I just felt like making a topic about this because it annoys the crap out of me.

I have a few of those friends that ALWAYS ask for my advice and never take it. It's like I always take the time to try and give them really good advice, and different view points (usually something thats pretty obvious they should do, and I need to explain to them WHY they should.) and then they don't listen and get screwed over. It usually turns into "YOU SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ME" or " I TOLD YOUR DUMB ASS"

I understand you don't always have to take my advice, It could be wrong for the situation, but when it happens repeatedly, it's like IF YOU'RE NOT GONNA TAKE MY ADVICE THEN DONT F*CKING ASK.

Then after the situation goes bad, they want to call me and cry and moan about it. I just don't want to hear it after a while, especially since I TOLD YOU.

Not sure if I have friends irl that pull stuff like that, but it really sucks that people are doing it to you.

I've had people ask me about stuff over msn but sometimes they don't go with my advice. I can understand how annoying it is if they ask you about something and you give an honest opinion, if its something troubling them, they won't let it go or its one of those "he/she said stuff that hurt my feelings." I don't remember if the people i talked to went and complained to me about it, i just remember being asked different things.

I will call em out on it. I'll be like why the f*ck you gonna ask me for advice if you aren't gonna do it.

It is dumb to ask for advice then ignore it.

But yes, I do. Worst thing is, some of them know what needs to be done, I confirm and support that plan of action when they ask, and then they do the exact damn opposite. I've started to just be like, "Hey, if you're willing to go through some additional bullshit because you can't handle your crap, then yeah, go ahead and do what you already know you want to and are going to do."

This happens a lot. I mean, if I'm going to go out of my way to ask someone for advice, I'm going to at least consider what they have to say (if it's decent advice) and integrate that into whatever the plan of action is.

But I do have friends who will start by doing one thing (whether it's the smart decision or not) and then give up on it the next day and do something completely off the wall. These situations typically involve the opposite sex and really stupid choices they have made. Boys are dumb. Girls are also dumb, but less often.

I don't mind giving advice out to friends who ask for it. I don't mind if they use it or not. It's not as if they have to use it or anything.

You can say "I told you so..." but that's just taking the moral high ground (I'm guilty of it sometimes... ^^; ). At the end of the day, it's your friend who has to deal with whatever situation they're in - it's up to them how they approach it.

I don't really like it when people bug me for advice... That's not to say that I mind lending an opinion, if I care enough to have one. Or that you can't ask my advice. I simply hate it when people rely on me to tell them what to do or think, unless what they do is my direct responsibility.

I don't hate it or resent people for doing it...just slightly annoying.

Yes, I have friends and family that are always asking for advice. And of course most of the time they usually ignore it. But I'll probably continue doing it. I feel it gives me the privilege of telling them that they are a dumb ass when they screw things up.

I find myself giving being asked for advice on certain topics almost daily. Thankfully most who ask for it are the types who'll bring it into consideration (whether or not they actually follow it doesn't matter), but I do seem to get the odd annoying person asking me for advice while already being completely set on what they're doing. That I do find *very* annoying - it's really just a big waste of my time.

I get asked for advice on occasion, and I've heard I'm pretty goddamn snazzy at giving it. I don't care if people take my advice or not, since more often or not, I tend to ask more questions than offer solutions, and offer a point of view here or there.

I find it's usually more effective to get someone to look at all sides of whatever issue they are having to make better decisions.

It's also hilarious that I get asked for relationship advice all the time.

I am guilty of doing this to some of my friends. You might even be included... but meh... it only happened once and I apologize xD

But friends usually don't ask me for advice so I guess I can't relate. Maybe I'm just not very good at giving advice in the first place. But if they wont take your advice... maybe you should stop offering it to them. At least until they learn to take it... sorta like I did.
