So I was thinking - granted a rare occasion but it does happen. Are awards really a good tool for motivation?

This Friday my Uni is holding the Graduation and Awards Ceremony, and it really got me deep in thought. Of course everyone would love to get an award... but the fact of the matter is not everyone does get one.

Awards could be the possible result of envy, bad-feeling and anger. However, it is also an excellent method of recognition - if the decision made has been well-made and justified.

So yeah, what do you think? Are awards a good idea? Or do you think they're just the root of all evil?

I'm sorry, I had to make a thread .
