I never bothered picking up a musical instrument until years after the geostigma scare was over. To be honest, the world's been pretty peaceful since then, and the shipping business has sort of outgrown its need for me too, with all the help we're able to get now, I barely have to do anything.

Tifa came home one day to find me sitting at a desk, with my head on my arms, folded on the desktop. She asked what was wrong, and for the first time I think in my life, I didn't reply with "nothing," but actually felt a strange thought come into my head, and decided to say it.

"I'm bored to tears. Nobody really needs swordsmen anymore, and even if they did, there are actually people who are better at it than me, now that I've started getting older. Same with the deliveries, really."

Tifa looked at me like I was from another planet, then smiled and said "You need a hobby, Cloud. Here, I've got a guitar I used to have at my house in Nibelheim. It's in the closet here."

She fished a guitar out of the closet and handed it to me, as I look at her like she was from another planet, and said "I've been slicing my way through genetic mutations, Shinra Soldiers, things from the deep places of the--"

And she put her finger over my lips. "You mean you're quick, right? Can you do this?"

She put her foot on my leg and placed the guitar in her hands faster than I think I can swing a sword, and started playing. I was skeptical for about three seconds, which was all it took to see her proving what she just said. I can't swing a sword with all the materia-induced, mako-induced strength and quickness in the world, faster than she can fret strings. It just hits me in the face and I can't believe it.

She finished playing, handed the guitar to me, and said "I am the Great Sephirothia Of Guitar, and I challenge you, Cloudy Eyes."
