. Yes it's very sad but it's true.
And for one I always insisted as a 6 young toddler thingy to never have one of these at a party (the magician route is far safer ~^). But what about everyone else here? Any opinions xP?

So what do you think of... THE CLOWN.

Clowns don't necessarily scare me, but I do tend to avoid any place with a clown. They all seem like criminals to me. They're creepy as ****, and they wear so much face paint that it hides what they actually look like. Which is the perfect disguise for a criminal. I actually heard somewhere that when criminals were on the run from the law, they would join the circus as clowns so as to avoid being tracked down. What annoys me even more than the criminal thing is the fact that most clowns tend to be fluorescent. You can't sleep in a room with a clown. The bastards just keep glowing. It pisses me off.

Clowns scare me and they don't - it depends on the mood I'm in. Firstly, I was only only person in my class who doesn't find the IT clown scary - I laughed all the way through at that film.

If anything, I think it's the combination of clowns and circus music that really scares me. I don't know why... but it does. Then again, the circus does send a shiver down my spine. Clowns just add to it I guess. =S

*shiver* I hate clowns. I didn't think they were humans when I was younger. I thought circuses bought them like tigers and elephants to use in acts. Now that I know they're just people(hopefully), I still am freaked out by those makeup wearing freaks(no offense to any possible posters who are clowns, hehehe....).

Clowns don't really scare me that much. Honestly, I think most clowns we see nowadays are intentionally scary... like those pics, or the ones I saw in that Ghostbusters cartoon a long while ago. I haven't seen a serious clown in a long, long, long time. Makes me want to, on a little bike or in a clown car or in a baby carriage.

I mean, barring those with the actual phobia, would anyone here be nervous around Ronald McDonald?

Oh, I wouldn't be scared of old Mcdonald, how old is he supposed to be, like 60??? I'm not scared of him because whenever I see him I know there is a juicy burger around him somewhere!

Unknown...I dislike you now for posting that pic. When I was 2 I saw that movie...scarred me for life. I hate clowns, I hate them hate them. Now I wont go crazy AHHHHHHHHHh over them...I just really hate clowns.

yeah, that burger you are refering to happens to be in his pants.

Clowns being scary? Not in the slightest. Why would the circus employ such beings if they were meant to be scary? Isn't the circus all about family fun, and if so, would clowns work there? No, the circus wouldn't hire clowns if they were meant to be scary because they would lose all of their potential profit, so I don't understand why such a harmless jolly fellow with a silly nose is being made out to frighten people.

I'm not a huge fan of clowns but not all of them are scary looking, I do not try to run into any that I see. There is sometimes one at the shopping center I go to so I stay away from it. xD The kids don't seem to mind it though, they love it. I think it's when we start to get older we start to be afraid.

This actually reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons, "Can't sleep, clown will eat me."

I don't mind them but I like the non-scary clowns. The horror ones are creepy.

As for Ronald MacDonald... that dude freaks me out too u.u

Ronald McDonald is so creepy..But then again all clowns freak me out it's the big shoes and wild hair that just scares me to death O.O...Ever since for one of my birthdays I had a clown there and he gave me hug I've been scard...Oh and the fact that in every horror story people tell me involves clowns...Horror doesn't work for me XD... If I ever seen running towards me I'd probably scream and run the other way :]

CLowns are reaLLy scary.. aLso I'm becoming uncomfortabLe when I see them.. Like.. when they're having exhibition to some kiddie parties or in parks.. they're annoying.. their smiLe, make-up and cLothes, everything! It's so scary.. though they wear coLorfuL outfits it doesn't heLp them much..

I'm not scared of clowns or anything, but I would love to see a slasher film with the, umm, slasher being a wacko clown

Come to think of it, I never enjoyed the circus. The acrobits all did things you were used to because of the tele, which, you have to admit, makes us numb to certain phenomena.
And the clowns weren't funny at all.

Some mute dude with bad shoe taste and a nose like a drunk (not that I knew what alcohol was back in the day), nah, that doesn't do it for me.

And it still doesn't. But I don't blame people who take their kids to circusses, or kids who enjoy them.

Yet I'm sure no one would mind Hamburgler, who has a life sentence at the playhouse prison.

Now I'm beginning to wonder what people think of the Joker. I'm not even talking about the Joker from Dark Knight, which some people may somehow find less freaky than a normal clown. I'm talking about the the comics or the animated series. I remember this one ep in the animated series on FOX when he had this gas that made everybody laugh uncontrollably and turn clown-faced or fish-faced or something. THAT freaked me out as a kid.

They are annoying little creatures. That's right, I don't even consider clowns human because they wear make-up in such volume that it distorts whatever you could imagine them to look like. So for me, they're like monsters that aren't very scary, but are very annoying.

I'm not scared of clowns anymore. I used to be when I was real young but grew out of it. Now I just think they are plain annoying... No offense to any clowns here or anything...
