Bruce Campbell, the man who transformed a passenger jet into a house in an Oregon Woodland.

Saw this on the news tonight, then found this so I could share. At one point, the article says:
Describing the venture as an “experiment”, Bruce Campbell hopes that others will follow his lead: “It is a good experiment in a living environment that, I hope, will prove to be something that mankind will embrace with vigor at a later time.”
It never fully explains this reasoning, but I assume it's the idea of recycling the downed, abandoned commercial jet as a home. And it's kinda a cool idea. Might be nice to live removed from other people. Wonder how he gets his power and plumbing, though, which apparently he's working on himself.

Another thing to note is how many times the article states the full name "Bruce Campbell," lol. I wonder if they were amused by him having a certain namesake. Normally, wouldn't they just write the last name?

So whadya think? I think good for him. So long as he doesn't mess up the forest in the process of fixing this up. It's an eccentric, but creative idea. Anyhoo...

When I read the thread title, I was thinking that everyone's favorite B-movie badass decided to hermit it up in the woods for some reason.

If he's happy about the prospect of living in a plane, then good for him. I dunno if I'd have the patience to renovate something like that into a liveable abode though. Also, how is the weather in Oregon? I'd worry about storms knocking the plane around. I assume he's got the plane anchored pretty securely to the ground, though there's always the issue of a tree smashing through it. Would home insurance cover planes?

Too many concerns... I don't think something like that would be for me, but best of luck to Mr. Bruce "Not-the-actor" Campbell.

Nah, Bruce has a plot of land in Oregon. If you watch his self titled movie "My Name is Bruce" almost the entire movie is filmed on his land.
I'm pretty sure he's going to eventually take over Clint Eastwood's legacy.. this guy can grab the back of his shirt and pull himself forward into a frontflip with ease. He is legend.

Well, good. Now I don't have to change my zombie attack contingency plan to "move to Oregon and find Bruce Campbell".

    Sunny California it remains... Ahhh....

Actually, as Joxsjua said, Bruce "Don't Call Me Ash" Campbell also lives in Oregon. Southern Oregon, near Ashland. At least he owns land there, although he must be there a lot: he recruited local actors for his movie there, too. Sorry, you still get rain Welcome to my world... Anyhoo...

I think a plane would be cool to live in, but only if it could still fly. That would be the coolest home ever.

Forgive my impertinence but isn't that still just a plane? I mean.. just remove some seats and stick a bed and TV in and you're basically set. Think Air Force One.

So this means that there are officially three good things to ever come from Oregon: Joe Preston, that Ralph Towner group Oregon, and now the dude who made a plane into a house.

Way to go, Oregon! You did it!
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

What about if it was always flying? Think about it. If you need to leave the house, you strap on a parachute, and jump out. If you need to get back on, that's when the skyhook system comes in handy.

Although it would be hard to deliver mail to a flying house. I guess all mail would have to be left at a post office near your legal residence, and you'd have to parachute down once a week to pick it up. That could be time consuming, but it could work.

Though if it's flying all the time, it's going to need fuel. Unless if it's wind or solar powered. That could work.

I think that's a good idea. You're a genius for coming up with all of that, Mr. Cyanosuke.

Um... free beaches, skiing, the music scene in Portland, looking at filming locations for Goonies/Short Circuit/Kindergarten Cop/etc. in Astoria, lots of pretty scenery? What does Wisconsin have? Snow?

And Mr. Eastwood, that is a very interesting quandary. It could be like that thing S.H.I.E.L.D. used for their headquarters in the Avengers. Except maybe not as good, because you might not have the same funding. Anyhoo...
